Choose a Game Booster mode
Samsung’s Game Booster offers modes with different priorities. In its guidance, Performance is for the most optimized gaming experience, Standard balances performance and battery use, and Battery saver limits some functions during play. Start with Performance when responsiveness matters most; use Standard if battery life or heat is a concern.
On supported devices, look for Gaming Hub > More options > Game Booster > Game optimization > Performance. Samsung’s One UI 7 instructions put high-performance mode at the top of Game Booster settings; an older Samsung guide uses a route through Gaming Hub > More > Game Booster. The precise menu and feature availability can vary by software version, model, and region. Samsung also notes that on Gaming Hub versions below 7.0, More may appear in a different location. Samsung’s One UI 7 Game Booster guide and older Game Booster instructions describe these variations; some models may not support the feature.
Tune settings for one game
A global mode is convenient, but individual-game controls can let you apply a different profile to a demanding title than to casual games. Samsung’s One UI 7 guide describes per-game customization for optimization level, FPS, screen resolution, and frame booster. Not every phone, software version, or game will expose every option.

- Update Gaming Hub and the game through their normal supported update channels, then open the installed Game Booster menu. An update may change available controls, but Samsung’s cited guidance does not establish that updating alone makes a game faster.
- In Game Booster, look for Customizations for individual games or a similarly named per-game setting. Select the game you want to tune.
- Change one available setting at a time—such as lowering resolution or FPS if the game is struggling—and check how the game feels. Review the game’s own graphics options too; a phone-side FPS control does not guarantee that every game supports every frame rate.
- If the result is worse, restore the previous setting. The official guidance lists controls but does not quantify which combination will produce a particular frame rate or temperature on an Exynos phone.
Manage heat and battery drain
Performance mode trades battery runtime for a gaming-focused profile, and Samsung warns that alternate game performance management can increase heat or battery consumption. That heat warning appears in Samsung’s Galaxy S23 guidance, which concerns a Snapdragon-based series; it is evidence of a possible tradeoff, not an Exynos benchmark or a universal Exynos menu path. Samsung’s S23 guidance was updated March 9, 2023.
- If the phone becomes uncomfortably hot or drains quickly, switch back to Standard and reduce the game’s graphics or FPS demand.
- Take a break if the phone is hot. Where practical, avoid charging during play so charging does not add another source of heat.
- For long sessions, expect results to depend on the phone, game, and surroundings. Samsung’s cited support material does not publish Exynos sustained-FPS tests or thermal thresholds.
A clip-on phone cooler is an optional accessory to consider if heat is a problem during long sessions, but the cited sources do not test coolers on Exynos Galaxy phones or establish compatibility or FPS gains. Avoid unofficial tuning apps, disabling Game Optimizing Service, changing thermal safeguards, or rooting the phone as a shortcut: Samsung’s cited guidance does not recommend these steps, and they can introduce stability, heat, or security risks.

Why the exact Galaxy model matters
“Exynos phone” does not identify one set of menus or one gaming result. Samsung says software updates and features may vary by software version, device model, and region. Its guides document settings and tradeoffs, not controlled Exynos comparisons: they do not establish expected FPS, a guaranteed performance improvement, or a fixed battery-life or temperature change from a setting. Check the controls on your own phone rather than copying an older menu path as if it applied to every model.
