The confirmed GTA 6 trailer songs are Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” in Trailer 1, The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together” in Trailer 2, and “Flower in a Hurricane,” a Justice-led collaboration featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, in the October 2026 launch trailer. Search each exact song-title-and-artist combination on a licensed music service, then check the recording version and regional availability.
Confirmed songs, at a glance
Rockstar’s trailers use recognizable commercial recordings, but a song heard in a trailer is not automatically part of the game’s radio soundtrack. The table below separates what is specifically identified from what remains unconfirmed.
| Trailer | Date | Song | Artist or artists | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trailer 1 | December 4, 2023 | “Love Is a Long Road” | Tom Petty | Rockstar’s official trailer description names the song and credits Tom Petty; Thomas Earl Petty and Michael W. Campbell are listed as writers. |
| Trailer 2 | May 6, 2025 | “Hot Together” | The Pointer Sisters | The song is specifically identified with Trailer 2. This confirms its trailer placement, not an in-game radio-station listing. |
| Launch trailer | October 2026 | “Flower in a Hurricane” | Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard | Current reporting identifies it as a new collaboration associated with Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. |
Trailer 1: Tom Petty, “Love Is a Long Road”
Trailer 1’s song is the easiest match to verify because Rockstar Games names it directly in the official YouTube description: “Song: Love Is A Long Road.” The credited performer is Tom Petty, and the listed writers are Thomas Earl Petty and Michael W. Campbell.

Search for Love Is a Long Road Tom Petty. Including the artist prevents results for covers, live performances, lyric videos, or unrelated tracks with similar wording. Use the original Tom Petty recording when you want the audio heard in the trailer.

- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
How to verify the result
- Open Rockstar Games’ official Trailer 1 upload rather than a re-upload.
- Read the description and locate the line identifying the song.
- On your licensed music service, open the artist page for Tom Petty and compare the title exactly.
- Check the track credits or album information if several versions appear.
The trailer credit establishes that the recording was licensed for the promotional video. It does not establish that the song will play on a particular GTA 6 radio station.
Trailer 2: The Pointer Sisters, “Hot Together”
Trailer 2 uses The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together.” Search the title with the group name because the track has multiple uploads and possible cover versions across music services.
Use this exact search
Enter Hot Together The Pointer Sisters. If a service returns several versions, select the release credited to The Pointer Sisters rather than a cover, remix, karaoke recording, or user-uploaded edit.

What the trailer credit does—and does not—prove
“Hot Together” is identified as the Trailer 2 placement. Available complete-tracklist material is not an official Rockstar radio list, so it should not be presented as proof that the song is playable on an in-game station. Rockstar has not published a complete GTA 6 radio-station tracklist in the material currently available.
Launch trailer: “Flower in a Hurricane”
The October 2026 launch trailer introduces “Flower in a Hurricane,” identified as a Justice collaboration featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. MusicRadar reports that the track is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which is offered in CD and vinyl formats for pre-order.
Use the complete artist credit
Search for Flower in a Hurricane Justice Tame Impala SZA King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Including the featured artists helps distinguish the new collaboration from similarly titled tracks and incomplete metadata.
Check whether you are hearing the same release
A trailer may use an edit, a shortened section, or a mastering that differs from a later album or streaming release. Compare the artist list, title, and release information shown by the service. If the service has not yet listed the track in your country, use Rockstar’s official GTA VI music page or the album’s physical-release information as the next verification point rather than relying on an anonymous upload.
Where to listen legally
The fastest reliable route is to start with Rockstar’s own material and then move to a licensed catalog.

- Open the official source. Find the relevant Rockstar Games trailer upload or the official GTA VI music page. The music page advertises playable previews and the Justice score, making it the authoritative hub for GTA VI music discovery.
- Copy the exact identification. Use the title and artist pair shown above instead of searching only for “GTA 6 song.” Broad searches return fan edits, reaction videos, and speculative playlists.
- Search a licensed service. Try Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, or another legitimate service available in your country.
- Open the artist’s page. Verify that the performer matches the trailer credit and that the release is not a cover, tribute, karaoke version, or unofficial upload.
- Compare the recording. Where several versions exist, check album, release-year, writer, and duration information. The original artist recording is the appropriate match for the trailer unless Rockstar identifies an edit.
Catalogs differ by country because licensing agreements are regional. A track missing from one service does not prove that it is unavailable everywhere; check another licensed service or the artist’s official release page.
Official upload, user upload, stream, or purchase?
Different listening routes answer different needs. Use the following comparison when deciding what to open.
| Option | Best for | Verification strength | Typical limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rockstar’s official trailer | Confirming exactly which audio was used in the video | Highest for trailer placement | May contain a shortened edit and is not necessarily an album release. |
| Rockstar’s GTA VI music page | Finding official previews and score information | High for Rockstar-published music information | It may not list every commercial song or every regional catalog link. |
| Licensed subscription stream | On-demand listening without buying a permanent file | High when the artist page and release metadata match | Availability can vary by country and can change when licensing expires. |
| Digital purchase or download | Keeping an authorized copy for personal listening | High when bought from an official store | Purchase formats and regional stores differ. |
| User-uploaded video | Locating a clip when an official catalog listing is unavailable | Low unless the uploader is an authorized rights holder | Uploads can be mislabeled, edited, removed, or monetized without authorization. |
Do not treat a fan-made “GTA 6 soundtrack” playlist as an official tracklist. It may combine trailer songs, songs heard in extended footage, guesses based on audio fingerprints, and unrelated music.
Trailer music versus GTA 6 in-game radio
A trailer license covers use in that promotional video. In-game radio is a separate use requiring its own licensing and game implementation. Therefore, “Love Is a Long Road,” “Hot Together,” and “Flower in a Hurricane” should be described as trailer songs unless Rockstar confirms that they will also appear on a radio station.

What is currently established
- Trailer 1’s official description credits Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road.”
- “Hot Together” is the specifically identified song for Trailer 2.
- The launch trailer features “Flower in a Hurricane,” the Justice-led collaboration named above.
- Rockstar has not published a complete GTA 6 radio-station tracklist in the currently available official material.
How to handle additional songs
If you hear another track in an extended look or alternate cut, call it community-identified unless Rockstar or the rights holder confirms it. Link readers to the original video and provide the timestamp when such a reference is available. Do not turn a fan playlist, leak-era list, or audio-fingerprint guess into an official soundtrack claim.
Physical soundtrack editions
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is offered in CD and vinyl formats for pre-order, according to current reporting. These are physical products, not proof that every song used in a trailer will be playable on an in-game station.
| Format | Status reported | What to check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Vinyl | Available for pre-order | Edition details, dispatch date, shipping country, and whether the listed track is included on that pressing. |
| CD | Available for pre-order | Release date, regional delivery, final track listing, and retailer return policy. |
Price, stock, shipping charges, and delivery dates are volatile. Check the current listing at the time of purchase rather than relying on an old screenshot or a resale post. If your goal is simply to hear a trailer song, a licensed stream is usually more immediate; physical editions are for ownership and collecting.
Fixes for common identification problems
The search returns only covers
Add the original artist’s full name to the query and open the artist’s verified catalog page. For Trailer 1, use “Love Is a Long Road Tom Petty.” For Trailer 2, use “Hot Together The Pointer Sisters.” For the launch trailer, include Justice and all named featured artists.
Best Value
The title appears with different capitalization
Capitalization is not the important part. Match the words, artist credit, and release metadata. “Love Is A Long Road” and “Love Is a Long Road” refer to the same title presentation; the artist and recording are the decisive checks.
The song is unavailable in your country
Try another licensed service, check the artist’s official page, and revisit Rockstar’s official music hub. Regional rights can make a track visible in one country but absent in another. Do not substitute a download from an unknown uploader simply because it appears in search results.
A fan playlist says the song is on a radio station
Separate the playlist’s claim from Rockstar’s published information. Unless Rockstar provides a station and track listing, report only the confirmed trailer placement.
The album listing does not show the same version
Compare the complete artist credit and release information. A soundtrack album can contain a new version, edit, or remaster. The trailer’s use and the album’s final master are related but not automatically identical.
