PagePeeker’s public V2 API documentation does not list a setting for hiding cookie banners, selecting page elements, or injecting CSS. There is no documented banner-removal parameter to add to a request. If you need a clean screenshot, ask PagePeeker whether it can configure this for your account, or use a capture tool with documented page-level controls.
Does PagePeeker let you remove a cookie banner?
Not through a control described in its public API documentation. PagePeeker labels V2 “Recommended for use”; the documented parameters cover the target URL, thumbnail size, an optional account code, premium refresh, and waiting for a generated thumbnail. They do not include cookie-banner removal, CSS injection, or element selectors. See PagePeeker’s Website Thumbnails API.
PagePeeker’s published premium customization options include page dimensions and maximum captured height, compression, thumbnail sizes, overlay text, wait times, and Flash detection. The page invites premium account holders to discuss requirements, but does not promise that banner suppression is available. Ask PagePeeker directly before relying on a custom configuration: premium screenshot customization.
Avoid guessing parameter names such as hide_cookie_banner. An undocumented parameter may be ignored or behave unpredictably; it is not a supported solution.

What to do if you still need the screenshot
Ask PagePeeker about a custom setup
If you need to keep using PagePeeker, contact the service and ask whether it can remove a specific banner or configure a customer-specific capture. Share the page URL and, if you know it, the banner’s CSS selector. Treat the answer as account-specific unless PagePeeker documents a general API option.
Use a capture workflow with documented CSS or selector controls
If you control the capture process, choose a tool that explicitly lets you hide an element by selector or apply custom CSS before taking the screenshot. Verify the exact syntax in that tool’s documentation. This can remove the banner from the image, but hiding a visual element is not the same as accepting or rejecting the website’s consent choice. Do not treat a hidden banner as recorded consent.
If you own the site, opt out of PagePeeker capture
PagePeeker documents a robots.txt rule for site owners who do not want its robot to take screenshots. Add these lines to your site’s robots.txt file:
User-agent: PagePeeker
Disallow: /
This asks PagePeeker’s robot not to capture pages on your site. It does not remove the banner from a screenshot; it prevents the capture. Use this only for a site you operate. PagePeeker explains the rule on its robot information page.

For a screenshot workflow with documented page controls, ScreenshotNeo can hide elements by CSS selector and apply custom CSS or JavaScript. Its clean-shot process accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Hiding an element visually is still distinct from making a consent choice.
Example cURL request for a screenshot (replace the URL as needed):
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for authentication and capture options. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits cost nothing; responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers.
