Install Duskroot from the official store for your device, complete the opening tour, establish the farm, learn the shop, and make a short mine trip before taking larger risks. On Android, use the Google Play listing. On iPhone or iPad, use the Apple App Store listing. Duskroot has no starting class: farming, shop sales, mining, fishing, fighting and haggling all contribute to one shared progression tree.
Install the correct version
Duskroot is listed as a free role-playing game on both mobile platforms. The store pages use different subtitles and developer metadata, so check the publisher name before tapping Install. Avoid downloading an unofficial copy or an unrelated app with a similar name.
Android
- Open Google Play on your Android phone or tablet.
- Search for Duskroot: Cozy Farm RPG.
- Confirm that the listing identifies Midknight Ltd. as the developer and that the package link is com.midknight.duskroot.
- Review the listing’s “Contains ads” and in-app-purchase labels, then select Install.
- Launch the game from Google Play or your app drawer and allow the opening files to finish loading before beginning the tour.
The Google Play page describes Duskroot as free and supported by ads and optional purchases. Its privacy disclosure reports possible sharing of location and app activity, possible collection of location and financial information among other categories, encryption in transit, and an option to request deletion.
iPhone and iPad
- Open the App Store and search for Duskroot.
- Confirm that the provider is Midknight Entertainment LTD. and that the app is the Duskroot entry at apps.apple.com/gr/app/duskroot/id6804491886.
- Check that the device runs iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later; this is the compatibility requirement shown on Apple’s listing.
- Tap Get, authenticate with your Apple Account if prompted, and wait for installation.
- Open Duskroot and complete the introductory tour before changing devices or deleting the app.
Apple lists Duskroot as free with in-app purchases. The App Store page says it has not received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview, so the absence of a rating is not evidence that the game is defective or highly rated.

Your first session: the safest order of operations
The opening day is designed to teach the basic interactions quickly. Follow the tour instead of trying to optimize immediately; it is shorter than a normal day, and the version history says your first radish is ready the next morning.

Follow each prompt and perform the interaction it requests. During the tour, the first rock or stump can be broken with one press, demonstrating how clearing works without requiring you to spend the whole day removing obstacles. Do not skip instructions just to reach the farm screen: the early prompts establish the controls you will use repeatedly.
- Read the prompt before tapping around; this prevents accidental actions.
- Use the first clearing interaction as practice for positioning and tool selection.
- Keep track of the time display so you understand how a day transitions into evening.
- Let the introductory sequence finish before force-closing the app.
2. Establish a small, workable farm
Farming is the daytime foundation. Clear only enough ground for an initial plot, till the soil, plant the seeds you receive, water them and harvest when ready. A compact plot is easier to water and inspect than a large field, and it leaves time to learn the shop and mine.
- Choose a clear patch close to the area where you begin.
- Use the appropriate tool to prepare the soil.
- Plant the available seeds in the prepared spaces.
- Water every planted space before moving on.
- Check the plot the following morning; the first radish should be ready according to the game’s version-history note.
At this stage, your objective is not maximum acreage. It is to learn the complete cycle—clear, till, plant, water and harvest—without exhausting the time available for other activities.

3. Learn the shop before setting ambitious prices
Put an item on a shelf and choose a price. Villagers decide whether that price is fair, so the first sales are a practical lesson in value rather than a simple sell button. Start with one or two harvested items and observe the result before filling every shelf.
- Place an item on an available shelf.
- Select a price you can remember, rather than changing several prices at once.
- Watch whether villagers accept the offer.
- Use the outcome to adjust later prices gradually.
Do not treat an unsold item as a permanent failure. The system is intended to teach you how villagers respond to pricing, and a small test costs less than committing your entire harvest to one guess.
4. Take a short mine trip at dusk
When you have learned the farm and shop controls, take the pick and sword into the mine. Make the first trip deliberately short: learn movement, break a few targets and return while you still have a margin before midnight.
There is a real risk to pushing too far. Falling or remaining out past midnight can leave half of the items you were carrying behind. If you are holding valuable materials, turn back early rather than trying to squeeze in one more room.
- Enter with the pick and sword equipped and enough time to return.
- Break nearby mine targets and note how long each action takes.
- Fight only when you have space and time to recover your position.
- Keep valuable items in mind as you decide whether another room is worth the risk.
- Leave before midnight; do not rely on a last-second escape if the route is unfamiliar.
How Duskroot’s progression works
Duskroot does not ask you to select a class at the beginning. The Google Play description states, “There is no class to pick at the start.” Farming, fighting, mining, fishing and haggling all feed one star pool and a branching skill tree.

Because the game uses one shared tree, you do not need to restart simply because your first activity preference changes. Spend early stars deliberately, but do not assume that the opening choice permanently defines your character.
A repeatable daily routine
Once the tour is complete, organize each day around a simple sequence that protects your crops and your inventory.
- Morning: inspect and water the farm, then harvest anything ready.
- Daytime: place selected items in the shop and test prices with restraint.
- Late day: decide whether you have enough time for a mine, fishing or fighting activity.
- Dusk: use the mine only when you can return with a safe time buffer.
- Before midnight: head home with valuable items instead of gambling them for one more action.
- After the day: review which activity advanced your star pool and choose the next skill-tree direction.
This is a planning framework, not a promise that every day has identical timing. The important habit is to reserve a return window whenever your inventory contains something you would not want to lose.

The listings describe Duskroot as free. The Google Play description emphasizes, “FREE, AND IT STAYS FREE,” while the store information also identifies ads and in-app purchases. The documented advert moments are optional: one can provide a shop hint, and another can offer a hand up after a mine fall. Skipping either costs nothing.
The Rootkeeper’s Pact removes those adverts. The listings also mention cosmetic options, including a pet and a night bloom for the tree. These are optional additions; the supplied store information does not identify a required purchase for the basic farm, shop or mine loop.

Moving your farm to another phone or tablet
Apple devices: use the documented Game Center and iCloud Drive path
Apple documents a transfer path to a new iPhone or iPad when Game Center is signed in with iCloud Drive enabled. Before removing Duskroot from the old device, verify both settings and open the game so the latest progress has a chance to synchronize.
- On the old device, confirm that you are signed in to Game Center with the Apple Account you intend to use on the new device.
- Confirm that iCloud Drive is enabled for that account.
- Open Duskroot and allow your latest farm session to finish saving.
- Set up the new iPhone or iPad with the same Apple Account.
- Enable Game Center and iCloud Drive there as well.
- Install Duskroot from the App Store and open it.
- Check for your existing farm before starting a new one. If the old farm does not appear, do not delete the old app; recheck the account and cloud settings first.
Android devices: do not assume a transfer method
The searched Android listing does not document an equivalent transfer path. That does not prove that no account or cloud feature exists in every release; it means the store page does not establish one. Before replacing an Android phone, look in Duskroot’s own settings for an account, cloud-save or restore option and consult the developer’s current support instructions if the option is unclear.
- Keep the old phone intact until the new installation displays the expected farm.
- Record the Google Account used for the original installation and use it consistently on the new device.
- Do not clear app data or perform a factory reset while you are still verifying the transfer.
- If no in-game transfer option is visible, contact the developer through the current store support route before abandoning the old device.
Store installation history alone is not proof that local progress will move. Treat a new installation as unverified until you can open the actual farm.

Google Play’s disclosure says Duskroot may share location and app activity, may collect location and financial information among other categories, encrypts data in transit and offers a deletion-request option. These are the categories reported by the store, not a list of permissions that every player must grant at launch.
Review the privacy section on the listing for your region, then inspect the permission prompts shown by your operating system. If a permission is optional and you do not want to provide it, deny it and see whether the game still runs; do not assume that denying one permission will disable unrelated features.
For a device change, account consistency matters as much as installation. Use the same Apple Account, Game Center identity or Google Account you used originally where the platform’s transfer process requires it.

Troubleshooting common first-day problems
The app does not appear in the store
Check the spelling, open the direct store link for your platform and compare the developer name. On iPhone or iPad, verify that the operating system is iOS/iPadOS 15.0 or later. Store availability and metadata can differ by region.
The first crop is not ready
The version-history note says the first radish is ready the next morning. Make sure the seed was planted in tilled soil and watered, then complete the day transition. If you ended the session before the next morning, reopen the game and allow the day to advance normally.
You lost mine items
Falling or staying past midnight can leave half of your carried items behind. Treat the loss as a timing warning: return earlier on the next trip, carry valuable items only when you have a safe exit and avoid extending an unfamiliar run late into the night.

A shop item does not sell
Villagers judge whether a price is fair. Test one item at a time and adjust the price rather than filling every shelf with the same aggressive value. An unsold item is information about the price you chose, not proof that the item can never sell.
Your old farm is missing on a new device
On Apple devices, recheck Game Center sign-in and iCloud Drive on both devices. On Android, the store listing does not document a matching transfer process, so keep the old phone and look for an in-game restore or account option before clearing data.
What to do during your first week
Use the first several in-game days to build reliable habits rather than chase every system at once.
- Keep the initial farm compact until watering and harvesting feel automatic.
- Use the shop to learn fair pricing with small batches.
- Make mine trips short enough that you return with your inventory intact.
- Try fishing or fighting when you want variety, knowing both contribute to the same star pool.
- Spend stars after you understand which activities you actually want to repeat.
- Reserve optional advert assistance for situations where losing a run would meaningfully disrupt your plan; it is never required for the basic loop.
The strongest early strategy is consistency: maintain a crop cycle, learn how villagers respond to prices and leave the mine before the game turns a profitable trip into an inventory loss.
