To get married in Final Fantasy XIV, complete the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding. Choose a Standard, Gold, or Platinum plan through the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store or Mog Station, obtain a matching promise wristlet for each partner, complete the required quest The Ties that Bind, reserve the Ivory Chapel, and invite your guests. The ceremony is a scheduled, two-hour in-game event rather than a permanent relationship status, so both players must finish the preparation steps and be present for registration and the ceremony.
This guide explains the prerequisites, plan differences, quest sequence, reservation windows, invitations, ceremony styles, and the fixes for the mistakes that most often prevent couples from entering the chapel.
What the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding is
The Ceremony of Eternal Bonding is Final Fantasy XIV‘s in-game marriage-style ceremony: two characters publicly pledge lifelong devotion in the Ivory Chapel at the Sanctum of the Twelve. The official preparation guide describes The Ties that Bind as the quest that lets partners prove their devotion, arrange the ceremony, and make their pledge before the game’s gods and guests.
It is a cooperative activity for exactly two partners. You do not simply buy a ring and unlock a wedding emote; both players must satisfy the character requirements, complete the preparation quest, reserve a chapel time, and use invitations to bring other players into the instance.

Choose a plan before doing anything else
The ceremony has three plans. The plan determines the wristlets you need and the amount of visual and ceremony customization available. Standard is the core experience. Gold adds a mount and more options. Platinum provides the broadest set of décor, gear, effects, and guest choices.

Plan names and included features are set by the official Ceremony of Eternal Bonding pages, while the checkout price can change by region or over time. The store page is the authority for the amount you will actually pay.
How the purchase is assigned to the partners
Both characters need the promise wristlet associated with the selected plan. One player can purchase both wristlets and give one to the other player before either item becomes bound to its owner. Do not start the quest until each partner can equip or carry the correct wristlet.

Prerequisites for both partners
Check this list before travelling to the Sanctum of the Twelve. The requirements apply to the two characters, not just the player who bought the plan.
- Both characters have completed the main-scenario quest The Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
- At least one partner has a class at level 50 or higher, as specified in the original official quest documentation.
- The partners are in a two-person party with each other.
- Both characters share the same Home World.
- Each character has the appropriate promise wristlet in their inventory or Armoury Chest.
- Neither character currently has an Eternal Bond with another player.
- Both partners are in the East Shroud of their Home World when registering the ceremony.
Being on the same data centre is not enough for registration: the reservation requirement is the same Home World. If one partner has transferred worlds, confirm the current Home World shown for both characters before you attempt to register.
Complete The Ties that Bind
The Ties that Bind is the required quest. It handles the attire, ring preparation, pilgrimage, and the information needed to arrange the ceremony.

- Form the party and equip the wristlets. Make a two-person party with your intended partner. Put the promise wristlet on each character or make sure it is available in the Armoury Chest, then travel to the Sanctum of the Twelve in the East Shroud.
- Speak with Claribel. Claribel offers The Ties that Bind when the party, Home World, story, level, and wristlet requirements are met. If the quest is unavailable, use the checklist above rather than abandoning and reacquiring items at random.
- Collect the ceremony attire and accoutrements. Follow the quest objectives to receive the clothing and other items needed for the ceremony. The plan you purchased determines which attire and dye options are available.
- Prepare the rings. Bring a flawless band to Jemime at the Goldsmiths’ Guild. Jemime engraves it into a divine band for the Eternal Bonding process. Make sure the band is the quest item requested by the objective; an unrelated ring will not advance the step.
- Complete the pilgrimage. Visit the marks of the Twelve named by the quest, then return the rings as instructed. This is a sequence of destinations, so read each objective before leaving an area and keep both partners together if the quest asks for a party interaction.
- Return to the ceremony preparations. After the pilgrimage and ring return, continue the quest until the ceremony planning stage becomes available. Do not try to reserve a chapel slot before the quest has advanced to that stage.
The quest is character-specific. If only one partner has accepted it, the other partner still needs to satisfy the party and wristlet conditions and participate in the corresponding preparation steps.
Select a ceremony style and décor
During the later preparation stage, speak with Raitmeaux in the Ivory Chapel to choose the ceremony style and décor. The style changes the officiant or procession presentation; it does not replace the chapel reservation.
The Lover’s Kiss
This style uses a choir moogle for the ceremony presentation. Choose it if you want a lighter, celebratory atmosphere built around the moogle choir.
The Spinner’s Hand
This style uses the Officiant of the Graces. Its presentation emphasizes the ceremonial role of the officiant rather than the choir-moogle format.
The Solemn Oath
This style uses the Officiant of the Vows and presents the pledge in a more formal tone.

Reserve the Ivory Chapel
The ceremony takes place in the Ivory Chapel inside the Sanctum of the Twelve. Etoinelle handles registration and reservations.
- Return to the East Shroud of your Home World. Both partners must be physically present there; being in a cross-world location does not satisfy the registration condition.
- Equip both promise wristlets. Keep them equipped while speaking with Etoinelle rather than relying only on storage in the Armoury Chest.
- Stay in a two-person party. The party must contain the two partners and no additional member.
- Clear one inventory slot on each character. Etoinelle requires each partner to have at least one free inventory space. Remove or move an item before starting registration if either inventory is full.
- Speak with Etoinelle together. Select an available reservation window and complete the registration for the chosen plan and ceremony details.
Reservations open weekly on Friday, with windows determined by the plan. They are first come, first served and occupy a two-hour block of Earth time. The exact opening schedule is shown by the current in-game reservation interface, so check it before Friday rather than assuming every plan opens simultaneously.
Plan the two-hour block as an appointment. Allow time for both partners to arrive, for guests to enter, and for any screenshots or role-play you want to do. Missing the block does not turn the chapel into an unscheduled venue; the event remains tied to the reserved period.
Send invitations without losing host access
After reserving the chapel, distribute invitations before the ceremony block. Each partner can create and send up to 40 invitations, allowing a maximum of 80 guests in total.
- Use the invitation items to invite characters individually.
- Trade invitations directly when the guest is nearby.
- Send them through the Moogle Delivery Service when the guest is elsewhere.
- Coordinate the two lists so the combined total does not exceed 80.
- Keep the blank invitation item. Discarding it prevents the host from entering the ceremony as a host.
Guests need their invitations to enter the chapel instance. Send them early enough for delivery and ask invitees to arrive before the scheduled start, especially if they are travelling from another area or waiting on a delivery.
Attend and run the ceremony
On the reserved date and time, both partners and invited guests go to the Ivory Chapel in the Sanctum of the Twelve. The hosts use their invitations and reservation access to enter; guests use the invitations they received.

The ceremony presentation reflects the style selected with Raitmeaux. Processional and recessional animations, lighting, music, décor, attire options, favors, and guest gifts depend on the plan and selections available to that plan. Standard supplies the core ceremony. Gold adds the ceremony chocobo and expanded customization. Platinum adds the largest set of décor and lighting choices, additional dyeable areas, further ceremony options, and more guest-gift choices.
Keep the promise wristlets and any quest or invitation items until the event is complete. The ceremony is the final presentation of the preparation quest; it is not necessary to repeat The Ties that Bind for every guest.
Preparation checklist
Use this compact check the day before registration and again before the ceremony.
- Plan purchased through the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store or Mog Station.
- Correct promise wristlet in each partner’s inventory or Armoury Chest.
- Two-person party containing only the partners.
- Same Home World confirmed for both characters.
- The Scions of the Seventh Dawn completed by both characters.
- At least one class at level 50 or higher for the level requirement.
- No existing Eternal Bond for either character.
- The Ties that Bind accepted and progressed through the ring and pilgrimage objectives.
- Flawless band available for Jemime’s engraving step.
- Ceremony style and décor selected with Raitmeaux.
- Both wristlets equipped for Etoinelle’s reservation.
- One free inventory slot on each partner during registration.
- Ivory Chapel slot reserved on the correct Friday window.
- Blank invitation retained; invitations sent to all intended guests.
Common problems and fixes
Claribel does not offer the quest
Confirm the two characters are in a two-person party, both have the correct wristlet, both share a Home World, and the main-scenario and level requirements are met. Also check that neither character already has an Eternal Bond. A wristlet in a retainer or another storage location will not help if the character cannot access it in the inventory or Armoury Chest.
Etoinelle will not accept the reservation
Move both partners to the East Shroud of their Home World, equip the wristlets, remove any extra party member, and free one inventory slot for each character. If no slot appears, the plan’s Friday reservation window may not be open or all available times may already have been taken.

Check that the guest received an invitation, that the invitation was not sent to the wrong character, and that the guest is using it for the reserved ceremony block. If the guest has not received a trade or Moogle Delivery Service item, send a replacement while invitations remain available.

The host cannot enter
Verify that the blank invitation was retained. Discarding it removes the host’s entry item even when the reservation itself still exists.
The ring step will not progress
Return to the objective and confirm that the item is a flawless band and that Jemime is the required NPC at the Goldsmiths’ Guild. The quest asks for engraving into a divine band; a different ring or a ring already used for another purpose will not satisfy that objective.
How to choose the right plan
Choose Standard when the central goal is the Eternal Bonding story, chapel ceremony, and rings. Choose Gold when dyeable attire, a ceremony chocobo, and additional décor justify the extra purchase. Choose Platinum when you want the broadest control over lighting and décor, more dyeable gear areas, additional ceremony effects, and expanded guest gifts.

Do not choose a plan based only on the mount. The meaningful differences are spread across the whole event: venue presentation, clothing, processions, music and cutscenes, favors, and guest gifts. Review the current official plan descriptions together before buying because the store is the definitive source for what is included and what it costs in your region.

- Several days before Friday: agree on the plan, purchase the wristlets, confirm both characters’ prerequisites, and progress The Ties that Bind.
- Before the reservation window: finish the ring and pilgrimage objectives, choose the ceremony style and décor, and prepare a flawless band if the quest still requests one.
- Friday reservation window: meet Etoinelle together in the East Shroud of your Home World with equipped wristlets, a two-person party, and one free inventory slot each.
- After reservation: create and distribute invitations, retaining the blank invitation needed by the hosts.
- Before the ceremony: remind guests of the two-hour Earth-time block and have both hosts arrive early with the required items.
- During the block: enter the Ivory Chapel, allow guests to join, and complete the selected Eternal Bonding presentation.
Following that order prevents the most expensive mistakes: buying the wrong plan, reaching the NPC without a qualifying party, missing the Friday reservation window, or discarding the host invitation.
