Start with the official Steam Deck product page, select the model and region you want, and check its live availability. Valve says Steam Deck OLED stock may be intermittent in some regions, but its current product-page information does not confirm a general-purpose opt-in restock alert for every out-of-stock model.
Steam Deck availability changes by region and over time, so there is no documented universal email or push alert to rely on. There is a separate, older reservation-order email process, and Certified Refurbished inventory is another official option.
How do I get notified when the Steam Deck is back in stock?
- Open the official Steam Deck product page.
- Choose the model you want and check availability for your region. Sign in to Steam if the store asks you to do so.
- If the listing is unavailable, check the page again later or consider the official Certified Refurbished listing. Do not assume an alert will arrive unless the store explicitly offers and confirms a current signup for your region.
Valve’s product page warns that Steam Deck OLED may be out of stock intermittently in some regions. The official information available here does not document a separate, general stock-alert control for all out-of-stock listings; the store page is the direct way to verify current availability.
Does Steam send an email when the Steam Deck is back in stock?
Valve did describe an email for customers in a reservation queue, but that is not the same as a general restock alert. In an announcement dated October 6, 2022, Valve said that if demand again outpaced its ability to ship promptly, it could return to reservations. Customers would retain their queue position and receive an email when their order was ready. That statement describes a reservation-order process at that time, not a standing promise to email everyone when any model returns to stock.

Valve’s same announcement said the reservation queue had been completed and Steam Deck was then available without a reservation. Check the current listing for your region rather than treating the historical queue email as an alert signup.
Check Certified Refurbished Steam Deck stock
Valve also sells Certified Refurbished Steam Deck units through its official refurbished page. Valve says inventory comes from customer returns that meet its criteria, supply is limited and may fluctuate, and buyers can check back or consider a factory-new unit. Availability and checkout price need to be checked live.

Valve says refurbished units undergo more than 100 tests at a Valve facility. They may have minor cosmetic blemishes and carry the same one-year warranty as a new unit, unless the buyer’s country provides a longer term. Compare the live stock, condition, warranty terms, and checkout price before choosing between refurbished and new.
Check the correct regional store
Availability is regional. Valve identifies Komodo as the Steam Deck distribution channel for Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Buyers in those locations should check the relevant Komodo channel for local availability and terms. The cited Valve product-page information does not identify Komodo as the seller for other regions.

What not to rely on
- An assumed “Notify me” button: Do not count on one being available. A general-purpose alert control was not confirmed in the official information described here; rely on it only if you see a live, explicit option for your model and region.
- Old stock announcements: Valve published a back-in-stock announcement on May 27, 2026, with updated OLED prices in multiple currencies. That is a dated announcement, not proof of current availability or current pricing.
- A predicted wait time: Valve’s cited pages do not establish a restock frequency, alert success rate, or expected wait.
