1. Confirm your platform and installed version
Check whether you are playing on PC through Steam, Steam Deck, Steam Machine, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X/S. Make sure the update completed, then identify the version shown by the game or platform. This matters because patch 1.30 lists some PC-specific controls and separate Steam Deck presets; a setting available on one platform may not exist on another.

Use the official patch announcement archive to find notes for your installed version. The latest announcement found here is patch 1.30, dated October 1, 2026. Earlier advice may describe different settings: the July 2026 patch 1.25 announcement, for example, introduced an Ultra+ graphics preset and continued optimization work. Check the notes that match your version rather than assuming an older guide reflects the current menus. Official announcement archive.
2. Identify what is failing
“Problems after an update” can mean different things. Note whether the game crashes at launch or while loading, closes during play, reports a save or load error, or runs at a lower or less stable frame rate. Check the matching patch notes for a named fix or a relevant setting. Patch 1.30 lists general stability and graphics optimization work, but its notes do not identify a universal fix for all crashes or save failures.

3. If performance changed, review the current graphics options
Patch 1.30 adds FSR to the upscaling options, separates Grass Density from Vegetation Quality, and adds a Lens Flare setting. On PC, the draw-distance slider goes up to 120%; the announcement says Ultra+ sets it to 120% by default. The developer says adjusted grass-density values are intended to help GPU-bound setups, high resolutions, and low-end GPUs. These options can help you investigate a performance change, but the announcement does not establish one best setting for every system.
What the patch’s frame-rate estimates mean
Questline/Awaken Realms reports 5 to 30 extra FPS on PC, Steam Deck, and Steam Machine, depending on setup, and around 2 extra FPS on consoles after patch 1.30. The developer also reports better overall console stability. These are developer-published estimates, not independent benchmark results or guaranteed gains for an individual player. In the older patch 1.16 announcement, dated January 28, 2026, the developer reported a 3–5 FPS boost on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC; that historical figure is not a measurement of patch 1.30. Steam Deck presets
The patch 1.30 announcement describes a Quality preset targeting around 30 FPS and a Performance preset targeting 35–40 FPS. Treat these as the developer’s targets, not a promise that every Deck will hold those frame rates in every area. Try the preset that best fits your priority, then assess whether the original performance problem remains.
4. Protect saves when a save or load fails
The official sources cited here do not provide a current procedure for restoring a corrupted save, resolving a cloud-save conflict, or rolling back an update. Do not delete or overwrite saves, edit configuration files, or install unofficial fixes on the assumption that they will recover progress. If the problem persists, contact support and explain exactly what happens; the support article provides contact routes, not save-recovery instructions.

Questline’s listed support email is support@questline.dev. The Awaken Realms digital-game support article, modified May 26, 2025, also links to the game’s official Discord.
Include your platform, installed game version, the exact error text, what you were doing when the problem occurred, and whether it started immediately after the update. These details help describe the issue; the support article confirms the contact channels but does not state a required diagnostic checklist.
