There is no verified, Tenderloin Night Shift–specific FPS or stutter fix. The game is a short multiplayer browser project set in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, and reports say it was removed after public criticism. No documented Windows executable, Steam release, graphics-options menu, hardware requirement, benchmark, shader-cache procedure, launch option, or official performance patch has been published. If a copy still loads, first confirm that it is an authentic, currently available build; then use the browser troubleshooting steps below as general measures, not guaranteed game fixes.
Identify the game before changing settings
The description “San Francisco zombie shooter” matches Tenderloin Night Shift, a browser-based multiplayer project associated with NanoCorp founder Pierre-Louis Biojout. Its levels use recognizable streets and local details from the Tenderloin district, with people represented as in-game targets. It was presented as a weekend project rather than a documented retail PC release.
That distinction matters. A browser game does not expose the same controls as a native DirectX or Vulkan title. Frame rate can be affected by the browser version, tab process, extensions, hardware-acceleration mode, video-driver state, power policy, and other tabs competing for CPU or GPU time. A guide that tells you to edit a game configuration file or add a Steam launch parameter is not applicable unless a later, authenticated release supplies those files and options.

Two reports identifying the project do not document a supported PC build or a reproducible performance test. The current evidence is limited to the following:

Consequently, a claim that one setting “fixes” the game would go beyond the available evidence. The steps that follow are sensible browser and Windows checks for a copy that still runs, but they have not been tested or confirmed specifically for this project.
Check whether the copy is authentic and still available
Because the reported project was removed, availability is the first troubleshooting question. A missing page, an advertisement-filled mirror, or a download that suddenly asks for an executable may indicate that you are no longer dealing with the original browser build.
- Record where the game came from. Note the exact host, page address, and date you accessed it. There is no documented permanent official download to use as a reference.
- Prefer a page that runs in the browser. The documented project was browser-based. Do not assume that a newly offered
.exe, installer, browser extension, or “FPS patch” is an official continuation. - Do not run an unknown executable to solve a frame-rate problem. If you already downloaded one, leave it closed, scan it with your installed security software, and remove it unless its provenance can be independently verified.
- Check whether the problem is availability rather than performance. A blank page, 404 response, endless loading, or a server error cannot be repaired by lowering graphics settings. Try the page once in a second current browser; if both fail, the host may no longer serve the project.
- Keep a clean baseline. Write down your browser name and version, Windows version, display resolution, whether the page is fullscreen, and whether the slowdown affects one tab or the whole system. This prevents unrelated system symptoms from being attributed to the game.
Apply general browser troubleshooting if the game loads
Change one item at a time and restart the game page after each change. That makes it possible to identify a change that helped or made frame pacing worse.

1. Update the browser
- Chrome: open the three-dot menu, choose Help → About Google Chrome, install any update, and relaunch.
- Microsoft Edge: open the three-dot menu, choose Help and feedback → About Microsoft Edge, install the update, and restart.
- Firefox: open the application menu, choose Help → About Firefox, allow the update to finish, and restart.
A current browser can include fixes for WebGL, WebGPU, video-driver compatibility, and process scheduling. Updating does not prove that Tenderloin Night Shift itself will run faster; it only removes an outdated-browser variable.
2. Update the graphics driver from a trusted source
Install the latest driver offered for your GPU through Windows Update or the GPU manufacturer’s official support channel. Restart Windows after installation. If the problem began immediately after a driver update, use the manufacturer’s documented rollback option rather than downloading an unofficial “gaming” driver. The reports about Tenderloin Night Shift do not identify a driver version that is known to work.
3. Test with extensions disabled
Content blockers, script managers, screen recorders, password tools, and shopping overlays can inject code into a game page or consume CPU time. Open a private window with extensions disabled, or create a clean browser profile, then load the page there. If stutter disappears, re-enable extensions individually until you find the conflict. Private browsing is a diagnostic comparison, not a permanent requirement.

4. Close competing tabs and applications
Close video streams, web-based editors, extra game tabs, and applications that capture or overlay the screen. In Windows, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager and inspect the Processes tab while the game is running. Sort by CPU, Memory, and GPU, and close only programs you recognize and do not need. Do not terminate Windows or security processes merely because they appear near the top of the list.

Browser graphics implementations differ. Load the same page in one other up-to-date browser with extensions disabled. Keep the window size, zoom, and other conditions the same. If only one browser stutters, the result points to a browser or hardware-acceleration interaction rather than a confirmed game setting. If all browsers behave the same, continue with system checks below.
6. Return zoom and window scaling to a neutral baseline
Set the page zoom to 100% with Ctrl + 0. A zoomed page can increase the number of pixels the browser must draw. Test a normal window and fullscreen separately; some systems perform better in one mode, but there is no documented Tenderloin Night Shift fullscreen or resolution setting to recommend.

7. Test hardware acceleration in both states
Hardware acceleration normally sends WebGL or canvas work to the GPU, but a driver conflict can cause hitching. Change the setting, fully restart the browser, and retest:
- Chrome: Settings → System → Use graphics acceleration when available.
- Edge: Settings → System and performance → Use graphics acceleration when available.
- Firefox: Settings → General → Performance, clear Use recommended performance settings, then test Use hardware acceleration when available on and off.
Keep whichever state produces steadier behavior on your machine. This is a general browser experiment, not a game-certified fix.
8. Remove stale site data only when loading is corrupted
If the page repeatedly freezes during loading, clear data for that site and reload it. In Chromium-based browsers, open the site, select the padlock or tune icon beside the address, choose Site settings, and use Clear data. In Firefox, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data, search for the host, and remove its entry. Clearing data can erase local preferences or a saved session; it does not install a missing game patch.

9. Use an appropriate Windows power and display mode
For a laptop, connect the AC adapter and select Settings → System → Power & battery → Power mode → Best performance while testing. Under Settings → System → Display → Graphics, you can add the browser and choose a GPU preference on systems with integrated and discrete graphics. These choices increase power use and heat, so restore a balanced mode when finished if battery life matters.
10. Check heat, throttling, and recording overlays
Stutter that starts after several minutes can indicate thermal or power throttling. Make sure vents are unobstructed, temporarily disable recording and overlay features, and watch Task Manager’s CPU and GPU utilization during a slowdown. A utilization spike identifies contention, not the exact cause. Do not infer an expected FPS from these readings because no benchmark for this project is published.

Browser developer tools can show errors, but an error message is not automatically a frame-rate diagnosis. Treat console warnings as clues and avoid pasting unknown commands into the developer console.

Things that are unlikely to help
- Steam launch options or configuration-file edits: no supported Steam build or documented configuration file is established.
- Deleting a supposed shader cache: no game-specific shader-cache location or procedure is published.
- “FPS booster” downloads and browser extensions: they add another source of CPU use and security risk without evidence of an official connection to the project.
- Forcing an arbitrary frame cap: there is no documented in-game cap to override, and an external limiter cannot repair a failed or unavailable host.
- Assuming a high-end GPU guarantees a result: the project has no published requirements or benchmark against which to compare hardware.
What to compare if the project returns
A future release should be evaluated as a new build, not assumed to be identical to the removed project. Before troubleshooting, record the version and obtain its release notes or support page. These are the comparisons that would make a real performance guide possible:

When to stop troubleshooting
Stop changing your system when the page is no longer hosted, when only an unverified download remains, or when the same symptom appears across browsers after the basic checks. At that point there is no documented game-side fix to apply. Preserve your notes—host, browser version, driver version, and symptom pattern—in case an authenticated re-release provides a support channel. Do not trade system security for an unofficial patch.
Bottom line
Tenderloin Night Shift has no published, tested remedy for stuttering or low FPS. It was a browser multiplayer project that was reportedly removed, and its reporting supplies neither requirements nor performance measurements. If a legitimate browser copy still works, update the browser and driver, test without extensions, close competing workloads, compare another browser, reset zoom, and test hardware acceleration in both states. Treat every result as general browser troubleshooting until an official re-release documents its own settings and support information.
