Start by installing the latest Dragon’s Dogma 2 update, then test again in the same area where the stutter or frame drop occurs. Capcom’s September 2, 2026 announcement says Title Update 3.2 includes frame-rate improvements and changes some PC system requirements—but it does not promise to eliminate every performance problem. If you play on PC, the safest next steps are to identify the type of slowdown, temporarily close overlays and recording apps, let shader cache finish compiling after graphics changes, and lower settings one at a time.
Update the game and identify what is happening
Install the latest update available for your platform, restart the game, and revisit the same area or situation. Capcom’s September 2, 2026 announcement describes Title Update 3.2 as including “frame-rate improvements” (translated from Capcom’s Japanese press release). An update can improve performance without removing every hitch on every system.
Before changing settings, distinguish a consistently low frame rate from brief stutters or drops that occur mainly in graphics-intensive scenes or populated areas. Note your platform, game version, PC CPU and GPU, RAM, resolution, graphics settings, and whether overlays or frame generation are active. This baseline makes it easier to tell whether a reversible change helped.
Try these PC troubleshooting steps in order
1. Close overlays and recording applications
Temporarily close screen-recording software and performance overlays, then retest. Capcom’s troubleshooting guidance warns that resource-consuming applications and some recording apps or performance overlays can compromise performance and stability. 2. Give shader cache time after graphics changes
If you recently changed graphics hardware or made other PC graphics changes, do not judge performance only by the first moments after the change. Capcom notes that shader cache may take time to compile. Let the game run long enough for that process to settle, then compare the same scene again. The guidance does not specify a fixed wait time.
3. Lower graphics settings one at a time
Capcom advises lowering settings when the frame rate is unstable. Change one setting, retest in the same location, and record the result before changing another. 4. Check requirements for your installed game version
Capcom’s Steam FAQ, last updated July 20, 2026, lists 16 GB of RAM for both minimum and recommended PC specifications. Its minimum configuration is an Intel Core i5-10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8 GB of VRAM. Capcom estimates 1080p/30 fps for that minimum specification and cautions that “Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes.” These are figures from the July 2026 FAQ, not confirmed post-Title Update 3.2 requirements: Capcom announced updated PC requirements on September 2, 2026, so check the current listing for your installed version before drawing conclusions from the older figures. Ray tracing has a separate requirement in that July FAQ: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800. This is a feature-specific figure, not a general recommendation to buy either card to fix stuttering.

5. Disable multi-GPU modes while diagnosing
Capcom’s FAQ recommends disabling NVIDIA SLI or ATI CrossFire because these configurations may cause compatibility issues. Treat this as a compatibility check, not a guaranteed fix for all frame drops. Capcom Support’s Steam FAQ
6. Test DLSS Frame Generation only if available to you
Capcom added DLSS Frame Generation to the in-game Graphics options in a Steam update on May 30, 2024. If your hardware supports it, you can test it as an optional setting and compare the same scene. What console players can try
PC-specific steps such as closing computer overlays, managing shader cache, or disabling SLI and CrossFire do not transfer directly to consoles. Install the latest game update and review the display or performance options available in your game. The cited Capcom guidance does not provide a separate console troubleshooting procedure, so avoid assuming that a PC setting or hardware requirement applies to a console.

Include your platform and game version; on PC, add CPU, GPU, and RAM; and note your resolution, settings, where the problem occurs, whether overlays or frame generation are enabled, and any recent hardware or graphics configuration changes.

Make reversible changes first and compare the same scene. The official guidance cited here does not establish that a driver rollback, registry edit, third-party optimizer, or mod is a fix, so those are not reliable next steps to assume.
