If Samsung Internet crashes, loads slowly, or will not open a page, first check whether the problem affects one website, the browser, or your whole Galaxy device. Then work through low-risk fixes: test your connection, reload and close tabs, check site settings, update the browser and device, and clear data only when needed. Menu names can vary by Galaxy model, app version, and One UI release; use the equivalent setting shown on your device.
First find out what is failing
Before changing settings or deleting data, compare the problem’s scope. A single page that fails points to a different troubleshooting path than every website failing or the entire phone becoming unresponsive.

These checks help narrow down the scope; they do not by themselves prove the cause. Samsung’s browser troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking the Wi-Fi connection for web-related problems.
Refresh Samsung Internet and reduce open tabs
- Reload the page that is stuck or not displaying.
- Close tabs you no longer need. Samsung recommends closing tabs when its browser is slow or lagging.
- Close Samsung Internet, open it again, and retry the page.
If the problem remains, continue to the settings and update checks rather than repeatedly reloading.

Check JavaScript and cookies for pages that will not display or sign in
Some websites need JavaScript to render interactive content, and some require cookies to keep a session or complete sign-in. Samsung lists both settings among its steps for browser problems and notes that sites may not work when cookies are blocked.
- Open Samsung Internet and its menu, then choose Settings.
- Find the site or privacy settings for JavaScript and make sure it is enabled if the affected site requires it.
- Review cookie settings if a page will not load properly or sign-in fails. If appropriate, adjust the setting for the affected site or temporarily allow cookies, then retest.
Do not treat allowing all cookies permanently as a universal fix: cookie controls affect privacy, and a site-specific adjustment may be enough. Samsung’s cookie settings guidance explains the controls and notes that some sites need cookies.

Install available browser and Galaxy software updates
An update can address browser or system problems. Samsung recommends checking both device software and the browser app; availability and labels can differ by device and region.
- Open Settings on the Galaxy device and look for Software update. Install an available update by following the on-screen instructions.
- Check Galaxy Store or Google Play Store for an update to Samsung Internet, if the app is offered there on your device.
- Reopen the browser and test the same page.
Clear Samsung Internet browsing data selectively
For a slow browser or a page that appears stale, clear cached images and files first. This removes locally stored copies used to load pages; it is a smaller step than removing cookies or resetting the app.

- In Samsung Internet, open Menu > Settings > Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data. Follow the equivalent labels if your version differs.
- Select Cached images and files, then confirm deletion.
- Reopen the affected page. If the issue is specifically a sign-in or site-data problem, consider clearing cookies or site data as a separate step.
Clearing cookies or site data can sign you out of websites, so be prepared to sign in again. Leave saved passwords and autofill unselected unless you deliberately want to remove them. Samsung describes these browser cleanup steps in its browser troubleshooting guidance.
Clear the app cache only if browser cleanup did not help
Android’s app cache is separate from the browsing-data controls inside Samsung Internet. Clearing the app cache is a reasonable next step; clearing app data is more disruptive.

- Open Settings > Apps > Samsung Internet > Storage.
- Tap Clear cache, then reopen Samsung Internet and test it.
Samsung notes that app-management menus vary with software and the selected app. Use the equivalent storage screen if the path differs. Do not choose Clear data as though it were the same as clearing cache: Samsung says that action resets the app to factory-default settings and removes personal settings or data saved in it. If the slowdown or nonresponsive behavior began after installing or updating a content blocker, temporarily disable that blocker and retry the browser; update the blocker if an update is available. Re-enable it if the test makes no difference.

Samsung published a Canadian notice connecting some ad-blocking apps with a historical slow-loading or nonresponsive-browser symptom. That notice does not establish that blockers are a widespread current cause or that they cause every crash, so treat this only as a targeted compatibility test: Samsung’s Canadian notice.
Check the Galaxy device if more than the browser is affected
If apps beyond Samsung Internet are slow or the device is unresponsive, close apps running in the background, check device performance and memory, and restart the phone or tablet. Samsung’s device troubleshooting guidance includes device-care steps and diagnostics where available.
Send an error report or contact Samsung
If Samsung Internet still crashes or fails after the relevant checks, submit an error report so Samsung can review the issue. Samsung’s app-issues instructions give this route:
- Open the Samsung Internet menu and choose Settings.
- Tap Contact us > Error reports.
- Choose the applicable contact or error-report option, describe what happened, and leave system log data enabled when submitting.
If the wider device remains slow or unresponsive, open Samsung Members and run Phone diagnostics if available on your device. You can also contact Samsung Support. Samsung’s browser and device guidance is available in its browser issue instructions and device troubleshooting steps.
