There is no verified universal button fix for Roco Kingdom’s ball-throwing problem yet. The game is still in testing and pre-registration, and published materials do not identify the throw input, aiming method, timing window, or reason a throw can be rejected. The most reliable approach is to use the prompt shown by your current build, isolate the failed action in a controlled encounter, and report reproducible failures through the test’s official customer-support channel.

This guide covers the PC, iOS and Android test versions, including the Quack Quack Test scheduled for August 26 through October 20, 2026. Controls and localization can change before launch, so treat the instructions displayed in your own build as authoritative.

What is confirmed about the ball-throwing issue

Roco Kingdom is presented as an open-world creature-collecting game in which more than 400 unique Jinies roam the world. The official 2026 site shows pre-registration and test access for PC, iOS and Android. The published event rules identify the Quack Quack Test period as August 26–October 20, 2026.

The beta information also warns that test language and localization may not match final launch quality. Testers are asked to send bugs or unexpected behavior to customer support. That matters here because an untranslated label, an incomplete tutorial prompt or a changed control map can look like a broken throw.

Current authoritative coverage does not establish any of the following:

  • A specific keyboard key, controller button or touch gesture.
  • Whether aiming and throwing are separate actions.
  • Whether the action is a tap, hold, charged release or another input.
  • A required distance, target health, timing window or capture percentage.
  • Whether a rejected throw consumes a ball.
  • A guaranteed ball type or creature condition that always succeeds.

Trailer footage appears to show successful capture effects as well as a throw that is rejected or returned. The footage does not explain which condition caused the rejection, so it cannot be used to prove a particular key, timing trick or capture rule.

Run this diagnostic sequence first

Follow the steps in order. Change one factor at a time and record what happens; changing several settings at once makes a test result impossible to interpret.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Start a genuine wild encounter. Free exploration and other interactions may not expose the capture action. Wait until a wild Jini is clearly targeted and the encounter interface is active.
  2. Verify that a ball is selected. Open the encounter’s item or ball selector and confirm that a usable ball is highlighted. If the selector is empty, close and reopen it rather than assuming the throw input is at fault.
  3. Finish any competing animation. Do not test while the character is climbing, attacking, talking, collecting, opening a menu or recovering from another interaction. Wait for the character and target to return to an idle state.
  4. Inspect the input menus. Check menus labeled Controls, Controller, Key Bindings, Input and Accessibility. Search for actions named Throw, Ball, Capture, Aim or similar. Write down the exact prompt displayed for your platform and control device.
  5. Replay the first capture tutorial. Tutorial prompts are currently the best way to distinguish a throw action from camera movement, interaction, cancellation or aiming. If the prompt disappears, restart the tutorial or replay the encounter if the build allows it.
  6. Separate aiming from throwing. In a safe encounter, keep the target centered and avoid moving immediately before the attempt. Look for a reticle, trajectory line, target highlight, charge indicator or release prompt. Do not assume that a longer hold or a particular release percentage has a known effect; no published source verifies one.
  7. Check the state of the target. If the ball is rejected or returns, check line of sight, whether the Jini is still targetable, and whether it has just attacked or entered another animation. Repeat the attempt after the target is idle, changing only one condition.
  8. Check inventory before and after. Count the selected balls, perform one attempt, then check the count again. The available documentation does not establish whether a failed throw consumes a ball, so record what your build actually does.

If the action still does nothing, capture the platform, build number, exact on-screen prompt or error, and a short reproduction sequence. Submit those details through the official customer-support route for the test.

Diagnose the symptom you actually see

Observed symptom Checks to perform What is established
No ball appears Confirm a wild encounter, select a ball, finish other animations, then inspect the current control prompt. No published source identifies the required input or proves that the selector should appear in every interaction.
Nothing happens after an input Replay the capture tutorial; check whether the input is assigned to aim, camera, interact or cancel instead of throw. Test-build mappings may change, and localization may be incomplete.
The ball launches but comes back Keep the target centered, restore line of sight, wait for an idle target and repeat one-variable tests. Trailer footage shows a returned or rejected throw but gives no confirmed cause.
The throw works once and then stops Check ball inventory, target state, character animation and whether the encounter has ended or changed phase. There is no verified rule for a limited number of attempts or a required capture state.
The prompt differs from a guide or video Use the prompt in your own build; note platform, input device, language and build number when reporting it. Published materials do not promise identical controls across PC, iOS and Android test versions.

Platform-specific checks without guessing the control

PC

Use the game’s own key-binding or controller screen rather than a third-party key list. If a controller and keyboard are connected simultaneously, move only one device during a test so you can tell which prompt is active. If the game displays a controller icon while you are pressing keys, switch the active device in the input menu if that option exists, then repeat the tutorial. Record whether the throw prompt changes when the device changes.

iOS

Keep the phone or tablet still during the test and make sure the complete touch interface is visible. A touch area can be obscured by a system gesture region, a notification or a temporary overlay. Reopen the encounter after dismissing overlays, then follow the on-screen prompt exactly. If a physical gamepad is paired, verify which input scheme the build displays before comparing it with touch controls.

Android

Use the same process: confirm the encounter, select a ball, identify the displayed touch or gamepad prompt and test while no other overlay is present. Android devices vary in aspect ratio and system gesture settings, so document the device model, Android version and whether a controller or remapping utility is active when you report a failure.

These checks do not establish a hidden universal button. They simply prevent a device-specific input conflict from being mistaken for a capture rule.

Use a controlled encounter to isolate the cause

A reproducible test is more useful than repeated random throws. Choose a calm wild encounter and use this sequence:

  1. Stand still until the character is idle.
  2. Center the target and confirm that the target highlight or encounter indicator remains visible.
  3. Observe the interface for an aim, throw or release prompt.
  4. Perform exactly one prompted input.
  5. Wait for the complete result: successful capture effect, rejected throw, returned ball, no animation or an error message.
  6. Check the ball count and note whether the target’s state changed.
  7. Repeat only after changing one variable, such as distance, line of sight, target animation or input device.

A simple log can use columns for time, platform, build, device, target state, selected ball, prompt text, input used, result and inventory count. Include a short screen recording when possible, but avoid recording account credentials or personal information.

What a returned or rejected ball does—and does not—tell you

A returned ball proves only that the attempt did not complete as a capture in that instance. It does not prove that the target was too strong, that a health threshold was missed, that the wrong ball was used or that a particular release timing is required. None of those rules is documented in the currently available authoritative material.

  • Movement branch: stop moving before aiming and keep the target centered.
  • Inventory branch: compare the ball count before and after the attempt.
  • Input branch: repeat the same encounter with the exact prompt shown by the build, not a control copied from another platform.

If only one branch changes the result, include that observation in your report, but describe it as an observation from your build rather than a guaranteed game rule.

Check whether the build consumed a ball

Players often interpret a missing ball as proof that the throw was accepted, or a returned ball as proof that it was refunded. The available documentation establishes neither behavior. Before testing, record the selected ball and quantity. After one attempt finishes completely, reopen the inventory and record the quantity again. Repeat once only if the first count is ambiguous.

Do not infer capture odds from a single attempt. The published material provides no capture percentage, no health requirement and no verified relationship between ball type and success.

Report a persistent failure effectively

Customer support can act on a reproducible report much faster than “throwing is broken.” Include:

  • Platform: PC, iOS or Android.
  • Device and operating-system version; for PC, include the controller or keyboard model if relevant.
  • Game build or test version shown by the client.
  • Account or test-region details only when the support form requests them.
  • Exact prompt text, including untranslated or unusual wording.
  • Whether the encounter was wild, whether a ball was selected and whether another animation was active.
  • The precise input sequence and whether the target was centered and visible.
  • Result: no response, returned ball, error, successful capture or another animation.
  • Ball inventory count before and after the attempt.
  • A short reproduction list and, if safe, a screen recording or screenshots.

Use the official support route provided inside the test client or in the beta information. The beta guidance specifically asks testers to submit bugs and unexpected behavior there.

Claims you should not rely on

How to compare controls when later builds expose more options

If a future update adds clearer mappings or multiple input methods, compare the options using the same encounter and test log. The useful comparison points are:

Comparison axis Question to answer
Device mapping Does the same action appear consistently on keyboard, controller and touch?
Action separation Are aiming and throwing separate commands, or does one action perform both?
Input style Does a tap, hold or release produce a different documented behavior?
Aiming feedback Is there a reticle, trajectory, target highlight or charge indicator?
Failure cost Does a rejected attempt consume a ball?
Cross-platform consistency Does the same prompt and behavior appear on PC, iOS and Android?

Record the build and date alongside every comparison. That keeps a later control change from being mistaken for a player error.

Frequently asked questions

Does lowering a Jini’s health improve the throw?

No published source establishes a health threshold or capture formula, so treat that as unverified unless the game itself explains it.
