Fix Replaced in this order: restart the phone, update the operating system and game, check permissions and storage, then force-stop and reopen the app. For lag, compare Wi-Fi with cellular data after closing other apps. Before clearing data or reinstalling, verify the account that stores your progress; an unlinked local save may not be recoverable. If a new save works but an older save still crashes, preserve the old file and report possible save corruption to the developer.
Use the least destructive fix first
A crash, a frozen screen, a failed download, and network lag can look similar but need different checks. Start with actions that do not erase game data. Google Play Help recommends restarting the phone, installing Android and app updates, force-stopping the app, and clearing cache or data only when appropriate. It also advises restarting after each step so you can identify which change helped.

No reliable published statistic establishes how often Replaced crashes, lags, or loses saves, and no Replaced-specific minimum specifications, bug IDs, or recovery rate are established here. Do not treat a general mobile troubleshooting step as proof of a particular Replaced bug.
Separate a crash, freeze, download failure, and lag
Crash
A crash is an unexpected return to the phone’s home screen, an app window that disappears, or a visible error followed by closure. Note whether it happens at launch, while loading a level, after opening a menu, or at a repeatable action. A repeatable location is especially useful to the developer.

Freeze
A freeze leaves the game open but unresponsive. Wait briefly to make sure a large load is not still progressing, then use the app switcher or force-stop command rather than repeatedly tapping the screen. Riot’s mobile troubleshooting guidance separates a frozen game from a crash and recommends restarting the device, checking permissions, and force-stopping the game.
Download failure
If the game or an in-game package will not download, check the connection, free storage, permissions, and pending operating-system or store updates. A download problem is not evidence that an existing save is corrupt.
Lag
Lag can mean network delay, a low or unstable frame rate, delayed touch response, or pauses while assets load. Compare the same action on Wi-Fi and cellular data, close other apps, and note whether the delay affects online actions only or also occurs in offline menus. There is no Replaced-specific benchmark in the available evidence, so do not assume a particular frame-rate improvement from any one setting.

Write down the phone model, operating-system version, Replaced version, free storage, and the date the problem began. Record whether it started immediately after an OS or game update, whether it happens online or offline, and whether every save or only one save is affected. Capture the exact error text and, if practical, a short screen recording. This information prevents you from losing the useful details when a restart temporarily hides the symptom.
Safe troubleshooting sequence
1. Restart the game and phone
- Exit Replaced. If it is frozen, open the recent-apps or app-switcher view and dismiss it.
- Restart the phone normally. Do not begin by deleting the app or its data.
- Launch Replaced before reopening other demanding apps and check whether the same action still fails.
Google Play Help’s wording is to restart the phone after each troubleshooting step. That makes the result easier to interpret and clears temporary processes that can keep an app unstable.

2. Install pending updates
On Android, open the Play Store, select your profile picture, choose Manage apps & device, and install any Replaced update. Then open Settings > System > System update (the label can vary by manufacturer) and apply an available Android update. Restart before testing again.
On iPhone, open the App Store, tap your account icon, and install a listed Replaced update. Check Settings > General > Software Update for iOS updates, install one if available, and restart. If the game was updated immediately before the problem began, note that timing in your report rather than repeatedly reinstalling.

Close background games, video apps, screen recorders, and other software that is actively using memory, CPU, or network bandwidth. Check available storage in the phone’s storage settings. A nearly full device can prevent updates, temporary files, or downloaded game assets from being written. Free space by removing items you can restore elsewhere; do not delete Replaced’s data until its save is protected.
4. Review permissions
On Android, open Settings > Apps > Replaced > Permissions and review any permission marked denied. Enable only permissions the game actually needs, then relaunch it. The exact list differs by release and device.
On iPhone, open Settings, scroll to Replaced, and review the switches shown for the app. Also check Settings > Privacy & Security if a required permission is managed there. Riot’s guidance specifically includes checking permissions as part of mobile crash troubleshooting.

5. Force-stop or force-close the app
On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Replaced > Force stop, confirm, and open the game again. On iPhone, open the app switcher and swipe Replaced away, then launch it again. Force-stopping removes a stuck process; it does not repair a damaged save and should not be confused with clearing data.

6. Test the connection when the symptom is lag or a failed download
- Run the same in-game action on a stable Wi-Fi connection.
- Repeat it on cellular data if your plan and coverage allow.
- Return to Wi-Fi and close other apps that stream, sync, or download.
- Note whether menus and offline play are smooth while online actions remain delayed.
If the problem follows one network, investigate that network rather than deleting game data. If it follows the phone on both networks, include that distinction in the developer report. Avoid claiming a specific FPS gain: no controlled Replaced test establishes one.
Clear cache without deleting the save
Android commonly separates temporary cache from stored app data. After confirming the correct account and save status, open Settings > Apps > Replaced > Storage & cache and choose Clear cache. Reopen the game and test. Cache clearing may remove downloaded temporary files, so the next launch can take longer or download assets again.
Do not select Clear storage or Clear data at this stage. Those commands can remove local settings and local saves. On iPhone there is no general system-wide clear-cache button; closing the app, restarting, or using Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Replaced > Offload App are different actions. Offloading removes the app while retaining documents when iOS can do so, but it is not a guarantee of recovery for an unlinked game save. Treat any storage-removal option as a save-risk decision.
Protect progress before clearing data or uninstalling
Verify the account, not just the email you expect
Open the game’s account or sign-in screen and confirm the exact account currently active. If the game uses a platform gaming account, verify that the same account is active in the platform app. Google Play Games says some games autosave when you are signed in, but not all games do; signing in alone is not proof that Replaced has uploaded the current save.

Distinguish linked and local progress

Never promise that an unlinked local save can be restored. If the game provides a player ID, cloud indicator, export, or account-link control, record it before troubleshooting further. Do not sign out, switch accounts, or start a destructive reset while trying to test a different login.
Use a new save to test possible corruption
Only perform this test after preserving the original save and confirming that you can return to its account. Start a new game or new save slot and repeat the action that previously crashed.
- If the new save also crashes at the same point, the cause is more likely the app, device, permissions, storage, or a general compatibility problem.
- If the new save works while the old save consistently crashes, treat the old file as potentially corrupted. Stop testing on the original slot so you do not overwrite useful evidence.
- If one slot fails but another slot works, report the slot-specific behavior, the point at which it fails, and the save’s approximate creation date.
Aspyr’s mobile support guidance warns that save files can occasionally become corrupted and may be impossible to recover. That is why this is a diagnostic comparison, not a promise that creating a new save repairs the old one.

Reinstallation can replace damaged program files, but it is destructive when progress is stored only on the device. Supercell’s support guidance describes reinstalling as something that sometimes helps with crashes and says it should be the last resort; it also requires a connected account before uninstalling to reload progress. EA similarly warns that reinstalling without a backup can permanently lose game data.
Android
- Confirm the active Replaced account and any cloud-save or game-account link.
- Write down the player ID and capture screenshots of relevant account or save screens.
- Uninstall Replaced from the app icon or from Settings > Apps > Replaced > Uninstall.
- Restart the phone, install Replaced again from the same store account, and allow the initial download to finish on a stable connection.
- Sign in to the identical game or platform account before starting a new game. Check whether the previous progress appears.
iPhone
- Confirm the account and save link first; an Apple ID purchase record is not automatically proof of game-save backup.
- Record the player ID and any visible sync information.
- Touch and hold Replaced, choose Remove App, then Delete App, or use Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Replaced > Delete App.
- Restart the iPhone, reinstall Replaced from the App Store, and sign in to the same in-game account.
- Wait for synchronization to complete before creating a replacement save.
If no progress returns after a correctly linked-account sign-in, stop repeating reinstalls. The developer needs to determine whether the account ever received the save.

What to do when the problem began after an update
Keep the version numbers from your initial notes. Test once after the restart and update sequence, then check whether the failure affects all saves, only an older save, or only online play. Do not downgrade through unofficial packages: they can introduce incompatible files and create an additional save risk. A precise report that says the phone model, OS version, game version, update date, network type, and reproduction steps is more useful than repeatedly resetting the app.
Escalate a persistent one-app failure
Google Play Help advises contacting the developer when one app remains broken after the standard checks. Contact support when Replaced alone continues to crash or freeze while other apps work normally, when a reproducible save causes the failure, or when progress does not return after a verified account sign-in.
Include:
- Phone model and operating-system version.
- Replaced version and the date it was installed or updated.
- Whether the issue is a crash, freeze, download failure, or lag, and whether it occurs online or offline.
- Exact reproduction steps, including the save slot or level if relevant.
- Available storage, connection type, and whether Wi-Fi and cellular tests differ.
- Account or player ID information requested by the developer, but never send a password.
- Crash logs or screen recordings only through the developer’s official support process.
State which steps you already completed and what changed after each one. If a new save works but the original does not, say so explicitly and ask whether the original save can be inspected. Do not delete the original file while support is investigating.

Limits of what can be promised
There is no established Replaced-specific crash prevalence, minimum phone specification, known bug identifier, guaranteed FPS improvement, or published save-recovery rate in the available evidence. General Android and iPhone steps can resolve temporary app or device conditions, but they cannot guarantee recovery of an unlinked local save or repair a genuinely corrupted file. The safest approach is therefore staged: diagnose without erasing data, verify the account, test a separate save, and only then consider reinstalling.
