For casting, verify that both devices use the same Wi-Fi network and have a strong signal; if playback is choppy, freezing, or skipping, Paramount+ recommends reconnecting both devices after power-cycling your router. For an app crash on an LG TV, use the LG-specific restart and update steps below.
First, narrow down where playback fails
Try to establish whether the problem is limited to one movie or affects other titles, and whether it happens on one device or more than one. This is a practical way to distinguish a title-specific or device-specific issue from a broader playback problem; it is not a diagnostic test prescribed by Paramount+.
Also note whether you are playing directly in the Paramount+ app or casting from a phone or other device. Paramount+ provides separate help paths for streaming video, casting, Apple TV video, and error codes, so a fix for one setup may not apply to another. If you are casting to Chromecast
Check the network on both devices
Make sure the Chromecast and the device you are casting from are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Check that the Wi-Fi signal is strong where both devices are located. These checks are especially relevant if casting will not connect or the video is unstable.

Reconnect both devices after restarting the router
- Disconnect the device you are casting from and the Chromecast from Wi-Fi.
- Power-cycle your router.
- Reconnect both devices to Wi-Fi, making sure they are on the same network.
- Try playing the movie again.
Paramount+ lists these steps for choppy, freezing, or skipping Chromecast video; they are not a guaranteed fix for every playback failure. Its Chromecast casting guidance also recommends keeping the Paramount+ app up to date, so check for an available app update if casting remains unreliable.
If the Paramount+ app crashes on an LG TV
Paramount+ lists LG TVs running webOS 4.0 or higher on 2018–current models as supported. For an app crash on an LG TV, its guidance is to unplug the TV for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and relaunch the app. It also recommends checking for software updates using the LG instructions in its LG TV troubleshooting guide. These instructions are specific to LG TVs, not a universal restart procedure for every television or streaming device.

When to contact Paramount+ support
If the movie still will not play after the steps that match your setup, contact Paramount+ support and describe what you tried, whether other titles play, and whether you are using direct app playback or casting. For LG TV streaming problems, Paramount+ says support may need your IP address or device ID. To find the device ID in the app, open Settings > Support.
If an error code appears, note it exactly and use Paramount+’s error-code help topic rather than treating every code as a buffering issue. The Help Center lists error-code troubleshooting separately from general streaming and casting help.
