Most Taubound failures fall into one of four paths: cross-play or squad matchmaking, Strict NAT or conflicting UDP ports, an unstable connection flagged as NETWORK NOT RESPONDING, or a Duviri mission-state problem that appears during loading or after host migration. Identify the transition where the run fails before changing settings.
Start by recording your platform, Cross Platform Play setting, squad size, exact mission transition, and whether the symptom is an empty Public Matchmaking queue, an infinite loading screen, a host-migration disconnect, or a return to the Orbiter. Then test cross-play consistency, check NAT, resolve PC port conflicts, and update the game. This order separates a local network problem from a repeatable game-state failure.
Identify the failure before changing settings
The same Taubound symptom can have different causes. A squad that cannot see one another points toward matchmaking, NAT, or cross-play. A warning that appears while other online services also fail points toward the connection itself. A loading tunnel that always follows host migration is more consistent with a mission-state or host-transition problem.

Keep the notes while testing. Changing several variables at once makes it impossible to tell whether the fix was cross-play, NAT, a port conflict, or a game update.

Run the quick matchmaking checks
- Check the game build. Install the current Warframe update on every player’s platform. Official Duviri patch notes have recorded fixes for rare matchmaking failures, clients stuck in a loading tunnel after host migration, and other state-transition errors. An old client can therefore reproduce a problem that has already been corrected.
- Open the game’s Options menu and record Cross Platform Play. The setting controls whether players on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile can enter missions together through squads or Public Matchmaking. Have every player write down whether the toggle is enabled or disabled before each test.
- Try a direct invite. A direct invite that works while Public Matchmaking remains empty narrows the issue to matchmaking conditions rather than proving that the mission itself is broken. If both methods fail, continue with NAT and connection checks.
- Compare a same-platform squad. Test with players on the same platform, preserving the same mission and host where possible. Then repeat with Cross Platform Play enabled. A failure that exists only in the mixed-platform test is useful evidence for support, but it is not by itself proof of a Taubound-specific bug.
- Retest the exact transition. Begin from the same entry point and note whether the failure occurs in Teshin’s Cave, at a portal, on entry to the Undercroft, during extraction, or immediately after host migration.
Do not assume that switching cross-play off is a permanent fix. Use it as an isolation test, then report the platform combination and the setting used when the failure occurred.
Fix cross-play and squad mismatches
Cross Platform Play is changed in Warframe’s Options menu. It supports missions across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile, but all players need to know which state they are testing. If one player changes the setting while others leave it unchanged, the result is not a controlled comparison.
Use a controlled two-test comparison
- Have all players enable Cross Platform Play, restart the squad attempt, and record whether Public Matchmaking finds a session.
- Use a direct invite with the same players and mission. Record whether the invite reaches the squad and whether the failure moves to loading.
- Have all players disable Cross Platform Play, then test a same-platform squad if one is available.
- Keep the host and mission entry point consistent. A change from Teshin’s Cave to a different Duviri route changes the game state and weakens the comparison.
If same-platform play succeeds but the mixed-platform attempt fails, include the platform list, Cross Platform Play state, squad size, and the exact transition in a support report. If neither test works, cross-play is unlikely to be the only cause; proceed to NAT and connection checks.

Resolve Strict NAT and router conditions
Warframe’s Strict NAT warning is significant, not cosmetic. The official description says: "Warframe has detected your network is suffering from a Strict NAT, this will cause you problems when connecting to games, using voice chat or seeing friends on your contact list as online." That symptom can therefore affect matchmaking, voice communication, and the friends list at the same time.
Check whether multiple devices are involved
Several PCs or consoles behind the same home network can contribute to a Strict NAT condition. Re-test after identifying how many devices are running Warframe or other applications that create NAT mappings. Do not treat a successful web connection as proof that peer connections for a game will work.

Follow the router branch that matches your equipment
Warframe’s Strict NAT guidance provides separate branches for multiple devices, UPnP or NAT-PMP, router settings, and routers that cannot be changed. Use the branch that matches your setup rather than applying random port-forwarding values from an unrelated guide. If your router is managed by a landlord, school, workplace, mobile provider, or another organization, you may not have the controls needed to change its NAT behavior.
After any router or UPnP/NAT-PMP change, restart the game and repeat the same matchmaking test. Record whether the warning disappears, whether friends become visible, and whether the failure now occurs only during loading. A NAT change that fixes the contact list but leaves a host-migration loading tunnel indicates that more than one issue may be present.
Clear UDP port conflicts on PC
Warframe’s official Ports In Use page states: "WARFRAME USES UDP PORTS 4950 AND 4955 by default." Another application using those ports can interfere with the contact list, matchmaking, and voice communication.
Change the ports from Warframe
- Launch Warframe and open Options.
- Open Gameplay.
- Find Network Ports [UDP].
- Change the values from the defaults to free UDP ports available on the PC and network.
- Apply the setting, restart the game, and repeat the same Taubound matchmaking test.
The exact free values depend on the other software and network equipment on your PC; do not copy a value that is already in use. If you cannot identify a conflict, close unnecessary background applications before testing.
Pay attention to torrent and NAT-PMP software
Torrent applications and other programs that use NAT-PMP can compete for network mappings or the same UDP resources. Close them completely, including background or tray processes, then restart Warframe. If the problem returns only when one of those applications is running, you have a reproducible local conflict to report or reconfigure.

Console and Mobile players do not have the PC control for changing Warframe’s UDP ports. Focus instead on the router’s NAT state, the number of devices sharing the connection, platform details, and evidence for support.

Handle the "NETWORK NOT RESPONDING" warning
Warframe Support defines NETWORK NOT RESPONDING as a case where the network between the player’s PC or console and Warframe’s servers is unstable or takes too long to respond. It is a connection symptom, not a diagnosis that your hardware is defective.
Use the IPv6 diagnostic path
- Run the connection test described by Warframe Support and note whether it identifies an IPv6 problem.
- If the test indicates IPv6 trouble, temporarily disable IPv6 using the operating system or router controls appropriate to your setup.
- Restart the affected network equipment and Warframe, then repeat the same mission transition.
- Re-enable IPv6 if the diagnostic does not indicate a problem or if disabling it does not change the symptom. Do not leave a network feature disabled without a test-based reason.
The diagnostic result matters: disabling IPv6 at random can hide the real cause and makes later troubleshooting harder.
Know when to contact the ISP
If similar connection failures affect other online games or streaming services, the problem is broader than Taubound matchmaking. Contact your internet service provider and supply the time of the failures, the affected services, and the connection-test result. If Warframe is the only affected service, keep working through NAT, ports, cross-play, and mission-state isolation before attributing the issue to the ISP.
Diagnose loading screens and host migration
An infinite loading screen is not automatically a slow internet connection. Duviri’s entry modes are the Duviri Experience, The Lone Story, and The Circuit; each starts from Teshin’s Cave, and The Circuit continues as an endless Undercroft mode. A failure tied to one of those transitions can be a game-state problem even when ordinary online play works.

Test solo versus public play
- Update every client to the current build.
- Enter the same Duviri or Taubound route solo, using the same entry point.
- Repeat it through Public Matchmaking.
- If possible, repeat with a direct invite and a different host.
- Record the first transition at which the loading screen differs.
Solo success with public failure points toward squad, NAT, cross-play, or host state. A solo failure at the same portal or Undercroft transition points more strongly toward a client or game-state issue. A failure that appears only after host migration should be described as such rather than generalized to every loading screen.
When host migration is the trigger
Official Duviri patch notes document a rare bug involving clients stuck in a loading tunnel after host migration. That history means a repeatable post-migration tunnel can be a known class of game-state failure, not evidence that your graphics hardware or home network is inherently incapable of loading the mission. It still requires current-build testing because fixes can change the behavior.
Write down who was host, what happened immediately before migration, whether the client eventually disconnected or returned to the Orbiter, and whether the same sequence works when another player hosts. A host change that moves the failure to a different stage is valuable evidence; it also means the original symptom should not be reported simply as an empty matchmaking queue.

Teshin’s Cave
If the squad fails before leaving Teshin’s Cave, concentrate on matchmaking, cross-play, NAT, and UDP conflicts. Record whether the squad forms at all and whether every player can see the others in the contact list.

A stall at a portal after the squad has formed is a different symptom from an empty queue. Compare direct invite and Public Matchmaking, then test solo entry. Preserve the same host and route so the comparison remains meaningful.

The Undercroft
The Circuit is an endless Undercroft mode. If the failure appears when entering or continuing in the Undercroft, include that exact stage and the selected Duviri mode in the report. Do not describe every Duviri problem as a Circuit problem unless the transition is repeatable there.
Extraction or return to the Orbiter
A disconnect at extraction can follow a network timeout, host transition, or mission-state error. Note whether other squad members complete extraction, whether you receive a connection warning, and whether the game returns normally to the Orbiter on a solo run.
Choose the right troubleshooting path

These patterns are decision aids, not proof of cause. The same account can have a NAT problem and encounter a separate loading bug in the same session.
Prepare a support report that can be acted on
Warframe requests the platform, screenshots or video, and, for PC, the EE.log when investigating reports. A crash report can also provide a WAR number. Include enough context for someone else to reproduce the transition.
Include these facts
- Platform and, when relevant, the platforms of every squad member.
- Cross Platform Play state for each test.
- Squad size, host identity, and whether the test used Public Matchmaking or a direct invite.
- The selected Taubound or Duviri mode and the exact entry point: Teshin’s Cave, portal, Undercroft, extraction, or return to the Orbiter.
- The visible symptom and its wording, including NETWORK NOT RESPONDING or a Strict NAT warning.
- Date and approximate UTC time, plus whether the sequence is repeatable.
- What changed between successful and failed tests, such as a different host, cross-play state, network, or game build.
- Screenshots or a video showing the loading tunnel, disconnect, warning, or matchmaking result.
- For PC, the EE.log; for a crash, the WAR number supplied by the crash reporter.
Do not claim that a Taubound-specific bug is confirmed unless an official notice identifies it. Describe the observed transition precisely and let the reproducible evidence distinguish a network path from a game-state path.
What not to do
- Do not disable Cross Platform Play and call the issue solved without testing the same mission with the setting enabled again.
- Do not change random router or port values while torrent or NAT-PMP software remains active.
- Do not disable IPv6 permanently unless the official diagnostic indicates an IPv6 problem.
- Do not treat one slow loading screen as proof of a hardware failure.
- Do not combine a host-migration tunnel, a Strict NAT warning, and an empty queue into one undifferentiated report.
- Do not invent a loading-time target or resolution percentage; no authoritative average or Taubound-specific success rate is established.
Bottom line for Taubound troubleshooting
Start with the exact failure transition, then test the least invasive explanation: synchronized Cross Platform Play settings and a direct invite. If joining, voice, or contacts are affected, follow the Strict NAT branch and eliminate PC UDP conflicts involving ports 4950 and 4955. For NETWORK NOT RESPONDING, use the IPv6 diagnostic and involve the ISP only when other online services show the same instability. Finally, update the game and compare solo, public, direct-invite, and alternate-host runs. A repeatable failure at a Duviri transition or after host migration should be documented as a game-state symptom with logs and video, not assumed to be a problem with your hardware.
