Start by confirming which FriendSLAP you have. The name currently refers to at least two different projects: Keep It Up!, a four-player co-op game announced by Hitbox Entertainment under the FriendSLAP label, and a separate Double Fine prototype called Friendslap. The 16 October 2026 announcement describes a Steam game, not a confirmed mobile release. If you are trying to use touch controls on a phone or tablet, the controls may be unsupported rather than broken.
For a confirmed installation, identify whether the symptom is network lag, a local device slowdown, an app crash, or ignored touch input. Then restart and update the device and game, test the network, protect your save data, and only afterward clear cache or reinstall.
Confirm which FriendSLAP you are troubleshooting
Do not apply mobile-game fixes until you know the title and platform. An official GamesPress release dated 16 October 2026 uses the FriendSLAP name for Keep It Up!, a Hitbox Entertainment game with four-player co-op, 15 escalating rooms, fans, spikes, lasers, a physics-playground lobby, voice chat, character customization, and a Steam demo/store listing. The announcement also reports more than 500,000 demo downloads. Those are release and feature details, not evidence of an Android or iOS edition or a touchscreen control scheme.
Double Fine’s official Amnesia Fortnight page lists a separate prototype named Friendslap. Builds, controls and support for that prototype cannot be assumed to match the Steam game.

Record the exact title shown in the launcher, storefront or app settings before changing anything. This prevents you from sending the wrong crash report or deleting the wrong installation.
Run a 60-second triage
- Classify the failure. Note whether the whole app closes, the picture freezes, taps are ignored, or the game continues while actions arrive late.
- Test another app. If other apps also stop responding, investigate the device or touchscreen. If only FriendSLAP fails, concentrate on the game installation and developer support.
- Test offline and online behavior. A delay that disappears offline or on another network points toward connectivity. A tap that fails in menus and offline points toward local input or an app defect.
- Check the connection used for multiplayer. Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data where available, restart the router, stop streaming, peer-to-peer transfers and large downloads, and temporarily avoid VPNs.
- Restart, then update. Reboot the phone or computer and install pending operating-system and game updates before making destructive changes.
Full Wi-Fi bars only show signal strength; they do not guarantee a stable route to the game service. The same connection can be strong at the access point and still suffer packet loss or congestion.
Tell network lag from unresponsive touch input

Miniclip’s general troubleshooting guidance states that a poor internet connection can cause disconnections, lag while playing or navigating an interface, and app crashes. That is transferable network guidance, not proof of a FriendSLAP-specific server problem.

Force-stopping an app and clearing a temporary cache are normally reversible. Clearing app data, deleting an app or reinstalling can remove locally stored progress. Before those steps, check whether the game has an account sign-in, cloud save, platform synchronization or an export option. If you cannot verify synchronization, treat local progress as at risk and do not delete the installation until the developer confirms how saves are stored.

Android: fix a FriendSLAP app that crashes or will not respond
Google Play Help’s recommended order is deliberately conservative. Use it for an official Android build only; do not sideload an unverified package while diagnosing stability.
- Restart the phone. Use the normal power menu, wait for the device to finish booting, and test FriendSLAP before opening other demanding apps.
- Install Android updates. Open Settings > System > Software update (the wording varies by manufacturer) and apply any available update.
- Update the game. Open Google Play, select your profile, choose Manage apps & device, and install the FriendSLAP update if one is listed.
- Force-stop the game. Open Settings > Apps > FriendSLAP > Force stop, confirm, then launch it again.
- Clear only the cache first. Go to Settings > Apps > FriendSLAP > Storage & cache > Clear cache. Do not select Clear storage or Clear data until you have checked save consequences.
- Free storage. Remove or move unused files if internal storage is nearly full. A game may crash when it cannot create update, shader or temporary files.
- Reinstall as a later step. Confirm account or cloud synchronization, uninstall the game, restart the phone, then install it again from the same official listing.
- Escalate if other apps work. If FriendSLAP alone remains broken, contact its developer rather than repeatedly resetting the phone.
If the game fails immediately after an Android update, record both the old and new Android versions. That comparison helps the developer identify an operating-system compatibility regression.
iPhone and iPad: fix freezes, crashes and ignored taps
Apple Support places force-closing, restarting and updating ahead of deletion. Follow this order for an official iOS or iPadOS installation.
- Force-close and reopen the game. On a device with Face ID, swipe up from the bottom and pause, then swipe the game card away. On a device with a Home button, double-click Home and swipe the game card away. Reopen it from the Home Screen.
- Restart the device. Use the normal power-off controls, wait for the screen to go completely dark, then start the device again.
- Update FriendSLAP. Open the App Store, tap your account picture, and install any pending update for the game.
- Update iOS or iPadOS. Open Settings > General > Software Update and install the offered release if the device supports it.
- Check free space. Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage or iPad Storage. Make room if the system is nearly full, then retry.
- Delete and redownload only after checking saves. Apple warns that deleting an app can remove data stored locally. Verify the game’s account or cloud-save behavior first, then delete it from the Home Screen and reinstall it from the same App Store listing.
- Contact the developer. If every other app works and only FriendSLAP still fails, provide the exact iPhone or iPad model, iOS/iPadOS version and game version.
Do not infer that an iPhone or iPad should have a special FriendSLAP touch-calibration menu. No authoritative title-specific control map or calibration procedure has been published.

Steam and computer checks for Keep It Up!
If your installation is the Steam game announced as Keep It Up!, treat it as a desktop application first. The announcement identifies a Steam demo/store release, but it does not publish minimum hardware requirements or a crash-code list.
- Restart the computer. This clears a stuck graphics, audio or input process and releases memory held by other applications.
- Close competing software. Quit browsers with many tabs, recording tools, overlays, launchers and downloads temporarily. Keep only the software needed to reproduce the problem.
- Update the operating system and graphics driver. Use the computer manufacturer or graphics-vendor update channel appropriate to your hardware.
- Update the Steam installation. Let Steam finish any pending download before launching the game. Do not interrupt an update and then assume the resulting partial build is stable.
- Check network conditions for co-op. Restart the router, stop other uploads and downloads, and compare a wired or different Wi-Fi connection where practical.
- Verify the installation if Steam offers that option. Use the game’s Properties and installed-files verification control, then allow Steam to reacquire damaged files.
- Capture a repeatable crash. Record the room or menu where it occurs, whether voice chat is enabled, the demo or full-build label, operating-system version and hardware model.
A touchscreen laptop can accept touch input at the operating-system level while a game still ignores it. Unless the developer documents touch support, use a mouse and keyboard or a supported game controller as a diagnostic comparison, not as proof that a hidden calibration setting exists.
Reduce online lag and disconnections
Use these steps when the game runs locally but actions arrive late, players snap backward, or a room disconnects.

- Move temporarily closer to the Wi-Fi access point or use a wired connection on the computer.
- Switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data, or from cellular data to a different Wi-Fi network, and compare the result.
- Restart the router and wait for its connection to return fully.
- Pause video streaming, cloud synchronization, large downloads, peer-to-peer transfers and other uploads on the same connection.
- Disconnect from a VPN while testing. A VPN can add latency or route traffic through a congested server.
- Repeat the same room or menu after the connection is quiet. If only online play is affected, preserve the working offline evidence for the developer.
Do not diagnose a network fault solely from a high latency feeling in menus. Interface lag can also result from a blocked local process, low storage or a crash that has not yet closed.

Fix unresponsive touch controls without inventing a calibration setting
First determine whether the display itself responds. Tap a text field, scroll a system screen and use another app. If all touch input fails, remove gloves, moisture, debris or a screen accessory that may obstruct contact, then restart the device. Close background apps and test again.
If other apps accept taps but FriendSLAP does not, check whether the game is actually an official mobile build. The available announcement does not confirm Android or iOS support, touch mappings, a minimum device specification or a title-specific touch-calibration tool. A game designed for Steam may display on a touchscreen while still expecting mouse, keyboard or controller input.
When a touch problem appears only after rotating the device, switching windows or waking from sleep, note that transition in your report. Include whether taps fail in the title screen, menus, gameplay, chat or only a particular room. This detail is more useful than repeatedly tapping or reinstalling without a reproducible condition.
Stop crashes and freezes at launch or on one screen
If the app closes immediately
- Restart the device and close background applications.
- Install operating-system and game updates.
- Check free storage and retry on a stable connection.
- On Android, force-stop and clear cache; on iOS or iPadOS, force-close and reopen.
- On Steam, let the client finish updates and verify installed files if the option is available.
If the picture freezes but audio continues
- Wait briefly once to see whether the game recovers; repeated forced shutdowns can lose unsaved progress.
- Note whether the freeze follows a room transition, voice-chat connection, overlay or network change.
- Close overlays and recording tools, then reproduce with the smallest possible set of background applications.
If the same screen always causes the crash
Stop changing settings at random. Record the exact screen, room, action immediately before the crash, error text, device model, operating-system version, game version, network type and whether the installation is a demo or another build. Send that reproducible report to the relevant developer or storefront support channel.

When to reinstall—and when not to
Reinstallation is appropriate after restart, updates, storage checks, cache or force-close steps, and a save-data check. It is not the first response to a network problem, and it cannot add touch support that the game was never designed to provide.
- Confirm the exact title and platform.
- Confirm that progress is linked to an account or cloud save, or export/back up local data if the game provides that feature.
- Capture screenshots or error text before removing the installation.
- Uninstall through the platform’s normal controls.
- Restart the device if the platform recommends it.
- Install again from the official storefront listing and test before restoring optional overlays or accessories.
If progress disappears after a reinstall, do not create a new save that could overwrite the old one. Contact the developer with the account identifier and purchase or platform details, while keeping the original device storage untouched where possible.
What is not currently established about FriendSLAP
Available official material does not establish a FriendSLAP mobile edition, minimum device requirements, touch-control mapping, crash-code catalogue, dedicated calibration screen, or title-specific fix. The GamesPress announcement is a feature and release notice, not a technical support manual. Generic advice from Google, Apple, Miniclip and Gameloft can guide diagnosis, but it should not be presented as proof that FriendSLAP contains a cache menu, gyroscope mode or mobile control option.

Gameloft’s comparable mobile-game guidance includes restarting the device and router, checking Wi-Fi load, updating the operating system and app, clearing cache, and recalibrating an accelerometer when motion control is specifically affected. Use the restart, network and update principles; use accelerometer recalibration only when the game and device documentation explicitly provide it.
What to send with a developer support request
- Exact game name, publisher and storefront listing.
- Build or version number, including demo status.
- Device model, operating-system version and available storage.
- Network type: Wi-Fi, cellular, wired or VPN.
- Precise symptom: crash, freeze, delayed action, disconnection or ignored tap.
- Screen, room or menu where it occurs and the action immediately before failure.
- Whether another network, another app or another input method changes the result.
- Any error text, screenshot, short recording or crash report the platform provides.
- Whether progress is synchronized and whether you already cleared data or reinstalled.
A concise, repeatable report lets the developer distinguish a platform incompatibility from a temporary connection problem and avoids unnecessary data-destructive troubleshooting.
