If Fancy Ragdoll is missing in Fortnite, first open Locker > Sidekicks, select Fancy Ragdoll, and equip it. Then test it in Battle Royale. If it appears for you but not a friend, check whether that friend is on your team: Battle Royale only shows teammates’ Sidekicks. If the cat is equipped but invisible in a mode that supports Sidekicks, follow Epic’s visual-bug sequence: verify files, clear the Epic Games Launcher cache on PC, clean-boot or disable background applications, reinstall Fortnite if necessary, and submit an in-game bug report.
Start with the quickest fix
- Open Fortnite’s Locker.
- Choose Sidekicks in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the current Sidekick tile and choose Fancy Ragdoll.
- Equip it, enter Battle Royale, and check whether the cat appears beside your character.
This test separates the common causes. An absent tile points to an account or purchase-sync problem. A tile that equips but does not render may indicate a client or visual problem. A cat that appears in Battle Royale but not on one creator-made island is usually being blocked by that island’s Sidekick setting.
What Fancy Ragdoll is—and what “missing” can mean
Fancy Ragdoll is a customizable cosmetic Sidekick in Fortnite’s Chic Cat set. Epic introduced it in Chapter 7, Season 4, and lists it at 1,200 V-Bucks. It is not an AI teammate, combat assistant, or item-finding tool. Epic’s listing says Sidekicks react to the world but “won’t detect any enemies or items,” and Epic Player Support says Sidekicks do not provide a gameplay advantage or take damage.

“Not appearing” describes several different symptoms, so identify which one you have before changing files or buying anything:

Check the Locker slot and account entitlement
Equip the Sidekick from the documented menu
Fortnite can retain ownership of a cosmetic while another item remains selected. The reliable check is the slot itself, not the Item Shop page:
- From the Fortnite lobby, open Locker.
- In the left navigation, select Sidekicks.
- Open the tile showing the currently selected Sidekick.
- Choose Fancy Ragdoll from the owned Sidekicks list.
- Confirm the equip action, then leave the Locker and enter a supported experience.
If Fancy Ragdoll is present in the list, the account owns the item and the issue is selection, mode support, visibility rules, or rendering. If it is not present at all, do not treat that as an invisible-model problem. Verify that Fortnite is signed into the Epic account used for the purchase and give the account time to synchronize. If the entitlement still does not appear, contact Epic Games Player Support and include the transaction information they request. The available guidance does not provide a player-side entitlement repair command.
Test in an experience that supports Sidekicks
Sidekicks can accompany players in Battle Royale, Save the World, Fortnite Festival backstage, LEGO Fortnite, and developer-made experiences whose creators have enabled Sidekicks. A creator-made island can therefore be the reason Fancy Ragdoll seems absent even when the item and your client are working correctly.

Use Battle Royale as the control test
Battle Royale is the most useful first test because it provides a known Epic-supported environment. Equip Fancy Ragdoll, join a match, and check your own character. If the cat appears there, your Locker selection and basic rendering are functioning. A failure restricted to one island should be reported to that island’s creator or treated as an island configuration issue rather than an account-wide purchase failure.
Interpret other modes carefully
Save the World, Fortnite Festival backstage, and LEGO Fortnite support Sidekicks, but their presentation can differ from Battle Royale. In developer-made experiences, support is conditional: the island developer decides whether Sidekicks are enabled. A mode-specific absence is not proof that the cosmetic was removed from your account.
Understand Battle Royale visibility before troubleshooting
Epic’s item listing states that in Battle Royale you can see only your team’s Sidekicks. This is an intentional visibility rule, not evidence that Fancy Ragdoll failed to load.

- You see Fancy Ragdoll and a squadmate sees it: the Sidekick is behaving as expected.
- You see it but an opposing player does not: that is expected under the team-only rule.
- You see it but a teammate does not: have the teammate check while still on your team, then compare whether another Sidekick renders for that player.
- Nobody on your team sees it: continue to the visual-bug steps, provided you are in a supported mode.
Do not use an opponent’s report as the deciding test. Ask a teammate in the same squad, because team membership determines whether the Sidekick should be visible to that player.

When Fancy Ragdoll is equipped, the mode supports Sidekicks, and the visibility test rules out team restrictions, Epic classifies the remaining path under general visual-bug troubleshooting. Follow the steps in order so you can tell whether a repair changed the result.
1. Verify the game files
On PC, open the Epic Games Launcher and use Fortnite’s file-verification option. This checks the installed files and replaces damaged or incomplete data. Restart Fortnite after the verification completes and repeat the Battle Royale test.

2. Clear the Epic Games Launcher cache on PC
A stale launcher cache can interfere with how the client reads or updates installed content. Close Fortnite and the Epic Games Launcher, clear the launcher cache using Epic’s current support procedure, reopen the launcher, and start Fortnite again. This step is specifically relevant to the PC launcher; it is not a universal console procedure.
3. Clean-boot the computer and disable background applications
Epic also recommends a clean boot or disabling background applications for visual problems. Use this as an isolation test: close overlays, monitoring tools, capture utilities, and other nonessential applications, then launch Fortnite with only the required system services. If Fancy Ragdoll appears after this change, re-enable applications methodically to identify the conflict rather than leaving unrelated software disabled permanently.
4. Reinstall Fortnite when the earlier steps fail
If the files and launcher cache do not resolve the problem, uninstall and reinstall Fortnite. Reinstallation is a last-resort client repair because it takes longer and does not change the cosmetic’s ownership. After reinstalling, sign into the same Epic account, equip Fancy Ragdoll again, and test in Battle Royale before returning to a creator-made island.

5. Submit an in-game bug report
If Fancy Ragdoll remains invisible in a supported experience after the preceding steps, use Fortnite’s in-game bug-report path. Include the platform, the mode in which the problem occurs, whether you can see the item in Locker, whether another Sidekick renders, and whether teammates can see it. Those details distinguish an entitlement issue, an island setting, an expected visibility rule, and a client-rendering failure. Epic’s guidance treats these as general visual-bug steps, not as a Fancy Ragdoll-specific hotfix.

Fancy Ragdoll customization has an important limitation. Epic says your choices are permanent after you lock them in, and each owned Sidekick customization must be unique; duplicate appearances are not allowed. A missing model is therefore not a reason to buy the item again or repeatedly confirm its customization.
- Repurchasing does not repair a missing Locker entitlement or a rendering problem.
- Relocking changes the customization rather than repairing visibility.
- Because choices are permanent after confirmation, experiment only when you genuinely want a different appearance.
Keep the purchase receipt or transaction details available for Epic Support if the Sidekick is absent from the Locker. That evidence is more useful than making another purchase.

- Is Fancy Ragdoll visible under Locker > Sidekicks? If no, verify the purchasing Epic account and contact Epic Support if synchronization does not restore the entitlement. If yes, continue.
- Is it selected in the Sidekick slot? If no, equip it. If yes, continue.
- Does it appear in Battle Royale? If yes, test the original island or mode; that location may not support Sidekicks. If no, continue.
- Who cannot see it? In Battle Royale, test with a teammate, not an opponent. Team-only visibility explains opponent reports.
- Does another Sidekick render on the same platform? If another renders, report the Fancy Ragdoll-specific behavior. If none render, treat it as a broader client visual issue.
- Which platform is affected? On PC, verify files, clear the Epic Games Launcher cache, and clean-boot. On any platform, reinstall if necessary and submit an in-game report when the supported-mode failure continues.
Availability and purchase timing
Epic’s web listing currently shows Fancy Ragdoll purchase availability until October 23, 2026 at 00:00 GMT. That is the date displayed on the listing, not a guarantee that every account will see the same shop state at every moment. Item Shop rotations can change, so the in-game Item Shop timer is the final authority for your account. Availability timing does not explain an owned Sidekick disappearing from Locker; owned-item troubleshooting starts with the Sidekicks slot and account synchronization.
What a successful fix looks like
- Fancy Ragdoll appears in Locker > Sidekicks and is selected.
- It renders beside your character in Battle Royale or another Epic-supported experience.
- A teammate on your team can see it when team visibility applies.
- If a particular creator-made island still omits it, that island’s Sidekick setting is the remaining likely explanation.
Fancy Ragdoll is a cosmetic companion with world-reactive animations, not a gameplay system. Once the Locker slot, supported mode, team visibility rule, and client-rendering checks are handled in that order, you can identify whether the problem is selection, entitlement, island configuration, expected visibility, or a genuine visual bug without risking an unnecessary purchase or permanent customization change.
