The reliable PC path is STOVE first, then Steam linking. Epic Seven’s Steam release is scheduled for October 29, 2026. The game is free to play, but Steam requires a third-party STOVE account. Install the official STOVE PC Client, install Epic Seven from its Install Game button, and use Play after installation. If you already have an Epic Seven email or SNS account, transfer it to your Steam login; the official FAQ says your progress and game data remain intact. If Steam created a fresh account by mistake, stop playing on that account and contact Customer Service before attempting a transfer.
What is happening with Epic Seven on Steam?
The official Steam store listing gives October 29, 2026 as the planned Epic Seven release date. As of October 19, 2026, the listing and the Steam FAQ describe Steam support as requiring a linked STOVE account. This means Steam is an additional sign-in route, not a replacement for the STOVE account that stores your existing Epic Seven data.
Steam, STOVE PC, and mobile are documented as offering the same gameplay experience with cross-play. The published Steam requirements are also the same as those for the STOVE PC client. If you are troubleshooting before the scheduled release, some Steam buttons or services may not yet be available; after release, the steps below separate installation, launch, and account problems so you do not alter the wrong account.
Identify the symptom before changing anything
Use the symptom that best matches what you see. Account operations and technical launch failures go through different support channels, and deleting the wrong account can make recovery harder.

Check the supported PC configuration
The official PC guide publishes a baseline rather than a performance guarantee. Your computer should meet or exceed every item below before you spend time reinstalling.

These figures are the same for Steam and the STOVE PC client. A machine below one of them can fail at installation or launch even when Steam itself runs normally.
Install Epic Seven on a Windows PC
Use the official STOVE client as the supported installation route. Installing a separate launcher or copying files from another computer does not follow the documented process and can leave Steam and STOVE accounts mismatched.

- Open STOVE. You can launch it from the website’s Game Start button or from the STOVE desktop icon. Sign in with the account that should hold your Epic Seven data.
- Select Install Game. In the STOVE client, choose Epic Seven and select Install Game. Review the destination and available space, accept the End-User License Agreement, and let the installation complete.
- Select Play. Start the game from the STOVE client after the installation reaches completion. Keep the client open while the game starts so its account session is available.
- Connect Steam only after the correct account is identified. If you plan to use Steam, perform the transfer described below rather than creating a second Epic Seven identity.
The Steam release is scheduled for October 29, 2026. Before that date, a missing Steam download can simply mean the product is not yet released in the store. After release, begin with the STOVE client path above and then verify the Steam account association.

Fix a launch failure after STOVE installation
STOVE opens, but Epic Seven does not
First compare your computer with the baseline table. Pay particular attention to 64-bit Windows, available storage, and the graphics requirement; meeting the CPU requirement alone is not enough. Close the client, reopen it from the desktop icon or the website’s Game Start button, and try Play again.
If the client is installed and the game still will not run, the official installation guide specifically directs players to install the linked Microsoft Visual C++ program and retry. Use the Visual C++ package linked by that guide rather than an unrelated download. This is the documented runtime fallback for a game that will not start after STOVE installation.
The launcher or game closes immediately
Record exactly which window closes. If STOVE itself closes, the failure is at the client stage; reinstalling the game files alone will not address it. If STOVE remains open and only Epic Seven closes, capture the exact error text and the point at which it appears. The wording matters when you contact support.
Do not create a new Steam login as a test. A new Simple Login (Steam) account can become the account that launches the game, making the original heroes appear to have disappeared. Resolve the account identity first, then continue technical troubleshooting.

Steam reports an error or cannot start the game
Steam Support requests your Steam account username and the exact error message, or a detailed description when there is no message. Provide those details through the game’s support route so the issue is classified as a technical launch problem rather than an account-transfer request. Include whether STOVE opens, whether the game was installed through Install Game, and whether the problem began before or after linking Steam.
Transfer an existing Epic Seven account to Steam
The official Steam FAQ says an existing email account or Simple Login (SNS) account can be transferred to a Simple Login (Steam) account at any time; there is no separate application period. The transfer is the correct route for keeping an established roster and purchases while changing the sign-in method.
- Find the account that contains your data. Sign in through the email method or the SNS method you previously used. Confirm that your heroes, inventory, and other expected data are visible before starting a transfer.
- Open the Steam linking or transfer flow. Start it while signed in to that established account, not while signed in to an empty Steam account.
- Authenticate the intended Steam account. Use the Steam account you want to keep. Check the displayed account identity carefully if more than one Steam account is used on the computer.
- Complete the transfer prompts. Follow the on-screen confirmation until the operation reports completion. Do not close the client midway or switch login methods during the process.
- Test the result. Sign out, choose the Steam login, and verify that the same game data appears. If it does not, stop and contact STOVE Customer Service rather than starting a new game.
The transfer is not limited to a particular registration window. You can carry it out after the Steam release as well, provided you follow the account flow for the existing email or SNS account.
What is retained during a transfer?
The Steam FAQ states that all game progress and game data are retained. Its examples specifically include unclaimed rewards, event items, and ongoing Epic Pass progress. In practical terms, the transfer changes the login association; it is not a reset of the established Epic Seven profile.

If a transferred account looks empty, the most important diagnostic question is whether you entered the same Steam account and completed the transfer from the email or SNS account that actually held the data. Do not infer that data was deleted from a single empty login screen; use the support path if the identity check does not resolve it.
Steam created a new account: the safe recovery path
This is the most important account-linking warning. If you launched through Steam and the service created a new Simple Login (Steam) account, the documented solution is not to merge profiles yourself. Contact Customer Service and request deletion of the newly created Steam account. After that deletion is handled, transfer your established email or SNS account to Steam.
- Stop using the new Steam account. Do not spend currency, claim rewards, or advance progress on it while the case is unresolved. This keeps the support request clear.
- Gather identifiers. Note the Steam account username, the email address or SNS method used by the established account, and any visible error or account name. Explain that Steam created a new Simple Login (Steam) account and that you need it deleted so the existing account can be transferred.
- Open Epic Seven STOVE Customer Service. Choose the account-linking category and describe the sequence in order: original login, Steam login, creation of the new account, and the requested deletion.
- Wait for the deletion workflow to finish. Do not attempt repeated transfers or delete the established account yourself. The support process is intended to remove the mistaken new account.
- Transfer the established account. Once Customer Service confirms the new Steam account is deleted, sign in with the email or SNS account that contains your data and complete the Steam transfer.
- Verify before resuming play. Log in through Steam and confirm your existing progress, event items, unclaimed rewards, and Epic Pass status.
Never casually delete the established account. The documented deletion request applies to the newly created Simple Login (Steam) account, not to the account containing your long-term game data.

The FAQ describes Steam, STOVE PC, and mobile as cross-play platforms with the same gameplay experience. You therefore do not need a separate progression track simply because you move from the STOVE client to Steam. The account transfer determines which profile Steam opens.

Cross-play does not remove the sign-in requirement: Steam still uses a linked STOVE account. If mobile shows your normal roster but Steam shows a beginner account, treat that as an account-association problem, not as evidence that mobile and PC use incompatible data.
Choose the correct support channel
Use the channel that matches the failure. Sending a technical crash to an account queue, or an account deletion request to a generic technical queue, can delay the fix.

A concise recovery checklist
- Check whether October 29, 2026 has arrived in your region before treating a missing Steam download as a fault.
- Use the official STOVE PC Client, then Install Game, accept the End-User License Agreement, and select Play.
- Confirm Windows 10 64-bit or higher, an Intel i5 or higher, GTX 1060 or higher, at least 8 GB RAM, 10 GB free storage, and DirectX 11 or higher.
- If the installed client will not run, install the Microsoft Visual C++ program specified by the official guide.
- Identify whether your existing data is on an email account or Simple Login (SNS) account before linking Steam.
- If Steam made a new account, stop playing on it and request its deletion through STOVE Customer Service.

When to stop troubleshooting locally
Stop changing installations when the symptom points to account identity, an empty profile, a suspension, or a request to delete a newly created Steam account. Reinstalling the client cannot merge accounts and can make it harder to describe what happened. Preserve the exact error text, the Steam username, and the login method that contains your data, then send the case to the appropriate support channel.
