Then check the capture timing, browser image-loading setting, final URL, and page response status. A completed screenshot job does not prove that every image or font request succeeded, so the steps below separate stale captures and late rendering from asset failures.
1. Rule out a cached screenshot
Browshot documents a 24-hour default cache period. An older image can therefore look like a current rendering failure. Set cache=0 to request a new capture, and verify that the request contains the intended page URL and browser instance. See Browshot’s API documentation for the cache parameter.
If the fresh capture still has missing assets, continue with timing and browser settings rather than treating cache as the cause.
2. Allow more time for the page to render
Browshot documents a default post-load delay of five seconds. Increase it to test whether scripts, images, or other late-rendered content need more time. For a slow initial page load, consider max_wait as well: Browshot says the delay still applies after the PageLoad event. More waiting is a diagnostic, not proof that an image or font asset is fixed.

For example, if a page populates a gallery after its initial load, compare a fresh capture at the default delay with one using a longer delay. Keep the URL, instance, and other settings the same so the comparison is useful. Parameter details are in Browshot’s API documentation.
3. Test pages that rely on JavaScript
Browshot supports a script URL or inline JavaScript that runs just after the page-load event. This can help reproduce a wait or page action when application-side JavaScript populates content asynchronously. The script must finish within the configured delay; Browshot’s JavaScript guide states a maximum of 10 seconds for script completion. This can help test timing, but it is not a guaranteed web-font fix.
Use script or script_inline only when you have a specific, repeatable page action or wait to test. See Browshot’s JavaScript guide for its execution behavior.

4. Confirm image loading is enabled
Browshot allows image loading to be enabled or disabled in a browser feature configuration. If images are absent, check the selected browser or instance settings and make sure image loading is enabled. Browshot’s feature documentation describes this control, but does not identify a corresponding web-font toggle. Do not assume that changing the image setting will repair fonts.

Browshot says its service uses desktop and mobile browsers, supports HTML5 and CSS3, and allows HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and image loading to be enabled or disabled. See Browshot’s feature page.
5. Inspect the capture result and page response
Check the screenshot status and any error details, then compare the requested URL with the final URL and inspect the main page’s response code. A successful capture does not establish that individual image or font requests succeeded.

Simple API response codes
- 200: a successful PNG response.
- 404: a capture failure; Browshot documents an explanation in the
X-Errorresponse header. - 400: an invalid request; inspect the
X-Errorheader for details. - 302: the screenshot is still in progress; follow the redirect as Browshot instructs.
These codes describe the Simple API response, not the success of each asset request. Browshot documents screenshot details, response information, and error handling in its API documentation.
6. Check for redirects or regional differences
An unexpected redirect can send the browser to a login page, consent page, alternate host, or other content that does not contain the assets you expected. Compare the final URL with the URL you requested before diagnosing an image or font failure.
Some sites serve different content by country. If that is plausible for the target, compare captures using Browshot’s documented Germany, UK, USA, or Australia regional IP options. A regional comparison is useful only when geography could reasonably change the page or its asset access; it is not a general remedy for missing resources. 7. If only particular assets are still missing
If the page itself loads but a specific image or font remains absent, investigate the target page’s own network and browser-console behavior with its normal debugging tools. Check whether the asset request is made, whether it returns an error, and whether the page’s own policies or application logic prevent it from loading. Browshot’s reviewed documentation does not provide a specific missing-font diagnosis procedure, so treat this as a target-site asset investigation rather than a Browshot setting you can assume will solve it.
What Browshot’s controls can and cannot tell you
The relevant Browshot controls include cache, delay, max_wait, details, scripts, custom headers, and html. Browshot documents html=1 as saving rendered HTML and says this costs one credit per screenshot; use it only if inspecting the rendered markup will help your diagnosis. A rendered HTML copy cannot by itself establish that every external image or font request succeeded.
Browshot also states that a page taking longer than two minutes to load is aborted automatically and that failed screenshots are not charged. These are Browshot’s vendor statements; its feature page does not provide a publication year. See Browshot’s feature page.
