Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →If a game became blurry or jagged after you lowered its graphics settings, check its display resolution and render scale first. Then adjust anti-aliasing, texture filtering, sharpening, or driver overrides one at a time. These controls affect different parts of the image, so changing them separately helps you find a clearer picture without undoing every performance gain.
Check resolution and render scale first
A graphics preset can change several options, but lowering every setting does not necessarily lower resolution. Check the game’s actual display resolution and its internal render resolution separately.
- Save or photograph your current settings. This gives you a way to return to the configuration that was performing well.
- Match the game’s display resolution to your monitor’s native resolution. Look in the game’s display or video settings; the precise menu labels vary by game.
- Check render resolution, resolution scale, dynamic resolution, and upscaling mode. If the game offers a neutral or default scale, use it temporarily to diagnose the image.
- Compare the same scene. Look at fine details, edges, and moving objects, and note performance as well as clarity.
A game can output at your monitor’s resolution while rendering internally at a lower resolution and scaling the image up. That can make detail look soft or pixelated. NVIDIA’s Image Scaling guide explains the relationship between render resolution and scaling; AMD’s Virtual Super Resolution guidance describes the reverse approach, rendering above the display’s native resolution and scaling down.
If edges look jagged, test anti-aliasing
Anti-aliasing (AA) reduces jagged edges, but it can also make an image look smoother and softer and reduce frame rate. That tradeoff means disabling AA is not a universal fix for a soft-looking game.

- 【INTEGRATED SPEAKERS】Whether you're at work or in the midst of an intense gaming session, our built-in speakers provide rich and seamless audio, all while keeping your desk clutter-free.
- 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
- 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.
At the intended display and render resolution, compare the AA modes the game offers. Check edge smoothness, fine-detail sharpness, motion artifacts, and frame rate in the same scene. There is no universally best mode established across games; the result depends on the title and its available options. AMD’s Radeon graphics settings guidance describes the smoothing, softness, and performance tradeoff.
If surfaces look muddy, check texture filtering separately
Texture filtering is not the same control as anti-aliasing. It affects how textures are sampled, including on surfaces viewed at an angle. If distant or oblique surfaces look muddy, inspect the game’s texture-filtering or anisotropic-filtering options rather than changing AA to compensate.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
AMD describes Texture Filtering Quality as a small image-quality and performance adjustment and identifies Standard as its preferred default in its Radeon settings guidance. This setting is not a guaranteed fix for blur caused by low render resolution or an upscaler.
Use sharpening or scaling only if the image still needs it
Sharpening and resolution-scaling features can help in some configurations, but they change how the game’s image is presented and are not universal repairs. Try a restrained sharpening option only after checking resolution, render scale, AA, and texture filtering. Compare the result with your saved baseline for halos, exaggerated edges, retained detail, and artifacts in motion.

- Smooth motion: 240Hz refresh rate and fast 0.5ms response time provide crisp visuals and fluid movement with less input lag.
- Seamless gaming: FreeSync Premium and HDMI VRR eliminate tearing for smooth, responsive PC and console gameplay.
- Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
- Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
- Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.
- AMD: Radeon Image Sharpening and Virtual Super Resolution guidance covers these features and their configuration.
- NVIDIA: Image Scaling guidance explains how to enable scaling and select a game render resolution.
- Intel Arc: Arc Control guidance explains enabling GPU scaling. Scaling controls do not guarantee a fix in every game.
Feature support and available controls depend on the game and hardware. Test the setting in the game you play rather than assuming a driver feature will behave the same way everywhere.
If several games look wrong, check driver profiles
If the same blur or jaggedness appears across multiple games, a global or per-game driver setting may be overriding in-game choices. Review the graphics profile for the affected game and the global settings. AMD documents how to reset global or application graphics settings in its Radeon settings guidance. After restoring defaults, retest before changing other controls.

Make changes in a controlled order
Change one option at a time and compare the same scene. Use this order so each adjustment addresses a distinct possible cause:
- Restore the game’s native display resolution and diagnose render scale or upscaling.
- Test anti-aliasing if object edges are the main problem.
- Inspect texture filtering if distant or angled surfaces are muddy.
- Try supported sharpening or scaling features only if the image remains soft.
- Check global and per-game driver profiles if the issue affects multiple titles.
For each comparison, judge edge smoothness, fine-detail clarity, motion stability or ghosting, and frame rate. Vendor guidance describes the controls and their tradeoffs, but does not establish a single best setting for every game.
