Most Arknights: Endfield launch failures can be narrowed down by checking the PC requirements and network first, then performing a clean restart. If the client stops at “Releasing Resources 0%”, Gryphline provides a specific hgdownloadsdk.dll replacement procedure. On NVIDIA systems, Gryphline also warns that NVIDIA App optimization can cause blurry graphics and stuttering. Reinstalling, testing the account on another platform or device, and sending complete logs are the next steps when those targeted fixes do not resolve the problem.
Match the fix to the symptom
Use the symptom rather than trying every possible tweak at once. The table shows which remedy is appropriate, what it applies to, and how disruptive it is.

Verify requirements, storage, and the connection
A machine can launch other modern games and still fail Endfield if it falls below the storefront baseline or cannot provide enough working space. Compare your system with both listings because their storage wording is different.

Check the hardware baseline
In Windows, open Settings > System > About to see the processor and installed RAM. Open Settings > System > Display > Advanced display, then the display-adapter properties, to identify the graphics hardware. Confirm that the operating system is 64-bit Windows 10 or later where applicable and that DirectX 11 is available. These are minimum listings, not a promise that every machine at the threshold will run without stutter or crashes; newer content, background applications, thermal limits, and driver state can still affect stability.

Reserve the correct amount of disk space
Do not treat the Epic listing’s 50 GB and 40 GB figures as interchangeable. It specifies 50 GB of free space for the installation and an additional 40 GB for unpacking, so keep roughly 90 GB free while installing or updating from that storefront. Steam lists 60 GB. If the drive is close to full, clear enough space before launching the client; an update can fail during extraction even when the installed game itself would fit.
Test the network before changing files
Gryphline’s first troubleshooting step is to confirm a stable network and try a better connection if necessary. Retry on a reliable broadband connection rather than repeatedly launching while a download is timing out. A different network can help distinguish a local connection problem from a client or account problem. Record which connection was used when you later contact support.
Perform a clean restart and session check
A clean restart is deliberately simple and should precede a reinstall or file replacement. It clears a stuck launcher process and lets the client begin its resource check from a fresh session.

- Exit Endfield normally. If the window is unresponsive, force-quit the game and launcher using Windows’ task controls.
- Wait until the processes have closed, then start the launcher again and sign in.
- If the same failure returns, restart the device and launch Endfield once more.
- When the original platform or device still fails, sign in to the same account on another platform or device, then return to the original one. Gryphline includes this cross-platform or cross-device login test in its troubleshooting sequence.
Keep the result of each attempt separate: note whether the crash occurs before login, during resource download, at the 0% release stage, or after the game reaches the menu. That distinction determines whether the DLL procedure or NVIDIA-specific check is relevant.

Reinstall when the basic sequence does not work
Gryphline explicitly recommends downloading and reinstalling Endfield when checking requirements, improving the connection, restarting, and trying another platform or device do not solve the problem. Reinstallation is more disruptive than a restart or settings change, so use it after those reversible steps.
- Confirm that the destination drive has the space required by your storefront, including the Epic unpacking allowance if you use Epic.
- Remove the existing Endfield installation through the launcher or storefront you used to install it.
- Download a fresh copy from that same official client and allow the installation and resource download to finish without interrupting the connection.
- Launch once before restoring optional settings or third-party overlays. If the clean installation still fails, stop repeating the download and prepare the support package described below.
A reinstall is not a substitute for the 0% workaround: if the client consistently freezes at that exact stage after a fresh download, use Gryphline’s DLL notice rather than repeatedly deleting and reinstalling the same files.
Fix the “Releasing Resources 0%” freeze
Gryphline’s notice describes this specific failure as follows: After launching the PC client and downloading in-game update resources, you may encounter a situation where the interface freezes at the ‘Releasing Resources 0%’ stage.
The publisher’s workaround is to replace one launcher library, hgdownloadsdk.dll.

- Close the Endfield client and launcher completely before changing any file.
- Download
hgdownloadsdk.dllfrom the official Gryphline notice for the 0% freeze. Do not obtain a DLL from a random download site; a similarly named file is not an equivalent replacement. - Open the launcher and choose Game Settings. Use the location shown there to identify the game root folder.
- Open that folder in File Explorer and locate the existing
hgdownloadsdk.dll. - Make a backup copy of the existing file in a separate folder, then place the downloaded file in the game root and overwrite the old file when Windows asks.
- Start the launcher and test the game. Leave the backup untouched until you know whether the replacement solved the freeze.
The file name must remain exactly hgdownloadsdk.dll, and the replacement belongs in the game root identified by Game Settings, not in an arbitrary Windows system folder. If the client reaches the menu but another error appears, restore the backup or reinstall and include the outcome in your Gryphline report.

If the 0% fix does not hold
First confirm that the client was fully closed when the file was replaced and that the downloaded file came from Gryphline’s notice. Recheck the game-root path in Game Settings, then retry once. If the freeze remains, do not mix in unrelated DLL files or registry cleaners; move to reinstallation and support escalation so the publisher can inspect the logs.
Address NVIDIA App optimization stutter and blurry graphics
Gryphline has identified a separate PC issue involving NVIDIA graphics cards. Its notice states: When experiencing the game on a PC device equipped with an NVIDIA graphics card, enabling optimization features in the NVIDIA App may potentially cause abnormal issues such as blurry graphics and game stuttering.
- Open the NVIDIA App and find Endfield’s game optimization controls.
- Disable the optimization feature for Endfield, following the corrective guidance in Gryphline’s notice.
- Close and relaunch the game, then test the same scene or activity that previously stuttered.
This check is aimed at blurry rendering and stutter associated with NVIDIA App optimization. It is not a general guarantee against every launch crash, and it is not relevant to a system without an NVIDIA graphics card. Change one setting at a time so you can tell whether disabling optimization made a difference; you can restore the setting later if it was not involved.

If the game still crashes, freezes, or will not launch after the publisher’s sequence, send evidence rather than a short statement that the game is broken. Gryphline asks for account identifiers, logs, device information, and a screenshot or video.

Collect the required identifiers
- Your Gryphline Account ID.
- Your Game ID.
- The platform and launcher used when the problem occurred.
Copy the IDs exactly as displayed. If you tested another platform or device, state which account and platform produced each result.
Copy the PC logs
For a Windows installation, include the crash logs from:
C:UsersxxxAppDataLocalTempHypergryphEndfield- Player and SDK logs from
C:UsersxxxAppDataLocalLowHypergryphEndfield
The xxx portion represents the Windows user-folder name on the affected PC. Copy the folders or files without editing their contents. Preserve the original files and attach a compressed copy if the support form imposes an upload-size limit.

Describe the device and reproduce the failure
Include the Windows edition and 64-bit status, CPU, GPU, installed RAM, available storage, storefront or launcher, and whether the game is installed on an SSD. Describe the exact sequence that triggers the problem: for example, “launches, downloads resources, then remains at Releasing Resources 0%,” or “reaches the menu, then stutters after NVIDIA App optimization is enabled.” Add the date and approximate time of the failed attempt, whether the network was changed, and which of Gryphline’s steps you already tried.

Attach visual evidence
A screenshot should show the error text or frozen stage clearly. A short video is more useful when the failure involves a transition, repeated crash, or stutter. Make sure the capture does not hide the relevant percentage, message, or launcher window. Logs, identifiers, device details, and visual evidence together give support enough context to distinguish a resource-release failure from a hardware, connection, or graphics-optimization issue.
What not to treat as an official fix
Community advice may suggest changing driver versions, deleting shader caches, increasing the page file, running as administrator, or installing a repair utility. Those suggestions are not identified in the cited Gryphline guidance as verified Endfield fixes. They can also change several variables at once or introduce software from an untrusted source. Use the publisher’s requirements check, restart sequence, reinstall instruction, 0% DLL procedure, and NVIDIA App optimization guidance first; document any other change separately if support later asks about it.
Final troubleshooting order
For a general launch crash, start with the storefront requirements, free-space calculation, and a stable broadband connection. Force-quit, restart the device, and perform the cross-platform or cross-device login test. Reinstall only after those checks fail. Use the hgdownloadsdk.dll replacement only when the PC client is actually frozen at “Releasing Resources 0%.” On an NVIDIA PC showing the documented blurry or stuttering behavior, disable NVIDIA App optimization. If the problem persists, send Gryphline the Account ID, Game ID, both relevant log locations, device information, and a screenshot or video so the case can be investigated without another round of guesswork.
