What Appulse is, and what is currently downloadable
Appulse is a single-player Windows PC game developed by Le Rado and published by Raw Fury. Its Steam description calls it a top-down shooter roguelite built around pinball mechanics. Restore the Steam session
- Open the Steam client and read the exact message on the sign-in screen. Record whether it says the password is wrong, the client is offline, or the service cannot be reached.
- Check that the computer has a working internet connection by opening another trusted site. If other services also fail, fix the connection before changing Appulse files.
- Close Steam completely, including its tray icon, then start it again. A fresh session can clear a stale authentication token or a client update waiting to finish.
- Install any Steam client update it offers and sign in again. Avoid repeatedly entering a password when the message indicates a service or network problem.
- Use Steam’s own account-recovery or support route for a credential, two-factor, or account-lock message. The available Appulse material does not provide a separate Appulse recovery process.

Download the Appulse demo from Steam
Normal download path
- Sign in to Steam and open the Appulse store listing.
- Select the demo’s download or install control shown on that listing. Steam should add the demo to your library or downloads queue.
- Open Steam’s Downloads view and watch for a queue status, disk-write message, or error code.
- After the download finishes, open the Steam Library, select the Appulse demo, and choose Play.
The exact demo size is not stated in the available listing information. Keep substantially more than the stated 5 GB minimum free so Steam can unpack files and create temporary data; a drive with only a few megabytes remaining is not a safe test even when the nominal requirement appears satisfied.
When the download is stalled or never starts

- Install pending Windows updates and restart. A reboot can release a locked file or complete a system component update.

- Temporarily remove other large downloads from the queue so you can tell whether Appulse is stalled or simply waiting behind another job.
General platform troubleshooting guidance notes that less than 1 GB of free storage can stop an installation. Because Appulse lists 5 GB as its minimum available storage, use the larger Appulse requirement as your baseline and leave additional headroom rather than relying on a nearly full drive.
If Steam reports a disk-write or corrupted-download error

Update the demo before diagnosing a crash
An old demo build is the highest-value thing to eliminate because the Steam Community notes for demo patch 1.17 list fixes for several serious symptoms: a random fatal error, a crash in the upgrade menu, a tutorial soft lock after the first wave, an Alt+F4 crash, settings not saving, and multiple presentation or navigation issues. Earlier patch 1.13 notes list fixes for freezes when opening settings during the introduction and when pausing during the boss cinematic.

- Open Steam Library and select the Appulse demo.
- Open the game’s Properties and select the Updates section. Leave automatic updates enabled unless you have a specific reason to manage downloads manually.
- Open Steam Downloads and wait for any Appulse update to finish. A queued update may not install while another game is using the download service.
- Restart Steam after the update completes, then launch the demo once.
- Reproduce the original action one time. Note the location, menu, wave, cinematic, or key combination that triggers the problem.
Patch numbers are historical markers, not a promise that 1.17 is the newest build forever. Steam may deliver a later demo version. Compare your installed build and the current Steam notes before deciding that a documented bug remains unfixed.
Use Steam file verification for launch and post-update failures
If the demo is updated but Steam closes immediately, reports missing files, or behaves differently after an interrupted download, verify the installation before deleting it.
- In Steam Library, right-click the Appulse demo and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files (Steam may display a closely related storage label in some client versions).
- Select Verify integrity of game files and wait for the scan to finish.
- Allow Steam to reacquire any files it reports as missing or damaged.

Crash in the upgrade menu
Make sure the demo has received the patch that includes the upgrade-menu crash fix. Test the menu once after restarting. If it still fails, record which upgrade or menu action was selected and whether the failure happens every time.
Tutorial soft lock after the first wave
A soft lock means the game remains open but progress cannot continue. Patch 1.17 notes identify a tutorial soft lock after the first wave as a fixed issue. Update before attempting to restart the entire run or reinstalling.
Freeze while opening Settings or pausing a boss cinematic
The earlier 1.13 notes specifically mention freezes when opening settings during the introduction and when pausing during the boss cinematic. If your build predates that fix, update it. If a current build still freezes, capture the exact sequence and report it through the developer’s current support route.
Alt+F4 crash or settings that do not save
Patch 1.17 lists an Alt+F4 crash and settings-save problems among its fixes. Use the normal in-game exit command while testing an updated build, and check whether settings persist after a clean restart. Do not repeatedly force-close the game while it is writing settings, because that can make it harder to distinguish a fixed bug from a damaged local file.

- The exact error text, including capitalization and numbers.
- The steps that reproduce the problem, such as opening a menu, pausing a cinematic, or completing a particular wave.
- Whether the issue occurs every time or only once.
- Whether Steam file verification found and replaced files.
- Whether keyboard and mouse and a controller produce the same result.
Use the developer’s current support route shown by the official game or publisher channels. The available material does not identify a permanent support URL or promise a particular response time, so avoid sending credentials or inventing an Appulse account-recovery form.
Controller and keyboard-and-mouse choices
