A Starknet wallet showing Pending does not prove that a private DeFi transaction reached the network. First copy the exact transaction hash, confirm the network and account, then check that hash through an independent Starknet RPC and a reputable explorer. The result—not found, pending, accepted, reverted, or rejected—determines whether you should wait, correct fees or nonce data, use a supported replacement, or submit a new transaction.
Private Starknet DeFi flows still use ordinary wallet-submitted transactions. A privacy SDK or privacy pool may use a paymaster and an invoke anonymizer to call a swap executor, but the transaction must still pass Starknet nonce, fee, mempool, and contract-execution rules. Bridge activity through StarkGate is a separate L1/L2 process and cannot be repaired by repeatedly submitting the swap.
What a “missing” or “stuck” private transaction actually means
There are several different failures hidden behind the same wallet message. A wallet can retain a local activity record even when a node rejected the submission before mempool admission. Conversely, a transaction can be valid and waiting while one RPC provider has not learned about it. A hash that appears in an explorer with a receipt is a different situation from a hash that every provider reports as unknown.
The word private does not create a second, invisible blockchain. Starknet Privacy describes private transfers as wallet-submitted transactions that can use a paymaster to avoid exposing sender information. An invoke anonymizer can call an external contract, such as a swap executor. The account still has a nonce, the transaction still consumes fee resources, and the network still decides whether it enters a block.

Use the observed state to choose the safe action

Recovery workflow, step by step

1. Capture the exact transaction hash
Copy the hash from the wallet’s transaction details, the dApp receipt, or the privacy SDK response. Do not rely on a shortened activity label. Record whether the transaction was sent to Starknet mainnet or a testnet, the account address that signed it, and the dApp or privacy service involved. A hash from the wrong network can look exactly like a missing transaction.
Also note the time of submission, the displayed nonce if the wallet shows it, the token pair and amount, and whether the operation included a bridge. These details help support staff distinguish a swap invoke from a StarkGate deposit or withdrawal.

2. Query the hash independently
Use a trusted Starknet RPC’s
getTransactionStatusmethod and open the same hash in a reputable Starknet explorer. Perform both checks rather than treating the wallet screen as authoritative. Providers can have different propagation views, so a temporary “not found” response from one endpoint is not conclusive.Recommended Free Tools

getSimulateTransaction, which can reproduce execution and help estimate fees for a correctly constructed transaction. Simulation is diagnostic; it does not make the original hash appear or cancel a transaction already submitted. -
3. Classify the result before touching the nonce
If the RPC or explorer shows a block and receipt, inspect the execution status and emitted events. An accepted transaction may have succeeded, or it may have reverted during contract execution. A reverted swap can result from stale quotes, slippage limits, token-allowance problems, or contract-specific checks; a speed-up cannot change calldata that is already in a block.
If the result is pending, keep the hash and continue with the fee and nonce checks below. If it is rejected, use the node or wallet error as the starting point and create a corrected transaction through the normal dApp flow.

If the result is not found, test another reputable RPC and explorer before submitting anything. The transaction may never have entered the mempool, may have been evicted, or may not have propagated to the provider you selected.

4. Verify the account nonce
Check the account’s current nonce and determine the next nonce expected by the account contract. A replacement is meaningful only when it uses the same account and the same nonce as the pending transaction. If the account has already advanced past that nonce, the original transaction may have been included, rejected, or otherwise superseded; obtain the account’s confirmed history before sending another call.
Do not infer nonce state from the order of wallet activity cards. Query the account through a trusted provider and compare the result with the nonce embedded in the signed transaction when your wallet exposes it.

5. Check fee resources and balances
Starknet v3 transactions use resource bounds. Depending on account and protocol support, fees can be paid in ETH or STRK. Confirm that the account has enough of the selected fee token and that the resource bounds are sufficient for the privacy invoke, paymaster arrangement, and external swap call.
The
starknet.pytooling documents v3 fee estimation and optional tips. Its automatic estimation applies a multiplier to absorb fee fluctuations, but an estimate is not a guarantee that conditions will remain unchanged when you submit. Re-estimate after a long delay or after a replacement attempt, and make sure the wallet is estimating the same calldata and account configuration you intend to sign.Recommended: PC Feels Slow? 6. Decide whether to wait, replace, or resubmit
Wait when the hash is visible, the nonce is correct, the fee resources and balance are adequate, and the network is still propagating the transaction. Use a replacement only if the wallet and protocol support it. Otherwise, let the original transaction resolve or expire and submit a newly constructed transaction after confirming the nonce.

Never hand-edit calldata, change the recipient, or sign an unrelated transaction merely to clear a pending wallet card. A privacy invoke can contain multiple calls; altering one field can redirect funds or break the anonymizer’s assumptions.

7. Verify the final receipt
After inclusion, open the transaction again through the RPC and explorer. Confirm the block, execution status, and relevant token or swap events. For a successful private flow, check the destination or privacy-pool accounting that the dApp documents rather than assuming that a wallet balance refresh alone proves completion.
When a same-nonce replacement can speed up a transaction
Starknet v0.14 mempool notes describe replacement by a transaction from the same account with the same nonce only when both the tip and the maximum L2 gas price are increased by at least 10 percent. The requirement applies to the replacement transaction, not to a second copy of the original signature.

If the wallet does not offer a supported replacement control, do not improvise by editing a raw transaction.
Starknet.js warns that resubmitting the same signed transaction with the same nonce is rejected. Signing an identical payload again does not raise its priority and can create additional confusion in the wallet history. A replacement must be a newly signed transaction that satisfies the network’s replacement policy.
Why a hash can disappear from the mempool
Starknet v0.14 notes describe a configured five-minute mempool time-to-live for transactions that cannot be included. The P2P mempool specification also explains that most transactions are included or evicted quickly and that existing mempool contents are not synchronized to nodes joining later. As a result, a transaction can vanish from one node without there being a permanent on-chain record.

After the TTL or an eviction, a fresh submission may be necessary. Before doing so, confirm the account’s current nonce, fee-token balance, resource bounds, and the exact calldata generated by the privacy dApp. If the original nonce is still unused, the wallet can construct a new transaction. If the nonce has been consumed, investigate the included transaction instead of sending another one.
A provider’s “not found” answer immediately after submission can also be a propagation issue. Check a second independent RPC and an explorer, wait briefly, and repeat the query with the exact hash. Do not conclude that a transaction was evicted solely because one endpoint has not received it.
Do not confuse a StarkGate delay with a stuck swap
Operations that move assets between Ethereum and Starknet through StarkGate have their own lifecycle. A deposit may remain NOT_RECEIVED while L1 confirmations accumulate and later become ACCEPTED_ON_L2. A withdrawal requires the L2 initiation, a proof or state-update stage, and L1 finalization. Each stage can take a different amount of time.
Open StarkGate’s Activity tab and follow its explorer links for the L1 and L2 transactions. Check which side has the latest confirmed event before retrying anything. Resubmitting the DeFi call while the bridge deposit is still waiting can create a second swap attempt without providing the funds the first call expected.
- Deposit appears as
NOT_RECEIVED: verify the L1 transaction hash and confirmations, then wait for StarkGate to recognize and accept it on L2. - Deposit is
ACCEPTED_ON_L2but the dApp still shows no balance: refresh the dApp’s account and token state, confirm the correct network and token contract, and allow the dApp to index the L2 event. - Withdrawal is waiting after L2 initiation: look for the proof or state-update stage before expecting L1 finalization.
- Bridge is complete but the swap hash is missing: treat the swap as a separate transaction and begin the hash-and-status workflow from the start.
How privacy SDK transactions change the diagnosis
A privacy SDK can add a paymaster, privacy-pool accounting, and an invoke anonymizer that calls an external contract. Those layers create more places for a user interface to report an intermediate state, but they do not remove Starknet’s normal transaction checks.

Its activity entry may be created before a node accepts the transaction.
- Paymaster path: the paymaster can sponsor or abstract fee payment, but the transaction still needs valid resource bounds and an available sponsorship arrangement. If sponsorship fails, obtain the wallet or SDK error and construct the transaction again through the supported flow.
- Invoke anonymizer: the anonymizer may call a swap executor or other external contract. A successful outer transaction can still contain an application-level event that the dApp interprets as a failed swap, so inspect the receipt and events.
- Privacy-pool accounting: a wallet balance may not immediately display a private-pool credit. Use the privacy service’s documented status view after confirming the underlying Starknet transaction succeeded.
Do not expose private notes, withdrawal secrets, or other privacy metadata when asking for help unless the official service explicitly requires a particular public identifier. Support normally needs the public hash, network, account address, nonce, calldata summary, and screenshots—not credentials.

Common symptoms and the correct fix
The wallet has shown “pending” for several minutes
Copy the hash and query it independently. If it is visible and the nonce and fees are valid, waiting may be appropriate. If the wallet offers a supported speed-up and the transaction meets the same-nonce replacement conditions, review the increased tip and maximum L2 gas price before signing. If the hash is not found, investigate propagation and nonce state instead of repeatedly pressing send.
The explorer shows “reverted”
The transaction reached a block, so replacement cannot change its outcome. Read the revert information and events, then return to the dApp to obtain a fresh quote, increase slippage only within your risk tolerance, refresh token approvals if required, or correct the contract parameters. A new transaction must use the current nonce and newly estimated resources.
The RPC says “not found” but the wallet will not let you send
The wallet may be reserving a local nonce for the unresolved activity. Confirm the account’s on-chain nonce through another provider. Ask the wallet’s official support how to refresh or clear its local activity state; do not delete records or sign an arbitrary transaction designed to occupy a nonce.

A replacement was rejected
Check that it used the same account and nonce, that the tip and maximum L2 gas price increased by the required amount, and that the account can pay the new fee. Resubmitting the old signed bytes will be rejected. If the original transaction has already been included, inspect its receipt instead.
The dApp says the private transfer failed, but the hash succeeded
Compare the receipt’s events with the dApp’s expected privacy-pool or swap-executor events. The outer invoke may have succeeded while indexing, token selection, or the application’s own post-processing failed. Give the dApp the public hash and event details so it can reconcile its database without asking for your seed phrase.
What to include when escalating
Contact the dApp or wallet through its official support channel after completing the independent status checks. Send a concise incident record:
- Exact transaction hash and whether it is on mainnet or testnet.
- Public account address and the dApp, privacy service, or bridge involved.
- Current RPC and explorer result, including block, receipt, execution status, or “not found.”
- Account nonce, selected fee token, and any fee or resource error shown by the wallet.
- A short calldata summary, such as token pair, amount, bridge direction, and whether a paymaster or anonymizer was used.
- Timestamps, screenshots, and the explorer links for any related L1 or L2 bridge transaction.
Never provide a seed phrase, private key, wallet password, one-time recovery code, or an unsolicited signed message. Official support should not need control of your wallet to identify a public transaction.

Preventing the next stuck transaction
- Confirm the network, account, token contracts, and recipient before signing.
- Keep enough ETH or STRK for the selected fee path, or verify that the paymaster is available for this exact operation.
- Let the wallet or SDK estimate v3 resource bounds immediately before signing; avoid reusing an old estimate after a long delay.
- Save the transaction hash as soon as the wallet or SDK returns it.
- For swaps, review quote expiry, slippage, allowance, and the dApp’s expected privacy-pool behavior before submission.
- For StarkGate transfers, record both L1 and L2 hashes and monitor the Activity tab through acceptance, proof, and finalization.
- Use one trusted RPC for submission and at least one independent source for verification.
The reliable order is always the same: identify the exact hash, verify it outside the wallet, classify the state, check nonce and fee resources, then choose waiting, a supported replacement, or a fresh submission. That sequence prevents a cosmetic wallet status from turning into duplicate swaps or nonce conflicts.
