If your Samsung Galaxy A13 won’t charge, first test a known-good outlet, USB-C cable and compatible adapter. Then check the port for visible debris or damage, restart the phone and give a deeply depleted battery time to respond. These checks can rule out common causes, but they cannot identify a failed port, battery or internal charging component; if the phone still will not charge, arrange a professional inspection.
Try these safe checks in order

Rule out the outlet, adapter and cable
Check that the wall outlet works and that the adapter and cable have no visible damage. Make sure both ends of the cable are fully seated. If possible, try another known-good, compatible charger and cable. If the phone charges with the replacement, the original accessory or power source was likely the issue; replace the faulty item rather than treating the phone as repaired.

Look inside the USB-C port
Turn the phone off and use a flashlight to check for lint, debris, corrosion, bent pins or other visible damage. Do not put liquid in the port, and do not scrape or probe it with a metal object. If you see damage or corrosion, or the plug feels loose, stop trying to force a connection and seek service.

Samsung advises careful removal of visible debris and cautions against metal objects or liquids. Its charging guidance also covers port debris and other conditions that can interrupt charging.

Restart the phone and allow a depleted battery to respond
Samsung’s general Galaxy guidance recommends holding the Side and Volume Down buttons until the Samsung logo appears, then connecting a known-good charger and cable. If the battery is fully depleted, the charging indicator may take up to 10 minutes to appear. Samsung advises leaving the phone connected for at least an hour before concluding that this check has not helped.

Button behavior can depend on the A13 variant and software. If that restart sequence does not match your phone, consult support material for its exact model rather than trying an uncertain button combination. The timing above comes from Samsung Support’s general instructions, not an A13-specific diagnosis.

Let the phone dry or return to normal temperature
If the phone displays a moisture warning, disconnect the cable and let the device dry in a ventilated area. If it is unusually hot or cold, allow it to return to normal temperature before trying again. Use cool air if needed; do not heat the phone or insert anything into the port. Samsung identifies moisture and temperature as conditions that can stop charging.

Choose the next step based on what you observe
- A different charger works: Replace the faulty or incompatible accessory.
- A moisture or temperature warning appears: Disconnect the phone and let it dry or return to normal temperature before retrying.
- The cable connection is loose, or the port looks damaged or corroded: Stop using the port and request inspection.
- The phone remains unresponsive after the checks and an adequate charging wait: Contact Samsung Support or an appropriate local service provider.
These clues help decide what to do next; they do not prove which component has failed. A phone that will not charge could have an accessory, port, battery or internal charging issue, and the symptom alone cannot distinguish among them. Samsung advises service when its troubleshooting does not resolve the problem.

Galaxy A13 models differ by region, carrier and model number, so not every instruction or support page applies to every handset. Confirm the model number in the phone’s settings or on its original packaging, then use Samsung support material for that specific variant if you need model-dependent instructions. A Galaxy-wide troubleshooting page is useful for basic checks, but it is not a diagnosis of an individual A13.
