To equip an owned Sidekick, open Locker → Sidekicks and select it. If it is missing, check that you are signed in to the Epic account that earned or purchased it, clear Locker filters, and inspect Archived items. Sidekick quests are in Quests → Sidekicks, marked with a paw icon; quests and the cosmetic are separate, so a Sidekick missing from quests may still be in your Locker.
Equip a Sidekick from the Locker
- Open Fortnite’s Locker.
- Select Sidekicks.
- Choose the Sidekick you own.
Epic identifies the Sidekicks section as the place to find and customize Sidekicks. Customization is optional and is not described as a requirement for equipping one. Some Sidekicks do not support customization; when you lock in a customization choice, that choice is permanent. Epic’s Sidekicks introduction explains the Locker location and customization details.

Find Sidekick quests separately
- Open Quests.
- Choose the Sidekicks section, identified by a paw icon.
- Select the relevant Sidekick to view its available quests.
If a Sidekick’s quests are all complete, it may no longer appear in that quest section. That alone does not mean the cosmetic is missing from the Locker. If quests remain, the Locker also offers a Go to Quest option. See Epic’s Sidekicks introduction.
If the Sidekick is missing from the Locker
Confirm the Epic account and entitlement
Check that Fortnite is using the Epic account that earned, purchased, or was meant to receive the Sidekick. If it came from a promotion, verify that promotion’s exact eligibility rules and any required linked accounts. For example, Epic’s Super Meat Boy 3D offer details require the qualifying purchase and Fortnite account to match, with connected console accounts linked to the Epic account. Refunding the qualifying game purchase removes a Sidekick granted through that offer. Those conditions apply to that promotion, not necessarily to other Sidekicks.

Search the Locker without filters
Epic’s general missing-item guidance recommends verifying the account used for the purchase, checking the receipt, clearing Locker filters, and looking in Archived items. These are useful checks for a missing Sidekick, but Epic presents them as general Fortnite item guidance rather than a guaranteed Sidekick-specific fix. Follow the missing Fortnite items checklist.
Allow time only when the grant guidance says to
Epic has documented a delay for Bonesy: its support page says owners of the Bonesy Back Bling were due to receive the Sidekick on November 7, and its October 30, 2025 introduction says it may take a bit to appear in the Locker. This is Bonesy-specific guidance, not a general delivery timetable for all Sidekicks. Check the official Bonesy Sidekick support page if that is the item you are missing.

When the checks do not solve it
Contact Epic Player Support and provide the Sidekick’s name, the platform you play on, the Epic account you are using, and—if relevant—the qualifying purchase or entitlement date and proof. The official guidance cited here does not establish a universal cache-clearing, reinstall, or platform-specific fix for Sidekick equip failures, so avoid treating those steps as verified solutions.
