Start with Nintendo’s official regional store directory, then confirm the location in the host mall or department-store directory. In Japan, the permanent stores are Nintendo TOKYO in Shibuya PARCO, Nintendo OSAKA in LUCUA South, Nintendo KYOTO in Kyoto Takashimaya S.C. T8, and Nintendo FUKUOKA in Amu Plaza Hakata. Nintendo also identifies Nintendo NEW YORK and Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO in the United States, while temporary pop-up stores appear in additional cities.
Because most official locations are inside larger retail complexes, checking only a map result can be misleading. Verify the Nintendo listing, the host venue, current hours and any entry-ticket notice immediately before you travel.
What counts as an official Nintendo store?
An official Nintendo store is a location operated as part of Nintendo’s branded retail network, rather than an independent shop that merely sells Nintendo products. Nintendo describes these stores as places to buy game systems, software, peripherals and character merchandise, but also as information hubs with game demonstrations and events.

Store-within-store meaning
A Nintendo store-within-store is a Nintendo-branded shop located inside another company’s property, such as a department store, shopping mall or station-connected complex. Nintendo TOKYO is inside Shibuya PARCO; Nintendo OSAKA is inside LUCUA South; Nintendo KYOTO is inside Kyoto Takashimaya S.C. T8; and Nintendo FUKUOKA is inside Amu Plaza Hakata.
The host venue controls building access, some holiday closures and parts of the navigation experience. For that reason, a reliable search uses both Nintendo’s directory and the host complex’s own directory or floor map.
Fastest way to find the nearest legitimate location
- Open Nintendo’s official regional store page. Choose the country or region where you will visit and search for the city. The Japanese listing provides each store’s address, host complex, floor, transit directions, published hours and telephone number.
- Match the result to the host venue. Search the mall or department store for the same combination, such as “Shibuya PARCO Nintendo TOKYO” or “Amu Plaza Hakata Nintendo FUKUOKA.” A host floor map can be more useful than a general map pin once you are inside the building.
- Check the date-specific notices. Nintendo says host-complex holidays apply. Its listing also warns that busy weekends and holidays may require numbered entry tickets at Nintendo TOKYO and Nintendo OSAKA.
- Confirm the route from the correct station exit. Station-area complexes can have multiple entrances and underground connections. Use Nintendo’s access directions and then compare them with the host’s map.
- Recheck immediately before departure. Hours, holiday closures, queue rules and temporary events can change. The listing you saved months ago is not a substitute for a same-day check.

Permanent Nintendo stores in Japan
Nintendo’s Japanese store directory identifies four permanent locations. Their published hours and access details are useful for planning, but the host complex’s holiday calendar and Nintendo’s current notices take precedence.

Nintendo TOKYO
Nintendo TOKYO is on the sixth floor of Shibuya PARCO at 15-1 Udagawacho, Shibuya, Tokyo. The directory lists hours of 10:00–21:00 and places the complex about five minutes from Shibuya Station. Because it is in a busy shopping and entertainment district, allow time to locate the correct PARCO entrance and reach the sixth floor after entering the building.
Nintendo specifically warns that numbered entry tickets may be required during busy weekends and holidays. Check the current store notice before setting out; arriving at the building does not guarantee immediate entry when a ticket system is operating.
Nintendo OSAKA
Nintendo OSAKA occupies the thirteenth floor of LUCUA South in Osaka. Its listed hours are 10:00–20:00. The complex is about five minutes from Osaka or Umeda-area stations, although the precise walk depends on which station and exit you use.

Osaka’s connected station-and-mall layout can make an apparently short route confusing. Use the LUCUA South floor map after you reach the complex, and check Nintendo’s notice for numbered entry tickets on busy weekends and holidays.
Nintendo KYOTO
Nintendo KYOTO is on the seventh floor of Kyoto Takashimaya S.C. T8 at 35 Otabicho, Shijodori Teramachi, Kyoto. The store is directly connected underground to Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station, which is useful in poor weather or when you are navigating Kyoto’s crowded street level.
The directory lists hours of 10:00–20:00. Confirm the host complex’s holiday schedule before visiting, particularly around national holidays and seasonal shopping periods.
Nintendo FUKUOKA
Nintendo FUKUOKA is on the eighth floor of Amu Plaza Hakata at 1-1 Hakataekichuogai, Fukuoka. It is directly connected to JR Hakata Station, making it the simplest Japanese location to reach by rail if your itinerary passes through Hakata.
The listed hours are 10:00–20:00. Use the Amu Plaza Hakata directory to identify the correct building and elevator or escalator route, then verify any same-day notice from Nintendo.
Official Nintendo stores in the United States
Nintendo’s corporate materials identify Nintendo NEW YORK and Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO as official United States locations. If you are traveling to either city, confirm the current address, hours and visitor rules through Nintendo’s current store information before you go; the available location summary does not establish a complete set of current operating details for both stores.
Nintendo NEW YORK
Nintendo NEW YORK is the official Nintendo location identified for New York. Treat listings from map services or travel sites as leads only, and verify the result against Nintendo’s own store information before relying on it for a trip.

Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO
Nintendo’s 2025 investor-relations presentation states that Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO opened in May 2025. Because the opening date is historical and operating details can change, check the current Nintendo announcement or store page for the latest hours, access instructions and any temporary entry procedure.
Why counts can look inconsistent
Nintendo’s 2025 presentation described three locations in Japan and two in the United States at the time of that presentation, and said Nintendo FUKUOKA was planned to open on November 14, 2025. The current Japanese store listing includes Nintendo FUKUOKA as a permanent location. When you see an older total, check its publication date rather than assuming a store has closed or that a new location is missing.
How to verify a store-within-store address at the mall
Use this two-source check whenever a Nintendo store is inside another retailer’s property:
- Read Nintendo’s entry. Record the exact host name, floor, street address, published hours and access notes.
- Open the host venue’s official directory. Search the host name plus the Nintendo store. Confirm that the shop appears on the building’s tenant list or floor map.
- Compare the floor designation. Japanese complexes may use a building name, tower or annex in addition to a floor number. Make sure you are going to the same wing identified by both listings.
- Check building-wide closures. Nintendo states that host-complex holidays apply. A store can be listed as a permanent location while still being closed because the mall is closed.
- Check entry controls. For Nintendo TOKYO and Nintendo OSAKA, look for a numbered-ticket notice before you leave. Follow the day’s instructions rather than relying on a previous visit.
- Save both listings offline. Screenshots of the address, floor and hours help when underground connections or crowded areas make mobile loading difficult.
How to tell an official store from an ordinary Nintendo retailer
Use the following checks before treating a location as an official store:
- It appears in Nintendo’s official store information. A map listing, social-media page or travel blog alone is not sufficient.
- The host venue confirms it. A legitimate store-within-store should be identifiable in the mall or department-store directory.
- The branding and location match. The store name, host complex and floor should agree across the two official listings.
- The offer goes beyond ordinary resale. Official stores are described as places for Nintendo systems, software, peripherals and character merchandise, with demonstrations and events. A shop that only stocks games and consoles may simply be a retailer.
- The listing is current. Check the date and current notices, especially for pop-ups and stores in recently opened venues.
Nintendo’s support directory separately names major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart. Those businesses may be useful places to buy Nintendo products, but their appearance in a retailer directory does not turn every branch into an official Nintendo store.

Nintendo runs pop-up stores in additional cities beyond the permanent locations. A pop-up can be tied to a tour, event or limited retail period, so its city, dates, venue, stock and entry process are temporary.
Find these locations through Nintendo’s current announcements rather than an old map pin. Before traveling, verify all of the following:

- the exact host venue and floor or event hall;
- daily opening hours;
- whether reservations, numbered tickets or timed entry are required;
- any purchase limits or merchandise restrictions;
- the final day and any early-closing notice.
Do not assume that a city with a Nintendo-themed event has a permanent Nintendo store. Labeling a temporary shop as permanent can lead to a wasted journey after the event ends.
What you can expect inside an official store
Nintendo says its official stores sell game systems, software, peripherals and character merchandise. They also function as information hubs where visitors can enjoy game demonstrations and events. That combination distinguishes an official store visit from a routine purchase at a general retailer.

The official description establishes the categories sold, not a guarantee that every product is in stock at every location. If you are traveling for a particular character item, accessory or limited release, check the latest store announcement and be prepared for location-specific availability.
Demonstrations and events
Demonstrations and events can have their own schedules or capacity limits. Check the store’s current notice instead of assuming that an activity will be running throughout the published shopping hours.
Planning a visit: a practical checklist
- Choose the right city. For Japan, compare Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Fukuoka by your existing itinerary rather than by map distance alone.
- Confirm permanence. Decide whether you need a permanent store or whether a time-limited pop-up meets your goal.
- Check the host building. Note the exact tower, annex, floor and station connection.
- Read the latest notice. Look for holiday closures, revised hours, event schedules and entry-ticket instructions.
- Plan for queues. Allow extra time at Nintendo TOKYO and Nintendo OSAKA on weekends and holidays because numbered tickets may be used.
- Keep a backup option. If a temporary event is sold out or a ticket window closes, a permanent store in another city may be the only official alternative during your trip.
- Recheck on the day. Confirm that the host venue is open and that the store has not posted a new access restriction.

A retailer appears to be an official store
Compare the location with Nintendo’s official store listing and the host venue’s tenant directory. If it appears only in a retailer directory or map service, treat it as a place that sells Nintendo products, not as an official Nintendo store.
An old article lists a different store count
Store networks change as new locations open and pop-ups end. Check the publication date. Nintendo’s 2025 materials listed three Japanese and two U.S. locations at that point and announced Fukuoka’s planned November 14, 2025 opening; the current Japanese listing includes Fukuoka.
