The fastest way to find an easy Platinum is to treat it as a research and verification task, not a guess based on a game’s cover or trophy count. Choose PS5, PS4, or both in a current trophy database; filter by estimated completion time, difficulty, price, and PS Plus availability; then read the complete trophy guide before downloading or buying. The guide is where you discover missable trophies, online or server-dependent tasks, collectibles, required playthroughs, difficulty settings, patches, and known bugs.
Keep the platform and region visible throughout the search. A PS4 entry, PS5 entry, remastered edition, and regional variant can have different trophy lists, prices, times, or requirements. Third-party time and difficulty ratings are useful screening tools, but they are estimates rather than guarantees.
What an “easy Platinum” actually means
PlatPrices defines an easy Platinum as a game in which most players can earn the complete trophy list—every bronze, silver, and gold—using relatively little skill, time, or grinding, ending with the Platinum trophy. That definition is a practical starting point, not a universal rating system. A list can be mechanically simple yet still be unpleasant because of a long cleanup phase, a missable objective, an offline trophy that no longer works, or a server that has closed.

Use three separate questions
- Can I perform the tasks? This is the skill or difficulty question.
- Can I finish them in the time I have? This is the completion-time and grinding question.
- Can I still unlock every trophy? This is the missable, online, server, edition, and bug-risk question.
A game should pass all three checks before you call it an easy Platinum candidate.
The repeatable search workflow
Use this sequence whenever you are looking for a short, beginner-friendly list. It works for a single game you already own and for a completely new purchase.
- Set the platform. Select PS5, PS4, or both. If you own a particular console, start with that platform rather than assuming the other version is identical.
- Keep the region filter visible. The same title can have regional entries, separate store listings, or different prices. Do not make a buying decision from a result whose region or edition is unclear.
- Sort by estimated time. Short estimates are useful for finding quick wins, but they describe a database’s expectation, not a promise for your play style. A first-time player, a completionist, or someone following a poor route can take longer.
- Filter by difficulty. PSN Tracker’s easy shelf starts at games rated 3/10 or lower. Use that as a discovery filter, then read the guide because a low rating can hide a missable or tedious requirement.
- Check cost and subscription access. PlatPrices says its finder can sort by time, difficulty, or price, and its catalogue includes PS Plus Extra and Premium filters. Confirm the current store price or subscription inclusion before starting; both can change.
- Open the full trophy guide. Look specifically for missables, online trophies, collectibles, required playthroughs, difficulty-specific trophies, patches, and known bugs.
- Verify the exact listing. Compare the database entry with the PlayStation Store or your retailer listing. Match the console generation, edition, region, and any bundle or remaster wording.
- Plan the run before launching. Note the point at which a missable trophy can be lost, whether a manual save is recommended, and whether cleanup is possible after the story.
This process takes longer than choosing the first game with a one-digit hour estimate, but it prevents the most expensive mistake: buying a supposedly easy list that cannot be completed on your version or account.

How to judge time estimates without being misled
Completion time is normally the first filter because it quickly separates a short list from a 100-hour project. Treat it as a range, not a stopwatch. Database estimates may assume a guide, prior knowledge, a particular difficulty, or an efficient route. They may also exclude time spent troubleshooting a bug, waiting for an online match, or replaying a chapter after a missed collectible.
What a short estimate can conceal
- Multiple playthroughs: A story may be short, but separate difficulty trophies or mutually exclusive choices can require another run.
- Collectible cleanup: The main path can be quick while the final items are scattered across free-roam areas or chapter select.
- Grinding: A low-skill game can still demand repetitive currency, experience, or challenge farming.
- Route dependence: A trophy may require an action during a narrow window, making an unguided first run longer or forcing a replay.
- Online waiting: A nominally simple multiplayer trophy can take longer than the campaign if the player population is small.
When comparing two candidates, record the estimate beside the conditions attached to it. “Two hours with a guide and chapter select” is a different proposition from “two hours blind with online matchmaking.”

How difficulty ratings help—and where they fail
A difficulty score is a useful way to remove games that demand advanced combat, precision platforming, or high-level strategy. PSN Tracker labels games rated 3/10 or lower as its easy-Platinum starting shelf. That threshold is a filter, not a certification.
Ask what creates the difficulty score. A game can be rated 2/10 because its controls are forgiving while still requiring a long collectible sweep. Conversely, a game rated slightly higher may be faster and more predictable for a new player. Read the trophy-by-trophy requirements instead of comparing the headline number alone.
Questions to ask about a low-rated game
- Does the rating assume the easiest difficulty?
- Is a higher difficulty trophy mandatory, optional, or avoidable through chapter replay?
- Are there time limits, no-damage sections, or score targets?
- Can accessibility settings be used without disabling trophies?
- Does the guide identify a reliable strategy for the hardest requirement?
If the answer to any of these is unclear, the game has not yet passed the verification stage.
Read the full trophy guide before you commit
The list view tells you that a Platinum exists; the guide tells you whether it is attainable for your situation. Read the warning sections and the individual trophy notes, not just the summary rating.
Missable trophies
A missable trophy depends on a choice, conversation, item, enemy, or sequence that disappears after you advance. Mark every missable point on a checklist. If the guide recommends a manual save, make that save before the trigger and do not overwrite it until the trophy pops. A game with several missables may still be easy, but it is no longer a safe blind playthrough.

Online and service-dependent requirements
Identify trophies that require another player, matchmaking, a live service, downloadable content, or a server-side event. Check whether the guide reports an active method and whether the requirement is available in your region. “Easy” combat does not compensate for a trophy that cannot be earned because the service has ended.
Collectibles and cleanup
Find out whether collectibles are tracked in-game, whether chapter select preserves progress, and whether a map or checklist is available. PSN Tracker advertises 130 interactive maps alongside its trophy guides; that can reduce the risk of missing a hidden item, but you still need to confirm that the map matches your platform and edition.
Playthrough count
Separate “one playthrough” from “one story run plus a short cleanup.” If choices, difficulty settings, or endings are mutually exclusive, write down the order before starting. A second run that reuses chapter select is usually manageable; a second full campaign can change the value of a supposedly quick Platinum.
Patches and known bugs
Look for notes about trophies that fail to unlock, progress that must be completed in one session, or patches that changed requirements. Follow the guide’s recovery method rather than repeatedly replaying random sections. If a trophy does not appear, first confirm that every condition was met, then check the game’s trophy notes and synchronize your console’s trophy data.
PS5, PS4, editions, and regional entries
Do not assume that “the game” is one trophy list. A PS5 release and a PS4 release can have separate entries, different requirements, or different completion times. A remaster, bundle, trial, or region-specific listing may also be treated as a separate product by the database.

Before buying or downloading
- Match the database platform label to the version installed on your console.
- Check whether the listing is a native PS5 game, a PS4 game playable through backward compatibility, or a bundle containing both.
- Confirm the store region and account region; prices and availability can differ.
- Read whether trophies transfer between versions or require separate playthroughs; do not assume an automatic stack.
- Check the guide date and recent comments for version-specific bugs.
The open-source “PlayStation: Easy platinums” repository separates PS4 and PS5 entries and includes regional variants with time and price fields. It is described as updated daily, which is helpful for discovery, but its rows remain database listings rather than guarantees of player experience.
Which databases are useful for finding candidates?
No single list is complete or permanently current. Use one service to discover games and another guide to verify the run.
| Source | What it provides | How to use it safely |
|---|---|---|
| TrueTrophies | A 2025 guide titled “48 easy PS5 trophy lists,” updated 2 October 2025. Its editorial team says it curated the list using personal experience, review scores, and community ratings. | Use it as a curated starting shelf, then open the individual list and check current requirements. |
| “PlayStation: Easy platinums” repository | Daily-updated PS4 and PS5 entries, regional variants, and time and price fields. Examples shown include PS5 and PS4 versions of Find the Thing at about two minutes, and regional Flip It entries with different times and prices. | Use platform and region filters. Treat every minute and price as a listing value, not a promise or universal price. |
| PSN Tracker | 475 trophy guides and 130 interactive maps, with missable warnings and collectible maps. Its easy shelf begins with games rated 3/10 or lower. | Use the difficulty shelf for discovery and the detailed guide for missables, collectibles, and route planning. |
| PlatPrices | A finder that can sort by estimated time, difficulty, or price, with catalogue filters for PS Plus Extra and Premium. | Use it to narrow the catalogue, then verify current subscription status and the exact store edition. |
The numbers above describe what each source reported at the stated dates or access period. They are not a guarantee that every guide, map, price, or service remains unchanged.
A concrete example of comparing an easy-looking game
PSN Tracker lists Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PS5 at 50 trophies, an estimated 10–20 hours, and difficulty 2/10. Those figures make it a strong candidate for a beginner-friendly Platinum, but they do not answer every practical question. Before starting, open the guide and verify missables, collectibles, required playthroughs, difficulty conditions, and any version notes. The estimate and rating tell you why to investigate; they do not replace the investigation.
Use the same discipline with extremely short database entries. A listing such as Find the Thing at about two minutes may be accurate for the database record, yet you still need to confirm that you are viewing the correct PS4 or PS5 version and region. For Flip It, the repository shows regional entries with different prices and times; select the row that matches your account rather than copying a value from another region.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.

Build a comparison table before choosing
When several games survive the first filter, put the decision on one screen. The following columns capture the issues that most often turn an “easy” list into an inconvenient one.
| Comparison field | What to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Platform and edition | PS5, PS4, bundle, remaster, or regional variant | Different entries can have different trophy lists and requirements. |
| Estimated time | Database range and any assumptions | Separates a genuine quick win from a short story with a long cleanup. |
| Difficulty | Score and the task producing the score | A low number may still hide precision sections, grinding, or a difficult optional trophy. |
| Missables | Count, trigger points, and save advice | Determines whether a blind run is safe. |
| Online dependence | Required players, matchmaking, or service status | A simple trophy can become impossible or slow when a service changes. |
| Collectibles | Total, tracking method, map, and chapter-select support | Shows the likely cleanup burden. |
| Playthroughs | Full runs, partial replays, and difficulty requirements | Reveals the real workload behind the headline time. |
| Price or PS Plus | Current region-specific price or subscription availability | Prevents a stale listing from driving a purchase. |
| Guide currency | Publication or update date and recent issue notes | Older advice may predate a patch, delisting, or server change. |
Choose the game with the best combination for your constraints, not necessarily the lowest difficulty score. Someone with no interest in multiplayer should reject a 2/10 online list in favor of a 4/10 offline list that can be completed reliably.
Plan the run so easy stays easy
Before the first trophy
- Read the complete guide once, including the roadmap and warning sections.
- Copy missable triggers into a short checklist you can consult during play.
- Decide whether to follow a collectible route immediately or clean up later.
- Confirm that the installed version and account region match the guide entry.
- If the guide recommends backup saves, create them before the relevant choices.
During the story
- Prioritize trophies with a one-time trigger over tasks that can be repeated later.
- Record collectibles as you obtain them instead of trusting memory.
- Do not change difficulty or skip a chapter until you understand the trophy consequences.
- When a trophy requirement is unclear, pause and reread the guide’s exact wording rather than experimenting past a point of no return.
After the story
- Use chapter select or free roam for cleanup only if the guide confirms that progress carries over.
- Compare your in-game tracker with the trophy guide’s list.
- Finish online or service-dependent tasks while the documented method is still available.
- Synchronize trophy data after unlocking the final requirement if the console display has not updated.
What to do when a trophy does not unlock
First distinguish a delayed display from a failed requirement. Sony’s support material explains that trophies are awarded for activities such as completing missions or levels, finding collectibles, and completing specific tasks, and it documents viewing and synchronizing trophies on PS5 and PS4.
Recommended Free Tools
- Recheck the trophy’s exact conditions and confirm that the action was completed on the correct edition and difficulty.
- Check the guide for a missable trigger, a required sequence, or a known bug.
- Reload the appropriate save or replay the documented chapter instead of repeating unrelated content.
- View the trophy list on the console and synchronize it using the platform’s documented trophy function.
- If the guide identifies a patch requirement, update the game before trying the recovery route.
Do not infer that a trophy is impossible solely because its notification was delayed. Verify the requirement, the version, and the synchronization state in that order.
Common mistakes that waste a Platinum attempt
- Choosing by trophy count alone: A small list can contain a demanding challenge, while a larger list can be a straightforward story completion.
- Trusting a single time estimate: Estimates vary with route, skill, guide use, and cleanup.
- Ignoring region labels: A price or edition from another region may not apply to your account.
- Skipping the guide roadmap: You can lock yourself out of a missable trophy and add a full replay.
- Assuming PS4 and PS5 are interchangeable: Separate entries may have different requirements or progress behavior.
- Overlooking online requirements: Server status and player populations change.
- Starting before checking patches: A known bug can alter the safest route.
- Treating a curated list as permanent: Editorial lists, subscription catalogues, prices, and services change over time.
How to keep your shortlist current
Recheck volatile facts immediately before you start. Difficulty and time estimates can be revised, prices and PS Plus catalogues change, regional availability differs, and servers can close. A guide updated on 2 October 2025 may still be useful, but recent comments and version notes matter when the game has received patches or the platform listing has changed.
A practical maintenance habit is to keep only three or four candidates. For each one, record the platform, region, estimated time, difficulty, missables, online dependence, and guide date. Remove a candidate if its service requirement is unavailable, its edition does not match your console, or the guide cannot explain how to recover from a missed trophy.
Final decision rule
Call a Platinum “easy” only after it passes this test: the platform and region match; the current guide shows a manageable time and difficulty; all missables are understood; online and server requirements are available; collectibles and cleanup have a clear route; the required playthroughs fit your schedule; and the store or PS Plus listing is current. Databases are excellent at finding possibilities, while the detailed guide and edition check determine whether a possibility is a sensible choice for you.
