Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Samsung Sound Assistant has not shut down: as of October 4, 2026, its Galaxy Store listing still offers installation and shows version 8.5.00.2, dated May 22, 2026. Availability can vary by device, region, and future updates. Sound Assistant is a Good Lock audio utility for Galaxy phones, not the Samsung Sound app used to control certain speakers and soundbars.
How to find Sound Assistant
- Open Galaxy Store on your Galaxy phone.
- Search for Sound Assistant and check the listing for compatibility and installation options. Samsung identifies it as a Good Lock Labs app/module for Galaxy. View the Galaxy Store listing.
- Install or update the module if the store offers it for your device, then open it and look for the sound control you want.
Samsung’s listing includes One UI support notes and warns that some devices may not be supported. If Sound Assistant does not appear or cannot be installed, check the listing and your phone’s software compatibility; do not assume every Galaxy model supports it. Samsung also notes that available features and settings can vary by software version and phone model. See Samsung’s Good Lock support information.
Samsung does not document one universal menu path for every One UI release, so labels and screen layouts may differ. Use the installed module’s available controls rather than relying on instructions for another phone or software version.
What Sound Assistant can do
Choose the feature you need, then check whether it appears in your installed version. Samsung documents these capabilities, though availability may differ across devices and software releases.

Do not confuse Sound Assistant with Samsung Sound
Sound Assistant is a Galaxy phone audio utility. Samsung Sound is a separate app associated with certain Samsung Q-Series soundbars, Wi-Fi Speakers, and Music Frame products. Samsung says to use SmartThings for compatible audio devices when Samsung Sound is unavailable or a device is incompatible. That guidance concerns control of external audio devices; it is not a Sound Assistant shutdown notice or migration path. See Samsung’s Samsung Sound support instructions.
