What “Meta Muse” means
“Meta Muse” commonly refers to Muse Image, Meta’s image-generation model used through Meta AI and some Meta app experiences. Meta announced Muse Image on July 7, 2026, describing it as its first image-generation model from Meta Superintelligence Labs. Meta says creations can be downloaded and shared, including to a feed, story, or chat. Meta’s announcement describes a rollout across products; availability can differ by app, country, and date.
Where to look for an image you made
First identify the surface you used. Meta lists Meta AI access through meta.ai, the Meta AI mobile app, and chats in WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, or Facebook. These are possible places to create with Meta AI, not confirmation that every surface has a persistent, searchable Muse Image gallery.
- Recall where you created it. Was it on the Meta AI website, in the Meta AI app, or inside a Meta app conversation or creative experience?
- Return to that surface. Open the same app or website and, where relevant, the original conversation or story experience.
- Look for the generated image where you left it. Interface labels and available features may vary. Meta’s published material does not establish a universal “Gallery,” “Creations,” or “History” route, so do not assume one exists.
How to save a visible image
When you can see the image, use the download or save control associated with it. Meta confirms downloads are supported, but does not specify one control name or identical steps across web, mobile apps, and operating systems. This is a practical workflow based on the visible image, not a guaranteed set of Meta menu instructions.

- Open the image in the place where it appears.
- Choose the available download or save option for that image. If the interface offers sharing instead, you can share it to a feed, story, or chat, but sharing is not the same as saving a separate copy to your device.
- Check your device’s Downloads folder or its Photos/Gallery app. The destination depends on whether you used a browser or app, your operating system, and your device settings.
If the image is no longer visible
Check the original conversation or the place where you created it, then check any feed, story, or chat where you deliberately shared it. Meta’s published materials do not document a universal way to restore a Muse Image creation that has disappeared, nor do they establish how long every creation remains available.
Facebook’s Activity Log and general account information tools describe ways to review or export Facebook information. The material does not say these tools include Muse Image outputs or can recover a missing generated image, so they are not a confirmed recovery method.

Availability and account limits
Meta’s July 2026 announcement described everyday Muse Image creation as free, with subscription plans for people who want to create more. That does not establish that a subscription is required to download an image already visible to you. The announcement also described availability rolling out across surfaces and, for some WhatsApp access, in certain countries; it is not a guarantee of the current feature set in every region or app. Check the Meta AI surface you use for what is available to your account.
