Poppy’s Fortnite musical mini-game is called Poppy Secret Run, an interactive island built around her song “Time Will Tell.” The announced play window is October 23 through November 23, 2026. When it is live, open Fortnite’s Discover or island-discovery interface, search for Poppy Secret Run, and launch the listed island. Pre-launch coverage reported no public island code, so the in-game listing is the dependable way to enter. You can play alone or with a party, choose Light or Dark routes, and replay to uncover optional story rooms.
What Poppy Secret Run is
Poppy Secret Run is a creator-led Fortnite island designed as a musical journey rather than a conventional battle-royale match. Its central performance uses Poppy’s song “Time Will Tell” while the player moves through a surreal, clock-themed world. The experience was developed with Paris-based creative-technology studio SoWhen? and is described in launch coverage as an interactive musical journey hosted exclusively on Fortnite.
The island combines a guided performance with light exploration. Two versions of Poppy guide the journey, and her sphynx cat, Pi, appears in the environment. At key moments, the game asks you to choose between Light and Dark. Those choices determine which route you take, so two playthroughs can present different spaces or story beats instead of repeating exactly the same sequence.

Availability and launch timing
The announced availability window runs from October 23 to November 23, 2026. On October 19, 2026, the island had not launched publicly. That means a search performed before opening day may return no result, and an island code found in an unofficial post may be obsolete or incorrect.
Availability is time-limited. Unless the creators announce an extension, plan to complete your playthrough before the stated closing date. Fortnite islands can also appear in different places in Discover as the service updates, so searching by the exact title is more reliable than browsing a fixed row or assuming a permanent menu tile.
How to find and launch the island
Use this sequence when the announced window is open. The labels can vary slightly by platform or Fortnite interface revision, but the route is the same: update the game, open island discovery, search the title, and launch the matching listing.

- Open Discover or island discovery. From Fortnite’s main interface, enter the area used to browse and search islands. Do not start in Fortnite Festival’s Main Stage or Jam Stage; those are separate music modes.
- Search for the exact name. Enter
Poppy Secret Run. Check the title and artwork of the result before launching, because similarly worded creator islands may appear in search. - Open the island listing. Select the result that matches Poppy Secret Run and read the listing details shown by Fortnite. Pre-launch reporting did not provide a public island code, so use the live Discover result rather than trying to reconstruct a code from a third-party post.
- Choose solo or party play. Start alone if you want to control every choice, or invite friends before launching. Launch coverage reports support for parties of up to four players.
- Start the experience. Confirm the launch prompt and wait for the island to load. The opening sequence leads into the clock-themed setting and introduces the presentation.
- Make your route choice. When the game presents the Light or Dark decision, select the side you want to explore. Your selection changes the route rather than simply changing a cosmetic effect.
- Replay for additional content. After finishing, return to the island listing and launch again to investigate the alternate route, optional rooms, and locked-door stories. If your goal is the audiovisual presentation rather than exploration, select the reported performance-only option when it is offered in the live build.
If the listing is not visible
First confirm that the calendar has reached the opening date in your region and that Fortnite has completed its update. Close and reopen the game so Discover can refresh. Search the full title instead of a shortened term such as “Poppy” or “Time Will Tell,” then check the island-discovery search results rather than Festival menus. If the island still does not appear after launch, the listing may be delayed, temporarily unavailable, or renamed; check Fortnite’s current in-game announcements and the creator’s official launch communication.

What the experience is like
A performance you move through
Poppy Secret Run is structured around the performance of “Time Will Tell.” You are not selecting individual instrumental parts or competing for a score. Instead, you travel through environments that shift around the music and the narrative prompts. The clock imagery supplies the visual theme, while the two versions of Poppy act as guides through the journey.
Light and Dark routes
The Light/Dark prompt is the main interactive decision. Treat it as a route selection: the choice can lead you through a different sequence of spaces and scenes. If you want to see both versions, note which side you picked on your first run and select the opposite side on the replay. Because the route is chosen during the experience, you do not need to configure a preference in Fortnite’s settings.
Pi, locked doors, and optional stories
Poppy’s sphynx cat, Pi, appears in the world as part of the environmental storytelling. Locked doors indicate optional material rather than a problem with your installation. On a replay, examine side areas and doors you passed on the first run; the reported design places additional stories behind some of them. The island is therefore better approached as a short interactive world than as a one-time song video.

Performance-only mode
Launch coverage reports a performance-only mode for people who want to watch or hear the presentation without following the interactive route. Look for that option in the live island’s instructions or prompts. Its exact location and name may differ from the pre-launch description, so do not assume it will be a permanent Fortnite-wide setting.

Playing with friends
You can begin Poppy Secret Run solo or invite a party before starting. A party is useful when you want to compare reactions to the Light/Dark decision or explore the optional rooms together. Have everyone join the same Fortnite party first, then launch the island from the listing so the group enters the same session.
Because the island is built as a guided performance, coordinate before selecting a route. If players choose different options at a prompt, the session may follow the selection made by the player who controls that interaction. Agreeing on Light or Dark in voice chat prevents confusion and makes a shared first run easier to follow.
For a second session, consider splitting your goals: one run for the main performance, another for the alternate route, and a third for locked-door stories. Players who want to absorb the music without stopping for exploration can use the performance-only mode if it is available in the live build.
Do not confuse it with Fortnite Festival
Poppy Secret Run and Fortnite Festival both involve music, but they are different Fortnite destinations. Poppy’s island is a creator-led, story-focused experience that you find through Discover. Festival is Epic’s separate music mode, with dedicated Main Stage and Jam Stage tiles and its own song controls.

If you open Festival and cannot find Poppy Secret Run, nothing is wrong with the island search: you are simply in the wrong mode. Return to the main menu, open Discover, and search the island title there. Conversely, Festival’s setlist, instrument-part, and guitar-controller rules do not apply to Poppy’s interactive journey.
Launch-day checklist
- Check that your device is supported and Fortnite is fully updated.
- Open Discover or island discovery rather than Festival.
- Search the exact title,
Poppy Secret Run. - Use the live listing; no public code was reported before launch.
- Decide whether your first run is solo or a shared party session.
- Agree on Light or Dark before the route prompt if you are playing with friends.
- Reserve time for at least one replay if you want to inspect optional rooms.
Troubleshooting common problems
“I cannot find Poppy Secret Run.”
Check the date first. Before the announced opening day, a missing result is expected. After launch, update Fortnite, restart it, and search the exact title in Discover. Discover rows can change, so do not rely on a promotional tile remaining in the same position.
“I found a code online, but it does not work.”
Pre-launch coverage did not list a public island code. Treat an unofficial code as unverified and use the in-game listing instead. Codes can be mistyped, withdrawn, or associated with a different island.

“My friends loaded into different places.”
Have everyone join one Fortnite party before the island is launched, then start from the same listing. If someone disconnects, return to the party and relaunch together. The live island’s party limit controls how many people can enter one session.

“The route is not what I expected.”
Light and Dark are meaningful route choices. The selected side can change the sequence of environments, so replay and choose the other option if you want to compare the paths. Optional stories may require exploring side areas or returning to doors that were locked during the first pass.
“I only want to watch the performance.”
Look for the performance-only mode described in launch coverage. If the option is absent, the final island build may have changed the presentation, or the mode may be available only at a particular prompt. You can still move through the main route without treating every side room as a required objective.
“The island disappeared after I played it.”
The experience is scheduled as a limited-time island. Search Discover again while the announced window is active and confirm that Fortnite is online and updated. After the closing date, access depends on whether the creators announce an extension; do not assume the listing will remain permanently available.
How to plan your playthrough
For the cleanest first experience, play once without looking up route details, choose Light or Dark when prompted, and follow the performance from beginning to end. On the next run, select the opposite route and deliberately inspect side spaces, Pi appearances, and locked doors. A party run works well for discussing choices, while a solo run gives you complete control over pacing and exploration.
Remember that Poppy Secret Run is a Fortnite island, not a Festival song pack. You do not need a guitar controller, Festival setlist, or instrument selection to start it. The only essential preparation is an updated Fortnite installation, access to Discover, and enough time to play before the limited event ends.
