The most reliable Emperor Modulator farm starts at Pendola Pass when the map has the Redirection condition. Activate an active Damaged Emperor Relay, take its Emperor Beacon, deploy the beacon under open sky, and loot the large Harvester Payload. Collect the ARC Conductive, ARC Insulated and ARC Plated Couplers plus the Emperor Gateway Conduit Blueprint, craft the conduit at Workbench I, then enter the fallen Emperor. The Modulator is found in the dungeon’s final loot room or hangar, with extra chances from wall panels, hatches and a deeper container reached through a secret tunnel.
Where the Emperor Modulator comes from
The Emperor Modulator is an end-of-dungeon loot item. It does not come from an ordinary surface container or a standard relay cache. You must first prepare access to the fallen Emperor, complete its randomized interior, and reach the final loot area. Sean Martin, a senior guides writer at PC Gamer, identifies the final loot room as the Modulator location; his guide says one or two containers there can contain one.
The preparation phase is a separate farming loop on Pendola Pass. During the Redirection map condition, an activated Damaged Emperor Relay calls down a large Harvester Payload. That payload is the most dependable place to obtain the materials and blueprint needed to open the dungeon. The route is therefore:

- Find one of the active Damaged Emperor Relays shown on the map.
- Activate the relay and take the Emperor Beacon.
- Deploy the beacon in a clear, open area, take cover and loot the falling payload.
- Obtain one of each required coupler and the Emperor Gateway Conduit Blueprint.
- Craft the Emperor Gateway Conduit at Workbench I.
- Use the conduit to unlock the fallen Emperor and search the final hangar thoroughly.
Step 1: Find an active Damaged Emperor Relay
Power Up Gaming’s 2026 guide reports 10 fixed Damaged Emperor Relay locations across the relevant route, with two active at a time. The active relays are marked on the in-game map, so you do not need to check all ten on every run. Open the map before committing to a long rotation and plan for the relay currently displayed as active.

What to bring for the relay run
- Enough inventory space: The beacon and several ARC components may occupy slots before you reach the Emperor.
- Healing and shields: The relay event and the dungeon can both cost health or shield charges.
- A Snap Hook: Vertical movement is valuable in the Emperor interior and for recovering from awkward traversal points.
- A weapon for yellow nodes: An Anvil or Renegade is recommended for breaking the yellow destructible nodes that can reveal extra payloads.
- Anti-Hydra capability: A Hullcracker is recommended for Hydra turrets; a Rascal can work if you accept a slower takedown.
- Stims: Keep emergency movement and recovery options for the final hangar rather than spending every charge during the approach.
Activating the relay safely
Interact with the active Damaged Emperor Relay and collect the Emperor Beacon it produces. Up to three beacons can be carried at once, according to Power Up Gaming. That capacity lets a squad prepare multiple drops before returning to a preferred deployment area, but carrying several beacons also increases the value of extracting safely if the run becomes crowded.
Choose a deployment point with a broad view of the sky and enough room to move. Do not stand directly beneath the incoming payload. Falling debris can damage both health and shields, so activate the beacon, move to cover, and wait for the impact sequence to finish before approaching the payload.
Step 2: Loot the Redirection Harvester Payload
The large payload is the key-material source for the Emperor route. Its possible contents include the three ARC couplers, the conduit blueprint, Pneumatic Actuators, Pressure Regulators and other ARC parts. The exact contents are not guaranteed on every drop, so treat each Redirection event as a preparation run rather than assuming the first payload completes the recipe.
The materials you need
To make the Emperor Gateway Conduit, you need:
- One ARC Conductive Coupler
- One ARC Insulated Coupler
- One ARC Plated Coupler
- The Emperor Gateway Conduit Blueprint
Once all four requirements are in your inventory or otherwise available to the crafting station, use Workbench I to craft the Emperor Gateway Conduit. The blueprint is a prerequisite, not a consumable replacement for the three couplers; missing any one of the couplers prevents the recipe from being completed.
Inspecting the payload completely
Search the main payload container first, then inspect any exposed or breakable sections around it. Yellow nodes are worth clearing with an Anvil or Renegade because they can expose additional loot payloads. Take only what advances the Emperor attempt if your backpack is filling with general ARC parts, but do not discard a required coupler to make room for a low-value item.

Alternative ways to obtain the blueprint and couplers
The Redirection payload is the main deterministic preparation route, but it is not the only possible source. Arc Raiders Hub reports that the Emperor Gateway Conduit Blueprint may also appear in a Surveyor Vault. The same coverage notes that couplers can drop on the Frigate. These are fallback options when repeated Redirection payloads have not supplied a missing item.

The Frigate is not a substitute for the Emperor’s final hangar when your target is specifically the Modulator. It is a separate source for Amplification Modules and may help with couplers, but it carries a different competition and risk profile.

- Return to a station with Workbench I.
- Confirm that the Emperor Gateway Conduit Blueprint is unlocked or present.
- Verify that your inventory contains an ARC Conductive Coupler, ARC Insulated Coupler and ARC Plated Coupler.
- Craft the Emperor Gateway Conduit.
- Enter a run in which you can reach the fallen Emperor with enough healing, ammunition and time remaining.
- Use the conduit at the Emperor entrance to unlock the door.
Do not begin the dungeon without reserving time for extraction. Arc Raiders Hub describes a broadcast warning that the safe window is closing at roughly ten minutes remaining. The precise timing of an individual run can vary, but the practical rule is fixed: leave a buffer for the final hangar, backtracking and an exit route instead of spending the entire window in middle rooms.
Inside the fallen Emperor: how to reach the loot
The Emperor’s middle section is not a single memorized corridor. Arc Raiders Hub reports that the interior route changes between sessions and that six route layouts exist in the game files. Learn the room types and traversal problems rather than relying on one video route or a fixed sequence of doors.
Use the Snap Hook for vertical sections
Bring the Snap Hook and look above and below each room before committing to a doorway. Vertical shortcuts, ledges and alternate drops can be easier to miss than the main path. If a room appears to offer an obvious exit but also contains a lower opening, check the lower route: Power Up Gaming describes a secret tunnel that leads to a deeper container when you ignore an offered exit and drop nearby.

Search beyond the obvious containers
The final area rewards a deliberate sweep rather than a single-container grab. Check:
- The one or two containers in the final loot room or hangar that may hold the Emperor Modulator.
- Yellow wall nodes that can be destroyed to expose additional loot payloads.
- Wall panels, hatches and floor canisters throughout the interior.
- The deeper container reached through the nearby secret tunnel after dropping from the apparent exit route.
Arc Raiders Hub counts about 30 wall panels in the main interior. A launch-day run reported Amplification Modules from Mk. I through Mk. V among those panels. This makes a panel sweep worthwhile when you are farming modules in addition to the Modulator, but it should not delay extraction after the safe-window warning.
The best Emperor Modulator loot room
The final loot room, often described as the final hangar, is the Modulator-focused destination. PC Gamer’s 2026 coverage says one or two final-room containers can contain Emperor Modulators. Clear or evade any ARC enemies that spawn, then open every container and inspect the exposed payloads before moving to the exit.
How to handle the hangar fight
- Arrive with resources: Keep shields, heals and Stims for this section whenever possible.
- Use cover while opening containers: A loot animation leaves you vulnerable to ARC fire.
- Break yellow nodes: An Anvil or Renegade makes the work faster and can reveal another payload.
- Deal with Hydra turrets efficiently: Use a Hullcracker, or a Rascal if you can afford the slower destruction time.
- Secure the item immediately: Put the Modulator in the safe pocket as soon as you find it instead of continuing to search with it exposed in your ordinary inventory.
After looting, use the opened hatch or a side exit to extract. The route out may not be identical to the route in, so identify exits while the area is still quiet. If the hangar is contested by ARC enemies or another player, taking the Modulator and leaving is usually more valuable than clearing every remaining panel.

If you do not have the conduit recipe
Prioritize Pendola Pass during Redirection and inspect every active relay marked on the map. If multiple runs fail to produce the blueprint, add Surveyor Vaults to your rotation. Do not spend repeated attempts inside the Emperor until the recipe is secured; the conduit is the gate to the dungeon.
If one coupler is missing
Continue with Redirection payloads first because they can produce the required couplers directly. Use the Frigate as a secondary search when the missing coupler does not appear. The Frigate can be contested, so decide whether the expected time saved outweighs the risk of losing a prepared run.
If you already have the conduit
Go straight to the fallen Emperor with a survival-oriented loadout. The final hangar and its containers are the highest-priority destination for the Modulator. Search wall panels and the secret-tunnel container only after you have a safe path to the final room and enough extraction time.
If you are farming Amplification Modules
Search the Emperor’s wall panels and exposed payloads; the reported launch-day run found Mk. I through Mk. V modules there. Also consider Frigate hatches, which Arc Raiders Hub identifies as a separate Amplification Module source. These objectives overlap with an Emperor run, but the Frigate does not replace the final hangar for Modulator farming.
Common failures and fixes
The relay is not where you expected
Only two of the ten fixed relay sites are active at a time. Check the map’s active markers instead of searching every known location. If the map condition is not Redirection, wait for a suitable rotation or use the secondary Vault and Frigate possibilities for individual materials.

The payload damaged you on arrival
Beacon debris damages health and shields. Deploy in open space, then move behind cover before impact. Refill survivability items before attempting the Emperor; entering with depleted shields turns a successful material run into an avoidable extraction failure.
You have couplers but cannot craft the conduit
Confirm that all three coupler types are present: Conductive, Insulated and Plated. Then verify the Emperor Gateway Conduit Blueprint and use Workbench I. Possessing duplicate couplers does not compensate for a missing type or missing blueprint.
You cannot find the Modulator inside the Emperor
Continue to the final loot room or hangar. The Modulator is not guaranteed in every container, and the available evidence points to one or two final-room containers as the possible locations. Check both containers, then inspect yellow nodes, wall panels, hatches, floor canisters and the secret-tunnel container before deciding the run is empty.
You ran out of time in the final room
Middle rooms are randomized, so a memorized route can create false confidence. Move through room types efficiently, avoid unnecessary fights, and reserve time for the hangar, container searches and extraction. The safe-window warning at about ten minutes remaining is a signal to stop optional looting and commit to the final objective.
What is known to change between updates
The route and loot information available for October 2026 comes from third-party guides dated October 8–9, 2026. Arc Raiders Hub labels its Amplification Module route as updated and says the route was still being confirmed during a full run. The Emperor’s interior layouts and loot tables can therefore change after a game patch. Recheck the in-game map markers, blueprint requirements and final-room behavior after updates rather than assuming an older run remains exact.
