Equip or change a Fortnite skin
- Launch Fortnite and return to the lobby.
- Open the Locker tab.
- Select Character.
- Choose the outfit you want to use.
- Select Back to return to the lobby. Your avatar reflects the cosmetics selected there, according to Epic’s outfit instructions and its Locker item instructions.
You can choose among outfits available in your Locker. Equipping an owned outfit is a menu operation; it does not require a physical product.

Equip a different cosmetic from your Locker
For another Locker cosmetic, open Locker from the lobby, select the item you want, and go back. Epic describes this as the way to equip an item from the Locker: How do I equip an Item from my Fortnite Locker?
Change an outfit’s style
Some outfits and other items offer alternate styles; not every item does. Select the item in Locker and choose Edit to view the styles available to your account. A style may already be selectable or may need to be unlocked, and styles included in a pack appear in that item’s style list. If a style you expect is missing after a pack purchase or grant, see Epic’s troubleshooting instructions.

Customize the Default Outfit
Fortnite also provides a separate flow for changing the appearance of the Default Outfit:
- Open Locker, select Character, then open Outfits.
- Find the hanger-and-shirt icon at the upper left of the outfits list and select it.
- Open the three-dot menu and choose Edit Styles.
- Choose an option under Pick Outfit.

If the menus look different or an item is unavailable
Epic’s English support instructions describe the outfit route as Locker → Character → outfit → Back. If your platform’s layout differs, look for the corresponding Locker and Character sections; labels and layouts can change with game updates. Epic’s terms also say in-game content features, pricing, availability, and functionality can change, and compatibility may depend on the experience or platform. That means owning or equipping a cosmetic does not guarantee it is offered or works in every experience. (Epic Games Terms of Service)
