For an NVIDIA RTX GPU, enable microphone Noise Removal in the NVIDIA Broadcast app, then choose Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast) as the input in the app where you call or stream. If you have a GTX GPU, NVIDIA’s setup guide directs you to the separate RTX Voice app instead. In both cases, the effect only reaches other apps through NVIDIA’s virtual microphone.

Choose the NVIDIA app that matches your GPU

NVIDIA describes RTX Voice as an earlier noise-removal plugin and says a newer version of its noise-removal feature is available in the NVIDIA Broadcast app. They are separate software paths, not two names for the same current app.

GPU Use What it does
Supported GeForce RTX, Quadro RTX, or TITAN RTX GPU NVIDIA Broadcast Noise Removal plus other audio and video effects. NVIDIA lists a GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX, or higher as minimum GPU options on its Broadcast product page.
NVIDIA GTX GPU RTX Voice The noise-removal route retained in NVIDIA’s RTX Voice setup guide. NVIDIA cautions that results may vary on older cards.

Broadcast’s published requirements include 8 GB RAM, a recommended Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or higher, and an R570-series or later driver. NVIDIA’s materials list Windows 10 64-bit as a baseline, while requirements may vary by installer or product-page update; check the live download page for your system before installing. The installer needs internet access to download AI models, and NVIDIA’s setup guide says to allow about 3 GB of additional storage. NVIDIA’s pages have shown differing version labels, so use the current download rather than relying on a version number from older instructions.

Set up Noise Removal in NVIDIA Broadcast

  1. Check eligibility and download: Confirm that your GPU and system meet the current requirements on NVIDIA’s Broadcast page, then download the app from NVIDIA.
  2. Install while online: Keep the PC connected to the internet so the installer can download the required AI models.
  3. Select the microphone and enable the effect: Open NVIDIA Broadcast, choose the physical microphone you want to use, and turn on Noise Removal.
  4. Route the processed audio: In the calling, recording, or streaming app, set the microphone input to the NVIDIA Broadcast virtual microphone. Menu names and locations differ by app.
  5. Avoid duplicate processing: Turn off other noise-removal or cancellation effects in the receiving app and in microphone or headset software.

Set up RTX Voice on a GTX PC

NVIDIA’s guide lists Windows 10 and an NVIDIA GTX or RTX GPU with driver 410.18 or newer for RTX Voice. Broadcast is NVIDIA’s prescribed option for supported RTX GPUs; do not combine RTX Voice’s older requirements with Broadcast’s current requirements.

  • A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
  1. Download and install RTX Voice using NVIDIA’s setup guide.
  2. In RTX Voice, choose the physical microphone and enable background-noise removal for the microphone.
  3. In the app that will receive your voice, choose Microphone (NVIDIA RTX Voice) as the input.
  4. Disable overlapping noise-cancellation features in that app or in your microphone/headset software. Enable RTX Voice speaker processing only if you need it.

Check the input in your calling or streaming app

Changing the microphone in NVIDIA Broadcast or RTX Voice does not automatically change the input used by Discord, OBS, Zoom, or another app. Open that app’s audio settings and explicitly select the NVIDIA virtual microphone. NVIDIA lists OBS Studio, Discord, Zoom, Slack, Teams, Skype, Chrome, and other communication and streaming apps as examples for RTX Voice, but the available controls can differ between app versions.

If others still hear background noise, first confirm that the receiving app is using the NVIDIA virtual microphone rather than the physical mic. Then check that Noise Removal is enabled for the selected physical microphone and that another audio effect is not overriding or duplicating the processing.

Performance and effect trade-offs

NVIDIA says the performance impact depends on the GPU, game, webcam resolution and frame rate, and number of effects being used. Its FAQ reports a 5% to 10% impact on a GeForce RTX 5090; that is NVIDIA’s vendor-reported measurement, not a guarantee for other GPUs or workloads. NVIDIA recommends disabling effects you are not using or reducing camera resolution or frame rate if performance becomes an issue.

Microphone noise removal is the main setup described here. RTX Voice speaker processing is optional and uses system resources. NVIDIA also says Broadcast’s Studio Voice effect uses more GPU resources and is not recommended while gaming or running a GPU-intensive application.
