To use PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), enable Enhance PSSR Image Quality in the settings on a PS5 Pro. Sony says the option applies to supported games and that results vary by title; if you see unexpected visual effects, you can turn it off. This setting is for PS5 Pro, not the standard PS5.
How to enable PSSR on PS5 Pro
-
Make sure your PS5 Pro has current system software. To check, go to Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings > Update System Software, then install an update if one is offered. See Sony’s system software update instructions.

Open a game that supports PSSR and check the image in play. The option is not a universal enhancement for every PS5 game.

Where is “Enhance PSSR Image Quality”?
Look in the PS5 Pro settings for the exact label Enhance PSSR Image Quality. Sony instructs players to turn it on but does not publish a more specific path in the cited guidance. If you do not see it, first check for a system software update, then confirm that you are using a PS5 Pro.
What to expect when you configure PSSR
PSSR is Sony’s AI-based upscaling technology. Sid Shuman, Senior Director of Sony Interactive Entertainment Content Communications, describes it as an AI library that analyzes each frame pixel by pixel as it upscales game visuals. The enhanced-image-quality option may improve image stability in supported titles, including games made for the original PSSR, but Sony cautions that results vary by title.
Compare the image with the option on and off in the same game. Look at fine detail, image stability, and any artifacts or other unexpected effects. Sony does not promise a universal frame-rate gain or that one setting will look better in every game.
When to turn the option off
If a supported game looks worse or shows unexpected visual effects with the option enabled, turn Enhance PSSR Image Quality off and check the same scene again. Sony specifically says players can disable the option if unexpected effects occur; whether the enabled or disabled setting looks preferable depends on the game.

Which PS5 Pro games support enhanced PSSR?
Sony’s US PS5 Pro page currently lists these titles under “Supported titles with Enhanced PSSR”:
- Resident Evil Requiem
- SILENT HILL f
- SILENT HILL 2
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Alan Wake 2
- Control
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Nioh 3
- Rise of the Ronin

Sony’s supported-title list can change. Check the current PS5 Pro page to see whether a particular game is listed. Sony also says more than 100 PS5 titles are enhanced for PS5 Pro overall; that figure is not a count of games specifically listed as supporting enhanced PSSR.
