Farmers & Fighters is the free, unofficial Stardew Valley–inspired tabletop RPG you are looking for. It is a hack of Lasers & Feelings by Maki Games, built around crops, gardens, animals and the countryside. Choose the table format
- Digital table: Keep the full PDF open on a shared screen or on the facilitator’s device. Each player can use a digital character sheet or a sheet of paper.
- Paper table: Print the print-friendly PDF, provide pencils, and leave spare paper for maps, crop plans, relationships and scene notes.
- Hybrid table: Print the pages players consult repeatedly while the facilitator keeps the full PDF open for reference.

- Track the shared fiction. Mark crop ideas, relationships, places, promises and unresolved problems on spare paper. These notes make the next scene easy to frame and keep the farm’s history consistent.
- End with a clear next step. Before stopping, note which problem, relationship or project the group wants to revisit. You can then reopen the PDF and begin the next session at that decision.
Simple opening prompts
These are facilitator prompts, not additional rules: “The first planting day is tomorrow; what is preventing the work?” “A neighbor arrives with an animal that cannot stay on their land; who helps?” “The village is preparing a seasonal celebration, but one essential job is unfinished.” Each prompt gives players a place, a need and a reason to interact while leaving the solution to the group and the game’s resolution rules.

Printing and table setup
Use the print-friendly PDF when the group wants paper at the table. Print a test page first so you can check margins, scale and legibility on your printer. If the test looks correct, print the remaining pages single-sided or double-sided according to how you want to annotate them. Keep one unmarked copy for reference and write notes on a separate sheet when you do not want to obscure the rules.

The six-sided die is a sensible accessory recommendation here because the creator names it as a required material; that statement does not establish a die requirement for Farmers & Fighters.

The pages are difficult to read on screen
Use the full 4.6 MB file, increase the PDF reader’s zoom and rotate a phone or tablet to landscape orientation. The print-friendly file is intended for paper and may be less comfortable for sustained screen reading.
