To get the Vasya Run demo, search Steam for Vasya Run Demo, confirm that the listing is app 5368000, sign in, select the demo’s install control, choose a library drive, and launch it from your Steam Library when the download finishes. The demo is listed as free, single-player software for Windows. Its store availability can vary while release records are being updated, so the live demo page and its current install button are the final authority.
Find the correct Steam listing
Vasya Run has two related Steam entries. The full game uses app ID 2709420; the downloadable demo is a separate app, Vasya Run Demo, with app ID 5368000. Searching by the exact demo name is the simplest route. If Steam shows the parent game first, open the Vasya Run store hub and look for its separate demo entry.
Checking the app ID is useful when search results are confusing. A result identified as 5368000 is the demo you want. The parent page can display a “Coming soon” label and the message “This game is not yet available on Steam.” That message applies to the full game page, not necessarily to the separate demo listing, so do not use the parent page alone to decide whether the demo can be installed.

Availability information has not been completely consistent across Steam-related records. SteamDB records a store release entry dated 17 October 2026 and also lists a Steam release date of 31 October 2026 at 07:00 UTC. Those fields do not establish that every account or region can install the demo at the same moment.

Use this check immediately before downloading:
- Open the live Steam store page for Vasya Run Demo.
- Confirm that the page identifies the demo rather than only the parent product.
- Look for an active Install or Download control.
- If the button is missing, search again later and check the demo entry from the Vasya Run hub.
The active control on the live listing is more useful than a cached release date, a search snippet, or the parent game’s “Coming soon” status. If the demo is not released for your account or region yet, Steam may show the page without an install option.

The size figures are SteamDB records from 2026, not a promise that every future build will have identical files. Keep additional free space available for temporary download and unpacking activity, updates, or shader data. If Steam reports insufficient space, move the installation to another Steam library drive rather than deleting unrelated game files.

Download and install the demo in Steam
- Install or open Steam. Start the Steam desktop client and sign in to the account that will play the demo. The browser store page alone does not launch a local Windows installation.
- Search the Store. Enter Vasya Run Demo in Steam’s Store search. Prefer the result that names the demo and, when available in the page details, shows app ID 5368000.
- Use the hub if necessary. If the search emphasizes Vasya Run, open the parent game’s store hub and select the separately listed demo. Verify that you have moved to the demo page before installing.
- Start the installation. Select the demo’s Install or Download button. Steam may first add the free demo to your account and then open an installation dialog.
- Choose a library drive. Pick the Steam library with enough available space. If you have more than one library, use the drive with the largest reliable free capacity rather than the drive containing Windows by default.
- Confirm the download. Accept Steam’s installation dialog. The client will show progress in the Downloads view; leave Steam running until the transfer and installation stages finish.
- Wait for completion. A completed transfer is not always the same as a completed installation. Wait until Steam reports that the demo is ready to play and no installation task remains in the queue.
- Open your Library. Select Library, search your game list for Vasya Run Demo, and open its library page.
- Launch it. Click Play. Steam should invoke the installed demo and manage the launch path automatically.
Start the first play session
On first launch, allow the game a moment to create or prepare its local files. If Windows displays a security or firewall prompt, read the prompt carefully and allow only the access required for a game you trust. Keep Steam open while launching so that the client can validate ownership of the free demo and track the installation.

Steam describes a combination of third-person parkour and stealth, with portals and infiltration used as story mechanics. That description explains why movement and avoiding detection are central to the demo; it does not imply that every feature of the eventual full game is included.

Use a controller or keyboard and mouse
The developer recommends playing with a controller. Steam’s parent listing names Xbox controller support, while SteamDB classifies the demo’s controller support as partial. In practical terms, a controller is a supported and recommended way to play, but the available records do not establish that every menu, action, or third-party controller has identical coverage.

For an Xbox controller, connect it to Windows before pressing Play. If the game does not respond, open Steam’s controller settings and verify that the device appears there. Steam Input recognition can vary with connection method and configuration; reconnecting the device and restarting the game are sensible first checks. A controller is not stated to be mandatory, so keyboard and mouse remain a reasonable fallback if your device is not recognized.

Troubleshoot the most common installation problems
The demo does not appear in Store search
- Search for the exact phrase Vasya Run Demo, not only Vasya Run.
- Open the parent game’s hub and look for a separate demo entry.
- Confirm that the result is app 5368000 rather than the parent app 2709420.
- Refresh Steam or sign out and back in if the client is showing an old search result.
- Check the live page later if no demo page has an install control; conflicting release timing records mean the listing may not yet be active for your region.
The page exists but there is no Install button
This normally means the demo is not currently installable for the account or region, or that you are viewing the parent product. Recheck the title and app identity, then compare the page with the demo entry reached through the hub. Do not treat the parent page’s “This game is not yet available on Steam” message as proof that the demo itself is unavailable.

Steam says there is not enough disk space
Review the free space on the selected library drive and choose another library in the installation dialog if necessary. The listed installed footprint is about 11.37 GiB, and Steam also needs room to download and unpack files. Removing a partially downloaded demo and starting again can help when a failed transfer has left temporary data, but first make sure the drive has adequate headroom.

The download is stalled or repeatedly fails
- Open Steam’s Downloads view and confirm that the demo is the active task rather than paused behind another update.
- Pause and resume the download once.
- Check that your Windows connection is stable and that security software is not blocking Steam.
- Restart Steam, then resume the queued installation.
- If the issue continues, cancel the task, return to the demo page, and start a fresh installation on a library drive with more free space.
These steps address the Steam client and local installation process; they do not change the demo’s regional release status. If the install button disappears after a restart, return to the availability check instead of repeatedly clearing local files.
Play is unavailable after the download
Look at the Library page rather than the Store page. Steam must finish both downloading and installing before the Play button becomes available. If the library still shows an installation task, let it finish. If the entry is missing, use the Library search field and verify that you installed the demo, not only the parent game’s store page.
The game launches but the controller does not work
- Connect the controller before launching Vasya Run Demo.
- In Steam’s controller settings, confirm that Windows and Steam see the device.
- Restart the demo after changing the controller connection or Steam Input configuration.
- Try the controller’s primary movement, camera, menu, and action inputs in the opening area.
- If support remains incomplete, use keyboard and mouse or consult the game’s own control settings.
Because support is recorded as partial for the demo, a controller that works in Steam menus may not provide every possible in-game function.
Understand what is and is not confirmed
The available listing information confirms a free Windows demo, single-player play, English interface, full audio, subtitles, and the approximate storage figures shown above. It does not provide published performance benchmarks, minimum or recommended PC specifications, review scores, or a complete keyboard-and-mouse control map. You should therefore avoid assuming a particular frame rate, graphics preset, or hardware requirement from the demo’s file size alone.
The parent product is still labeled “Coming soon” on its Steam page. Installing the demo does not mean that the full Vasya Run game has released, and the parent page’s status should not be used as a launch date for the demo. Likewise, the SteamDB dates are useful context but cannot override the install control currently shown to your account.
