Use Razer Synapse to remap Tartarus V2 Pro keys, set up application-specific profiles, and create and assign macros. These steps are for the Razer Tartarus V2 Pro (model RZ07-0552); Razer recommends installing the latest Synapse version before customizing it.
Before you start: select the Tartarus V2 Pro in Synapse
Confirm the device is the Tartarus V2 Pro, model RZ07-0552, then open Razer Synapse and select the keypad from the Dashboard. Razer’s Tartarus V2 Pro product page says to make sure the latest version of Synapse is installed before customizing keys. Razer’s model-specific support page provides setup resources for this device.
Razer lists up to 31 programmable controls for the keypad. That is the manufacturer’s stated specification, not an independent test result.
How to change a key binding
- In Synapse, select the Tartarus V2 Pro and open Customize.
- Click the key you want to change in the on-screen keypad image.
- Choose the function to assign, such as a keyboard key or shortcut, and apply the selection. Razer says changes for this model save automatically.
This model-specific workflow is described in Razer’s product FAQ. General Synapse remapping screens may use different labels or require an explicit save, depending on the software version. Some controls, including Windows and FN in Razer’s general macro-assignment guidance, are not eligible for reassignment through that flow; do not assume every key can be changed.

How to create an application-specific profile
An application profile associates a Synapse configuration with a program. Within a profile, you can use a keymap suited to that program; a profile and a keymap are related, but they are not the same thing. The following is Razer’s general Synapse profile workflow, not a Tartarus V2 Pro-only screen guide. Names and placement may vary by version.
- Open the Profile dropdown in Synapse.
- Open the ellipsis beside Application Profiles, then choose Add Profile.
- Choose an empty or default profile, associate it with the target game or application, and give the profile a name.
- Select the profile and configure the keypad’s bindings or keymap for that application.
Razer advertises 24 configurable keymaps across 3 profiles for this product. The figure is Razer’s 2026 product-page claim, not an independently verified capacity test. The product page also describes switching profiles and assigning a custom toggle; use the controls shown in your current Synapse interface rather than relying on an assumed button sequence.

How to create and assign a macro
Razer defines a macro as “an automated set of instructions (multiple keystrokes or mouse clicks) that can be performed using a simple action such as a single keystroke.” A direct key binding is suited to a single key or shortcut; a macro is useful when you want one eligible control to trigger a sequence.
Create the macro
- In Synapse, open MACRO and select New Macro.
- Rename the macro so you can identify it when assigning it.
- Record or otherwise configure the desired sequence using the options available in your Synapse version.
Assign it to a keypad key
- Open the Dashboard and select the Tartarus V2 Pro.
- Choose a programmable key in the keypad image.
- Select MACRO, choose the macro you created, and select the playback option that fits your intended use.
- Save the assignment.
Razer’s current macro creation and assignment instructions are general Synapse guidance rather than a model-specific tutorial. Its assignment article notes that some keys, including Windows and FN, cannot be remapped or assigned a macro through this workflow.

Switching profiles and using older Synapse software
Use the profile controls in Synapse to move between configurations. Razer says the Tartarus V2 Pro supports a custom toggle assignment for switching, but the exact control or sequence should be confirmed in the interface for your installed version.
If you still use Synapse 2.0, Razer says its cloud-related features ended on October 28, 2025. Existing local profiles and macros remain, and settings can be exported manually. Razer’s legacy support page does not establish a current detailed export procedure here, so consult its instructions before changing or migrating local settings.

Troubleshooting a missing option
- The keypad is not listed: Check that Synapse is up to date and that the selected device is the Tartarus V2 Pro (RZ07-0552). Use the model-specific support page for setup resources.
- A key cannot be selected or assigned: Try another programmable control; system or function keys may be reserved in the general assignment workflow.
- Profile options look different: The application-profile steps are general Synapse guidance, and labels can vary across versions. Look for the Profile dropdown and Application Profiles controls.
- A macro does not appear for assignment: Confirm it was created and named in the MACRO section, then reopen the key assignment and select MACRO.
