There is currently no documented Custom Nightmare, Nightmare, horror-map editor, or user-upload workflow in Play Together. HAEGIN’s current guide and the official store descriptions document social play, Home Parties, Friends tools, PlayTV creator videos, and Game Party—but no feature for authoring or publishing a custom nightmare. You can still stage a live horror-themed role-play with friends in a Home Party, while PlayTV lets you watch creator-made clips rather than upload your own scenario.
Is there a Custom Nightmare mode in Play Together?
Not in the current official documentation. HAEGIN’s guide describes Play Together as a social game in which players interact in the village and enjoy different content. Its documented systems include Friends, Follow, Summon, PlayTV, and Game Party. The official store descriptions mention Home Parties, customization, minigames, fishing, conversation, and role-play. None names a Custom Nightmare, Nightmare, horror-map creator, scenario editor, or publishing screen.
That means there is no verified sequence such as “open the Nightmare editor, place enemies, save a map, and publish it.” A video or post showing those labels may be referring to a limited Halloween event, a regional translation, another game, a role-play idea rather than a built-in mode, or a client version that is not covered by the current public guide. Do not enter account details or install unofficial files to unlock a menu that the game itself does not show.
Feature names and availability can change by region and client version. If you saw the phrase in an announcement, screenshot, or event banner, preserve the exact wording and check the in-game Help & Support area and HAEGIN’s official regional community channels. Those are the appropriate places to verify a time-limited feature before following a tutorial.
What you can share instead
Play Together supports several kinds of social sharing, but they are not interchangeable. A Home Party is live play controlled by the host and invited friends. Friends tools help you bring specific people together. PlayTV is a discovery area for viewing creator-made content. Game Party is a structured minigame tournament. None of these systems turns a player-built horror map into a downloadable level.

How to stage a horror-themed session with a Home Party
A Home Party is the closest documented way to “make” a nightmare with friends. It does not create a reusable map or publish an experience; the host and guests perform the scenario live using the social game’s existing spaces and activities.
- Go to your home in Play Together. The store listing identifies homes as places where players can invite friends for fishing, games, conversation, and role-play.
- Invite the friends who will participate. Use the Home Party invitation controls shown by your current client. The exact button label can vary with the interface version, so follow the on-screen control rather than a third-party menu guide.
- Agree on the scenario before starting. For example, one player can act as the person searching the house while others role-play guides, witnesses, or characters who have gone missing. This is a social agreement, not a saved game object.
- Use the activities and customization already available to your account. Play Together supports avatar customization, conversation, games, fishing, and role-play. Arrange the sequence yourself—for example, a meeting, a search, a chase through available areas, and a final minigame—without claiming that the game has created a new level.
- End the session or repeat it manually. Because the scenario is not documented as an authored asset, guests should expect to recreate the setup each time rather than select it from a published library.
Keep the invitation limited to people you know if the scenario involves private conversation or screenshots. Home Party gives you tighter audience control than a creator-discovery feed, but it remains live social play rather than an upload service.
Use Friends, Summon, and Follow to assemble the group
If friends are in different places, the official guide provides two direct social controls. They help players meet; they do not create a nightmare scene.
Summon a friend
- Open Phone.
- Select Friends.
- Select Summon.
- Choose the friend and confirm using the control displayed by your client.
Use Summon when you want a particular friend brought to your current session. The guide documents the path, but it does not describe Summon as a map, event, or content-publishing tool.

Follow a friend
- Open Phone.
- Select Friends.
- Select Follow.
- Choose the friend you want to join or remain with.
Follow is useful when the group is moving between activities. It does not save a route, build a level, or make your session visible as a PlayTV upload.
What PlayTV does—and does not do
HAEGIN’s guide describes PlayTV as the place to view “Play Together content made by content creators from all around the world.” The documented route is:

- Select Play TV.
- Touch the clip you want to watch.
PlayTV is therefore a viewing and discovery area in the documented materials. It is not identified as a creator studio, level editor, file uploader, or submission queue for custom nightmares. If you want to share a horror idea, you can perform it in a Home Party and discuss it with friends, but you should not promise that the result will appear in PlayTV unless an official in-game creator tool explicitly appears in your version.
The distinction matters: Home Party content is live and audience-controlled by invitations, whereas PlayTV content is presented as creator-made clips for viewers to discover. A clip about a “nightmare” may show role-play or editing outside the game; its presence on a social channel does not prove that Play Together has a built-in nightmare-authoring feature.

Could Game Party be the feature you saw?
Game Party is the documented competitive mode most likely to be confused with a custom challenge. The guide says it is a minigame tournament for up to 30 players, with several minigame types. You can enter it from either path:
- Plaza > Game Center > Game Party
- Phone > Play Game > Game Party
Game Party supplies the rules and minigames. It does not provide a player-authored map, horror scenario, custom objective, or publishing workflow in the documented guide. Choose it when you want a larger, structured competition; choose a Home Party when you want to improvise a story with invited friends.

How to decide which sharing method fits your idea
- You want a private horror role-play: Use a Home Party and invite the intended participants. Build the story socially, using the activities and spaces your client already provides.
- You need to bring one friend to the session: Use Phone > Friends > Summon.
- You want to join a friend’s current activity: Use Phone > Friends > Follow.
- You want to watch published creator material: Open Device > Play TV and select a clip.
- You want a large rules-based contest: Enter Game Party through the Plaza or Phone path. It supports up to 30 players according to the official guide.
None of these choices creates a permanent custom nightmare asset. They answer different needs: live invitation, friend coordination, viewing, or tournament play.
What to check if a tutorial claims the menu exists
Before following a “Custom Nightmare” walkthrough, verify the claim against your own client:

- Record the exact label. “Nightmare,” “Haunted,” and a translated event name are not automatically the same feature.
- Check your region and platform. Event menus can be limited by country, operating system, account, or event dates.
- Update through the official app store. Do not install modified clients or files supplied by a video description.
- Search the in-game Help & Support section. Look for an article that names the feature and gives an official path.
- Compare the menu with the current documented paths. The official guide currently identifies Friends, Summon, Follow, PlayTV, and Game Party, but not Custom Nightmare.
- Ask for a screenshot showing the complete interface. A thumbnail, edited video, or title alone cannot establish that the feature is available in Play Together.
If support confirms a temporary event, follow the event’s own rules and dates. If support does not recognize the name, treat the tutorial as a role-play concept or misinformation rather than a missing setting you must unlock.

Looking for an editor in PlayTV
Symptom: You open Device > Play TV and find clips but no “Create,” “Upload,” or “New Nightmare” button.
Fix: That behavior matches the documented purpose of PlayTV: viewing creator-made content. Use a Home Party for a live, self-directed scenario instead.

Expecting Summon or Follow to publish content
Symptom: You can locate Summon or Follow but cannot save a map or share a link.
Fix: These are Friends tools for meeting and moving with players. They are not authoring controls.
Confusing a creator video with a built-in game mode
Symptom: A clip shows a frightening story and claims it is a custom nightmare.
Fix: Check whether the clip is simply role-play, editing, or footage from a temporary event. The official materials do not establish a general nightmare editor.

Using an old or regional guide
Symptom: Menu labels in a tutorial do not match your game.
Fix: Confirm the publication date, language, region, platform, and client version. Then verify the feature through in-game Help & Support or official regional channels.
What is established about Play Together
Play Together is presented as a social world where players create avatars, make friends, explore, and participate in activities. Its store descriptions highlight Home Parties, conversation, role-play, games, fishing, and customization. The official guide adds Friends coordination, creator-content viewing through PlayTV, and Game Party tournaments. Those documented systems are enough to organize a live, horror-themed gathering, but they do not establish a player-authored nightmare scenario that can be saved and uploaded.
Because the feature name may refer to a future update or a limited regional event, the most reliable evidence is the menu and Help & Support content shown by your own account at the time you play. Until an official source names the editor and publishing steps, there is no verified Custom Nightmare workflow to follow.
