Start with 8–12 official Grand Theft Auto VI tracks, choose two or three compatible genre lanes, arrange the songs into a driving arc, and use Spotify recommendations or AI Playlist only to fill gaps. Use the official GTA VI music as your anchor
Rockstar’s official music page says Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album contains 34 original tracks intended to capture the energy of Vice City and Leonida. The page also documents vinyl and CD editions; availability and editions can change, so check the page before buying a physical copy: Rockstar Games’ GTA VI music page.
The official Spotify playlist currently labels several songs as being from GTAVI: The Album. These are useful starting anchors:

Create the playlist in Spotify
On a phone or tablet
- Open Spotify and tap Create.
- Choose Playlist.

- Use Add songs to search for your GTA VI anchors and add them.
- Open each track’s context menu when you want to add another song from search or a recommendation.

On desktop
- Open Your Library.

These are programming choices, not rigid genre rules. A song can fit because of its bass, vocal attitude, tempo, or atmosphere even when its category looks different on paper. If a track feels like it belongs to another radio station, remove it rather than forcing a transition.

Driving playlists work better when the order has a narrative. Spotify lets you manually reorder tracks, so treat the sequence as part of the composition.

1. Open with an immediate signal
Place a recognizable, confident track first. The opening should establish your chosen setting within seconds, because listeners often decide whether a driving mix works during the first song. An official GTA VI anchor is usually a stronger opener than an obscure discovery.
2. Accelerate through the first section
Use the next few tracks to increase movement. For a coastal playlist, move from bright pop or Latin energy into dance; for a night playlist, move from synth-pop into more atmospheric electronic production. Avoid placing the three most intense songs back-to-back at the start.
3. Create a peak

After the peak, insert a slower or more spacious track. This reset gives a long playlist breathing room and makes the final section feel purposeful. In a neon-night mix, this is the point for an atmospheric or slower R&B selection.
5. Finish with a memorable closer
Choose a song that leaves a clear final impression instead of ending on a random recommendation. A bright classic-rock or pop closer can work for a daytime route; a moody synth or controlled rap track can close a night drive. The best final track does not have to be the loudest.
Compare the three Spotify workflows
There are three practical ways to assemble this kind of mix. Manual curation gives you the most control: you select every anchor, test every transition, and decide exactly where the peak occurs. Recommended Songs is faster for finding adjacent tracks because Spotify uses the existing songs and playlist title as signals. AI Playlist is the quickest way to generate a large pool from a natural-language brief, but it is the least predictable and requires the most pruning.

A strong workflow combines them rather than choosing only one: establish the identity manually, use recommendations for neighboring songs, and use AI only when you need more candidates in a clearly described lane.
Expand with Spotify Recommended Songs
Spotify places Recommended Songs at the bottom of a playlist. Spotify says the suggestions use the songs already in the playlist and its title, which is why “Vice City Heat Run” gives the system more direction than “My Mix.”

- Scroll to the Recommended Songs section.
- Preview each suggestion instead of adding the entire block.
- Keep recommendations that match your selected lane, setting, and energy.
- Delete near-duplicates, songs with a sharp mood change, and tracks that make the playlist sound like a different station.

Use AI Playlist as a draft, not a finished mix
Spotify’s AI Playlist beta allows eligible users to enter a natural-language prompt and save the resulting selection. Availability depends on account eligibility and region, so the feature may not appear for everyone. If it is available, use a prompt that specifies setting, genres, and energy rather than naming only the game.

For a collectible rather than a streaming mix, Rockstar’s music page lists Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album vinyl and CD pre-order options. Those formats are separate from creating a Spotify playlist. Common problems and fixes
The list sounds like several unrelated playlists
Reduce the number of genre lanes to two or three. Keep the official anchors that best represent your setting, remove the outliers, and rebuild transitions around the remaining songs.
Spotify recommendations are too generic
Rename the playlist with a specific place and mood, then add a few stronger anchors before checking Recommended Songs again. The recommendation system uses both the title and existing tracks, so a descriptive brief gives it more useful context.
AI Playlist produced an inconsistent result
Tighten the prompt by naming the route, energy curve, and allowed genres. Save only the tracks that fit, then sequence them manually. Treat the generated selection as raw material rather than a final order.
The playlist loses energy halfway through
Move your strongest compatible tracks into the middle, remove a cluster of low-intensity songs, and retain only one reset before the closing run. A reset should create contrast, not become a second slow playlist.
The playlist is too intense for everyday trips
Create the 45–60 minute commute cut and reserve the hardest rap, metal, or dance selections for the road-trip or pursuit version. Separate versions are easier to maintain than repeatedly reshuffling one list.
