You can create a 24/7 temple courtyard rain ambience stream by securing the temple’s permission, using footage and audio you made or have documented rights to stream, and running a tested live encoder on a reliable connection. Plan for monitoring and recovery: no setup is guaranteed to stay live without interruption. Before publishing, check YouTube’s current live-stream requirements and copyright rules, and do not assume India’s religious-ceremony copyright exception covers a separately produced ambience broadcast.
Plan the stream around permission, rights and continuity
Treat this as a production project, not simply a video loop. You need approval for the location and equipment, rights to every visual and audio element, a live encoder, sufficient upload capacity and a way to detect and respond to disconnections.
- Get site-specific approval. Ask the authorized temple manager before filming or installing equipment. The rules for visitor access, camera placement and filming vary by site; there is no single permission route established for every temple in India.
- Protect worshippers’ privacy. Choose a stable viewpoint that does not obstruct worship or capture private moments. Agree on camera position and operating hours with the temple.
- Use footage and sound you created, or clear the rights. Keep records of who created each component, when it was recorded, and what permissions or licenses cover it.
- Design for interruptions. Test long-duration operation and arrange a way to check stream health and restart after a disconnection. Power, heat, weather protection and network reliability depend on the particular site and equipment.
Clear rights for the video and rain audio
The safest starting point is your own courtyard footage and your own rain recording, made with the temple’s permission. If you use material from someone else, get written permission that covers live streaming and, if you plan to keep a replay, the archived recording too.
Do not assume a rain sound is free to reuse because it sounds natural. Recordings can have their own copyright, and a soundtrack may contain multiple protected contributions. India’s official IP portal explains that copyright arises automatically when a work is created and includes sound recordings: IP India copyright information. India’s Copyright Act includes sound recordings and cinematograph films among protected works and defines communication to the public broadly to include making works available for public enjoyment by diffusion. The Copyright Office lists an exception for communication of a work or sound recording in the course of a bona fide religious ceremony. That exception is limited: do not presume that a separately produced, continuous ambience stream qualifies as a religious ceremony. Prepare the camera, encoder and internet connection
Choose a stable, unobtrusive view
Set the camera where it can remain safely in place without blocking worshippers or recording private activity. Confirm placement, access and operating conditions with temple management. Because no particular temple or equipment is specified, there is no universal camera position, weatherproofing plan or installation rule.

Use an encoder and test the real upload path
A live encoder is needed to send the camera’s audio and video to YouTube. The National Informatics Centre’s webcast guidance includes an audio-video setup and encoder, and specifies dedicated bandwidth of 2–4 Mbps per stream for its own webcast service. That is NIC service guidance—not a universal YouTube minimum or a bitrate recommendation for every camera and resolution. See NIC webcast guidance.
Set the encoder according to the camera, intended output and YouTube’s current live setup guidance. Size the internet connection for the selected stream bitrate plus headroom, then test from the actual location over the same upload path you will use live. A speed test alone does not establish that the connection will remain stable for a continuous broadcast.

Check channel access and publishing details
Confirm that live streaming is available on the channel and follow YouTube’s current official setup and account eligibility instructions before launch. Requirements can change, and eligibility may depend on the account. The sources here do not establish a guaranteed method for uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
Configure the loop and protect the archive
Prepare the video so the transition from its end back to its beginning is acceptable to watch and hear. Check for abrupt audio changes, black frames or an unintended pause. Run a test stream before announcing the broadcast, and have someone responsible for checking whether it remains live and responding when it does not.

If you keep a replay, ensure your permissions cover both the live transmission and the archive. YouTube notes that Content ID claims on archived live streams may be made after the stream has ended. Your rights records should therefore cover the saved version as well as the broadcast.
Understand YouTube copyright checks and monetization separately
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and may temporarily interrupt or terminate the broadcast if the content remains. A license does not necessarily prevent that interruption: YouTube says the content owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Review the current YouTube live-stream copyright guidance and arrange allowlisting with the rights holder where applicable.

Copyright enforcement and monetization eligibility are different questions. YouTube’s reused-content policy concerns republishing material without significant original contribution; having a license alone does not establish that a channel meets originality requirements. Check the current official YouTube channel monetization policies before relying on monetization.

- The stream is interrupted or replaced with a placeholder: YouTube may have detected third-party content. Check the channel’s live-stream notices and claims, confirm that your rights cover the material, and ask the owner to allowlist your channel through Content ID where needed.
- The connection drops or the broadcast stops: Check the upload connection at the stream location and review the encoder’s status. Test the actual bitrate and upload path again, and make sure someone can monitor and restart the stream. The available guidance does not establish a universal 24/7 uptime guarantee.
- The temple objects to the camera position or filming: Stop or reposition the equipment and resolve the issue directly with the authorized temple manager before resuming. Permission and visitor rules are site-specific.
- A replay receives a claim after the live ends: Review the archive’s rights separately from the live broadcast and confirm your license covers the saved recording. YouTube says claims on archived streams can arrive after completion.
- A licensed stream still triggers a Content ID interruption: Contact the relevant rights holder and request that the channel be allowlisted. A license and a Content ID allowlist are not necessarily the same platform-side step.
