Html2Pdf.app should not be assumed to convert a page that is visible only after you sign in. Its documentation describes URL conversion for publicly reachable pages and raw HTML input, but does not document importing your browser session, cookies, or a website login. For a page you are authorized to access, open it while signed in and use your browser’s Print command, then choose Save as PDF. Inspect the PDF preview before saving.
Why Html2Pdf.app may not work with a page behind login
Html2Pdf.app documents its converter as accepting a publicly reachable URL or raw HTML markup. Its API runs in headless Chromium, but the reviewed documentation does not describe transferring your existing browser session, importing cookies, or signing in interactively to a third-party website. A URL that works in your signed-in browser may therefore fail when supplied to the converter: the converter does not thereby inherit your login.
This is a limit in the documented instructions, not proof that no private integration exists. For the documented URL workflow, however, treat the page as needing to be publicly reachable. The homepage’s online converter is also described for public webpage URLs; that does not establish support for logged-in content. See the Html2Pdf.app documentation and homepage.
Save an authorized, logged-in page using your browser
For a page you can legitimately access, printing from the browser keeps the login in your existing browser session rather than asking a converter to receive your credentials. The exact menu labels differ by browser and operating system.

- Sign in to the website and open the specific page you want to save.
- Open the browser’s Print command, usually from its menu or with the platform’s print shortcut.
- In the print destination or printer selection, choose Save as PDF or the equivalent option.
- Review the preview. Check that the relevant text, images, and sections appear and that page breaks do not cut off important content.
- Save the file. If the preview is incomplete, try the website’s own export or print feature, if available, or adjust print settings such as scale and margins before saving again.
This is general browser workflow guidance; Html2Pdf.app’s documentation does not provide browser-specific steps. A site may also omit or rearrange content in its print view, so check the saved PDF rather than assuming it matches the page on screen.
When raw HTML or the Html2Pdf.app API is appropriate
If you own the page or its owner can provide the rendered HTML, Html2Pdf.app documents raw HTML as an input. That can be useful for converting content you are authorized to export, but it does not provide a way to extract a third-party page that is available only behind your login.
The documented API uses a POST request to https://api.html2pdf.app/v1/generate and requires an X-API-Key header. Its documentation says: “Your API key is private. Use it from your backend, server-side scripts, or trusted jobs.” Do not place the key in browser JavaScript, a public repository, or a client-side template. The API’s waitFor setting, documented from 0 to 10 seconds, and media values print or screen can affect rendering of public URLs or supplied HTML; neither setting authenticates to a website.

Rendering can vary with CSS media mode, available fonts and other resources, and JavaScript timing. Those are reasons to inspect the output, not ways to bypass a login. The API also documents userPassword and ownerPassword for protecting the generated PDF. They apply to the output file and do not unlock the source webpage. Html2Pdf.app describes its PDF encryption as 128-bit AES. Details and current parameter behavior are in the official documentation.

Privacy and credential safety
Do not send a personal website password or session cookie to an unverified converter to make a private page work. Keep the Html2Pdf.app API key on the server when using its API. Html2Pdf.app says generated PDFs are processed temporarily and not permanently stored on its servers, while selected request metadata and a supplied source URL may be retained in conversion logs. If the page contains sensitive material, review the service’s privacy policy and data-processing terms linked from its documentation before submitting it.
Troubleshooting conversion and print problems
The converter returns a login page or access-denied response
The URL may require a logged-in session that the documented converter workflow does not describe importing. Use browser Print → Save as PDF for a page you are authorized to access, or ask the page owner for an approved export or rendered HTML.

The PDF is missing images or late-loading content
For a public URL or supplied HTML, check whether the resources are reachable and whether JavaScript has finished loading. Html2Pdf.app documents waitFor for asynchronous resources and a choice between print and screen media; test the resulting PDF because fonts, resources, and page styles can change the output. These settings do not solve an authentication requirement.
The browser PDF has clipped or rearranged content
Use the print preview to identify the affected page, then adjust the available scale, margins, or page orientation settings. If the site offers its own PDF export or print layout, try that option. Save another copy and verify the result before relying on it.
You need a password on the PDF
That is a separate task from accessing the source page. Html2Pdf.app documents userPassword and ownerPassword as output-PDF security settings; they do not provide the credentials or session needed to open a private source page.
