Connect it to a Windows PC

What the status LED tells you
The manual gives one operational LED result: a solid status LED means the controller is ready to play. Use that as your first verification step on either platform.
- LED becomes solid: continue to the game. The controller has reached the documented ready state.
- LED does not become solid: the documented ready condition has not been reached. Reseat the cable and try another USB port before attempting game-specific troubleshooting.

2. Try another USB port
If the controller is still not detected, move the cable to another available USB port on the Xbox or PC. Recheck the LED after the port change. This is specifically recommended for a controller that is not detected.
