For the 2026 Nintendo Switch 2 release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the best value depends on what you want from the purchase. Nintendo Store pre-orders include three-dimensional Spiritual Stones replicas, while the first physical print has textured foil cover art while supplies last. However, Nintendo Wire reported Amazon and Walmart at $59.99 during its 2026 coverage—$10 below the $69.99 MSRP—so a discounted standard copy can be a better deal than a collectible bundle. Compare the delivered price, region, stock language, and your actual interest in displaying the bonus before ordering.
What Zelda pre-order bonuses are currently documented?
The current evidence concerns The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2. Bonuses are not one universal package: the Nintendo Store offer and the physical first-print feature are separate benefits, and retailer availability can vary by country.
| Offer | What you receive | Price information reported | Important condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Store pre-order | Three-dimensional replicas of the game’s three Spiritual Stones, described as PVC/acrylic pieces in a black display box | Nintendo Life listed the US Nintendo Store edition at $69.99 and the UK listing at £58.99 | Check the product page for your country; the bonus is tied to that store listing and its stock |
| Nintendo Store UK version with ocarina pin | Spiritual Stones set plus a small ocarina pin badge | Nintendo Life reported an additional £2.99 for this version | This is a paid bundle upgrade, not automatically part of every Spiritual Stones order |
| First physical print | Special textured foil cover art | No separate surcharge was reported | Available while supplies last, according to Nintendo Wire |
| Amazon or Walmart physical copy | The standard physical game; the first-print foil feature depends on remaining stock | Nintendo Wire and Tom’s Guide reported $59.99 in 2026 coverage, $10 below the $69.99 MSRP | The discount was retailer-specific and Tom’s Guide said it appeared in the cart; verify the final checkout total |
| Digital pre-order | Digital game and any digital bonus code associated with the listing | No separate digital price was established in the cited material; the $59.99 physical promotion was described as matching the digital price | Nintendo’s eShop billing, pre-load, cancellation, and code rules apply |
These offers should not be treated as interchangeable. A Nintendo Store order may provide the most substantial physical collectible, while a discounted retailer order may deliver the game for less. The foil cover is a packaging feature rather than a separate accessory, and it can disappear when the first print sells out.

Start with the real price, not the headline bonus
A bonus is only a good deal after you compare the amount you will actually pay. Use the delivered total for each eligible listing:

Real premium = (game price + shipping + tax + bundle surcharge) − cheapest equivalent copy.
“Cheapest equivalent copy” means the same format and region. Do not compare a UK Nintendo Store order with a US retailer listing, or a physical package with a digital license, without accounting for the differences.
Example: the $10 retailer discount
Nintendo Wire reported a $69.99 MSRP and $59.99 prices at Amazon and Walmart in 2026 coverage. Tom’s Guide independently reported the same $10 reduction and noted that the discount appeared in the cart. If shipping and tax do not erase the difference, the standard physical copy costs $10 less than MSRP before you assign any value to the foil cover. A Nintendo Store order at the $69.99 US price would therefore require you to value the Spiritual Stones at more than that price gap, plus any extra delivery cost, to be the better financial choice.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsExample: the UK pin-badge upgrade
Nintendo Life reported a UK Nintendo Store listing at £58.99 and an option with a small ocarina pin badge for £2.99 more. Treat the pin as a separate purchase decision. If you only want the Spiritual Stones, the upgraded bundle adds cost without increasing the part of the package you value. If you collect ocarina-themed items, the extra £2.99 may be reasonable, but it is still a paid add-on rather than a free pre-order reward.

Include costs that appear late in checkout
- Shipping can turn a nominally cheaper retailer into the more expensive option.
- Sales tax or VAT depends on the delivery country and may not appear until checkout.
- International orders can add currency-conversion charges, import fees, or delivery delays.
- A bundle surcharge should be counted separately from the base game price.
- Do not value a bonus at its eventual resale price; no authoritative resale-value study was established for these items.
Decide what the bonus is worth to you
There is no objective cash value published for the Spiritual Stones, foil cover, or similar retailer gifts. Their worth is personal utility: how much enjoyment, display value, and collecting satisfaction they provide compared with the price difference.
High-value case: you actively collect Zelda memorabilia
The Spiritual Stones are three-dimensional replicas rather than a paper insert. If you have a protected display area and specifically want replicas of the Kokiri Emerald, Goron Ruby, and Zora Sapphire, the Nintendo Store package may justify paying the normal MSRP. The black display box also makes the set easier to present than loose promotional pieces.
Medium-value case: you want a physical keepsake but not a full display set
The textured foil cover can add a distinctive finish to the game case without taking up much space. Because Nintendo Wire described it as a first-print feature available while supplies last, it may be a useful tie-breaker when two physical listings cost about the same. It is less compelling if you keep games in a drawer, buy replacement cases, or plan to play digitally.
Low-value case: you mainly want to play
If the game will be stored rather than displayed, a $59.99 physical promotion can be the rational choice. You receive the same core game while retaining the option to resell or lend a cartridge, subject to your region’s packaging and account rules. A collectible is not automatically a bargain merely because it is exclusive.

A simple personal scoring method
- Write down the extra amount required for the bonus after shipping and tax.
- Score your interest in the item from 0 (would discard it) to 5 (a centerpiece of your collection).
- Score practical use from 0 (no use) to 5 (you will display or handle it regularly).
- Score scarcity appeal from 0 to 5, recognizing that “while supplies last” describes availability, not investment value.
- Add the three scores. A high score can justify a modest premium; a low score favors the cheapest equivalent game.
This method keeps an emotional purchase honest: you are paying for enjoyment, not a promised return.
Check region, retailer, and stock before ordering
Pre-order terms are store- and country-specific. Nintendo Life’s cited listings show different currencies and prices for the United States and United Kingdom, and Nintendo’s historical offers in Germany used another structure entirely. A bonus shown on one country’s product page should not be assumed to ship internationally or transfer to another retailer.
Confirm the exact product page
- Look for a written description of the Spiritual Stones, foil cover, or other gift on the listing you are about to buy.
- Check whether the bonus is included automatically, selectable as a bundle, or limited to a particular edition.
- Read the stock wording. “While supplies last” means a qualifying order can lose the bonus after inventory is exhausted unless the retailer guarantees allocation.
- Save the order confirmation and, where possible, a screenshot of the bonus language and item number.
Do not infer a retailer bonus from past releases
For The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom in 2024, Nintendo Life reported that Best Buy offered an acrylic display stand and GameStop offered an exclusive fabric poster. That history demonstrates a pattern—retailer-specific gifts can exist—but it does not establish that either retailer has the same item for Ocarina of Time. Only the current listing should determine eligibility.

Understand paid bundles versus included gifts
Nintendo Germany’s 2023 Tears of the Kingdom example separated a basic pre-order package from paid upgrades. The reported bundles cost €74.99 with a notebook, €79.99 with a medal, or €84.99 with both, while the standard pre-orders included a collector coin and luggage tag. This is a useful warning: a product page can show an included bonus alongside larger bundles that cost more. Read the line items rather than assuming every pictured accessory is free.

Physical or digital: which pre-order path fits?
Physical advantages
- You can receive the first-print textured foil cover if that stock remains.
- A physical cartridge can be lent, displayed, or sold according to local rules.
- Retailer discounts can reduce the price below the $69.99 MSRP; the 2026 $59.99 reports are the clearest documented example.
- You are less dependent on console storage for the main game, although updates may still require storage.
Digital advantages
- Nintendo eShop pre-orders can pre-load the game so it is ready for release.
- Nintendo says the full amount is charged no sooner than seven days before release, rather than immediately when the pre-order is placed.
- Nintendo allows cancellation before payment is processed.
- Any bonus download code is not available until payment is processed and the game is pre-loaded, no sooner than seven days before release.
Digital purchasing trades packaging and resale flexibility for convenience. It also does not provide a physical foil cover or a physical Spiritual Stones set unless the listing explicitly includes a separate shipment, which the documented eShop rules do not establish.
A step-by-step way to compare listings
- Choose your format. Decide whether you need a cartridge, want an immediate digital pre-load, or are open to either. This prevents a low physical price from being compared with a digital-only requirement.
- List every eligible seller in your region. Check the Nintendo Store, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop pages available to your delivery address. Retailer names alone do not establish a bonus; the current product description does.
- Record the base price and edition. Note whether the listing is standard, includes the Spiritual Stones, adds the UK ocarina pin, or is another bundle.
- Apply the stock condition. Mark “while supplies last” beside the foil-cover claim and any other limited item. If the page does not promise allocation, treat the bonus as uncertain.
- Calculate checkout totals. Add shipping, tax or VAT, currency fees, and bundle surcharges. Use the price shown after entering your delivery address.
- Compare the same country and format. Keep US dollar, UK pound, and German euro offers in separate comparisons unless you are deliberately calculating international delivery.
- Score personal value. Use your display space, collecting priorities, and willingness to pay—not an assumed resale price.
- Save evidence. Keep the order number, bonus wording, and promised edition details until the game and any accessory arrive.
- Recheck before release. Prices and inventory can change. Nintendo eShop orders also have a payment window no sooner than seven days before release, so cancellation remains possible only before processing under Nintendo’s stated policy.
How accessories affect the budget
Accessories can make a pre-order decision feel cheaper or more expensive by changing the total Zelda launch budget. Nintendo Wire reported the following 2026 prices: Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo at $24.99 each, a Zelda 40th Anniversary carrying case and screen protector at $39.99, and a themed Pro Controller at $99.99. The Nintendo Switch 2 console itself was reported at $519.99. These are separate purchases, not evidence that any retailer includes them with the game.
| Item | Reported price | How to treat it in the pre-order decision |
|---|---|---|
| Young Link amiibo | $24.99 | Optional collectible; do not add it to the game’s value unless you planned to buy it |
| Young Zelda amiibo | $24.99 | Optional collectible; compare its cost separately |
| Zelda 40th Anniversary carrying case and screen protector | $39.99 | Protective accessory with practical use, unlike a purely decorative bonus |
| Themed Pro Controller | $99.99 | Large discretionary expense; it should not justify paying more for a game bundle |
| Nintendo Switch 2 console | $519.99 | Hardware purchase, not part of the game pre-order value calculation |
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Mistake: assuming every physical copy has the foil cover
The foil art is tied to the first physical print and is available while supplies last. A later shipment may contain the standard cover even if the game title and price are unchanged. Look for current first-print language and inspect the package on arrival.
Mistake: treating a paid upgrade as a free bonus
The UK ocarina pin option adds £2.99 in Nintendo Life’s cited listing. Separate the base Spiritual Stones offer from that surcharge when calculating value.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Mistake: using another country’s price as a guarantee
$69.99, $59.99, £58.99, and euro bundle prices are not interchangeable. Taxes, shipping, currency, and eligibility differ. Order from a store that explicitly serves your address and states the bonus in your currency or local terms.
Mistake: relying on a search snippet or product photograph
Photographs can show accessories from a larger bundle, while text may limit the offer to a particular edition. Read the full item description and checkout line items. If the bonus disappears from the final order summary, stop before payment.
Mistake: expecting a bonus code immediately
Nintendo Support states that bonus download codes become available only after payment is processed and the game is pre-loaded, no sooner than seven days before release. A code missing at the time of the original eShop order is therefore not, by itself, evidence of a failed purchase.

No authoritative resale study establishes a future price for the Spiritual Stones, foil packaging, pins, stands, or posters. Buy because you want the item. Any later resale is uncertain and may be reduced by condition, shipping, platform fees, and regional demand.
Which option is best for different buyers?
Choose the Nintendo Store Spiritual Stones set if:
- You specifically want physical Ocarina of Time memorabilia.
- The set is listed for delivery in your country and remains in stock.
- Your delivered total is close enough to the cheapest physical copy that the display value justifies the difference.
- You accept that the item’s future resale price is unknown.
Choose a discounted physical retailer if:
- You mainly want to play and the $59.99 promotion is available at checkout.
- You prefer a cartridge or physical case but do not need the Spiritual Stones.
- The listing still identifies first-print stock and that feature matters to you.
Choose digital if:
- Pre-loading and avoiding a delivery are more important than a case or collectible.
- You want Nintendo’s stated cancellation window before payment processing.
- You understand that the payment and bonus-code timing occurs no sooner than seven days before release.
Wait or compare again if:
- The bonus description is missing from the listing or order summary.
- Shipping, tax, or an international fee removes the apparent discount.
- You would not display or use the collectible and another eligible copy costs less.
- You are considering the purchase solely because a seller suggests future scarcity or profit without evidence.
Bottom line: are Zelda pre-order bonuses worth it?
They are worth it when the item matches your interests and the total premium is clear. For the documented 2026 Ocarina of Time release, the Nintendo Store Spiritual Stones set is the strongest choice for a Zelda collector who wants a physical display piece. The first-print textured foil cover is a useful tie-breaker when physical prices are similar, but its “while supplies last” condition makes it unreliable as the only reason to order. For a player focused on price, the $59.99 Amazon and Walmart reports are more compelling than paying MSRP for a bonus you will not use. Digital is best for convenience and pre-loading, with Nintendo’s delayed billing and code rules understood in advance.
Make the decision from the listing available to your country, the final delivered total, and the enjoyment you expect to get from the item—not from an assumed universal bonus or resale return.
