Compare Nimbus Projects on an audited, consolidated FY2025–26 basis against Indian companies with a similar development or contracting model, scale, geography, project stage and capital structure. Do not rank it from a standalone number or from a stock-screener list. Nimbus combines residential-project vehicles with financial-services, real-estate, hospitality, associate and partnership entities, so the comparison perimeter can change the result as much as the headline revenue.

The correct comparison point

Nimbus Projects Limited’s latest annual comparison point is the financial year ended March 31, 2026 (FY2025–26). Use its audited consolidated statements as the anchor, then obtain each peer’s consolidated statements for the same financial year or an explicitly matched period. Keep standalone figures in a separate diagnostic section rather than blending them into a peer ranking.

On the consolidated basis, Nimbus expanded revenue but moved from profit to a substantial loss. That combination requires an income-statement bridge: identify which subsidiaries, partnerships and associates contributed revenue; separate project operations from finance costs and investment accounting; and test whether cash generation supports the reported earnings. A larger consolidated top line is not, by itself, evidence of stronger construction or real-estate execution.

Nimbus Projects’ reported results

The following figures are in ₹ lakh and come from Nimbus Projects’ directors’ report and annual report for the relevant year.

Measure FY2024–25 FY2025–26 How to use it
Standalone revenue from operations 151.12 146.73 Shows the listed parent company only; not the operating scale of the consolidated group.
Standalone profit/(loss) (1,274.92) (1,212.94) Parent-level loss; do not compare with a peer’s group profit.
Consolidated revenue from operations 17,829.71 22,875.62 Primary top-line figure for a group-to-group comparison.
Consolidated profit/(loss) 6,367.50 profit (8,798.86) loss Reported group earnings after the effects of consolidation and non-operating items.
Approximate consolidated revenue growth — 28.30% year over year Calculated as the change in consolidated revenue divided by FY2024–25 consolidated revenue.
Approximate consolidated net margin 35.72% (38.47%) Profit or loss divided by consolidated revenue; investigate mix and one-off effects before interpreting quality.

Nimbus’s FY2024–25 annual report stated: “The Company has recorded a consolidated revenue from operations of Rs. 17829.71 Lakh in the current financial year as compared to revenue of Rs. 717.75 Lakh in the last financial year.” That statement belongs to the financial year ended March 31, 2025. The subsequent FY2025–26 audited result reported higher consolidated revenue but a consolidated loss, so the two years should not be described as a simple uninterrupted improvement.

A market-data presentation lists FY2026 revenue of ₹2.29 billion and 28.30% annual growth, with the data attributed to S&P Global Market Intelligence. Treat that as a secondary presentation of the same consolidated revenue series. The audited financial statements remain the primary source for the article’s figures, accounting definitions and period labels.

Why standalone and consolidated numbers diverge

Standalone statements cover Nimbus Projects Limited itself. Consolidated statements combine controlled subsidiaries and other entities according to the applicable accounting rules, eliminating intra-group transactions where required. For Nimbus, the difference is unusually large: parent-level revenue is only about ₹147 lakh in FY2025–26, while consolidated revenue is ₹22,875.62 lakh. That gap means a standalone peer comparison would answer a different question from a group comparison.

Before collecting peer data, write the scope in the spreadsheet header: “Consolidated, year ended March 31, 2026, ₹ lakh.” Add a second header for any standalone diagnostic. Never place a standalone revenue in a consolidated growth-rate column, and do not use a parent-company loss to explain a group’s project performance without tracing dividends, inter-company charges and investments.

What is inside Nimbus’s consolidated group

The FY2024–25 annual report identifies entities with different economics. Their inclusion affects revenue, assets, debt, finance costs, cash flow and valuation ratios.

  • N.N. Financial Services Private Limited: a material subsidiary engaged in financial activities.
  • Pelican Realty Ventures Private Limited: a subsidiary engaged in real-estate activities.
  • IITL-Nimbus, The Express Park View: a partnership firm consolidated like a subsidiary.
  • IITL-Nimbus, The Palm Village: a partnership firm consolidated like a subsidiary.
  • Capital Infraprojects Private Limited: an associate engaged in real estate.
  • Brothers Trading Private Limited: an associate and Reserve Bank of India-registered NBFC engaged in loans and investments.
  • Nimbus (India) Limited: an associate and Reserve Bank of India-registered NBFC engaged in loans and investments.
  • World Resorts Limited: an associate engaged in hospitality.

Nimbus reported that The Express Park View and The Palm Village were consolidated like subsidiaries because it held 95% of partners’ capital contribution. That 95% interest is not a minor footnote: a peer whose joint ventures are equity-accounted, proportionately consolidated or excluded from revenue can show very different margins and leverage even when the underlying projects are similar.

For each candidate peer, record whether subsidiaries are fully consolidated, associates are equity-accounted, joint ventures are proportionately consolidated or excluded, and whether project SPVs are controlled, jointly controlled or merely financed. Put this “consolidation perimeter” beside every ratio.

How to choose genuine peer companies

Start with an economic match, not a ticker list. A practical peer should resemble Nimbus on several of the following dimensions:

  1. Business model: residential developer, construction contractor, land or project developer, or a mixed holding company. A software exporter or a pure lender is not a construction peer simply because a screener places it nearby.
  2. Reporting scope: consolidated or standalone presentation, treatment of project SPVs, and accounting for associates and joint ventures.
  3. Scale: revenue, total assets, market capitalisation, project inventory and operating footprint. A company many times larger may be useful as a benchmark but not as a like-for-like peer.
  4. Geography: Indian residential markets and the same regulatory and financing environment. State-level exposure matters when approval cycles and demand differ.
  5. Project stage: completed projects, active construction, stalled inventory, newly acquired land or land-bank development. Revenue timing can change radically across these stages.
  6. Capital structure: gross and net debt, finance costs, promoter funding, customer advances and working-capital requirements.
  7. Accounting mix: recurring project revenue versus investment income, fair-value movements, exceptional items and contributions from associates.

A related-stocks page names Omega Interactive Technologies, Pelatro, C2C Advanced Systems, iStreet Network, ABM Knowledgeware, Optivalue Tek Consulting and Ace Software Exports. Use such names only as discovery leads. Validate each company’s primary business, annual-report scope and project exposure before calling it a peer; several may have economics unrelated to residential development or contracting.

A repeatable comparison workflow

1. Freeze the period and currency

Use FY2025–26 for Nimbus and the corresponding twelve-month period for each peer. If a peer has a different year-end, disclose the mismatch and avoid implying that weather, launches, approvals and interest rates occurred in the same sequence. Convert all values to one unit, such as ₹ lakh or ₹ crore, and retain the original filings for auditability.

2. Define the reporting perimeter

Mark every row as consolidated or standalone. Note controlled subsidiaries, associates, joint ventures and partnership firms. If a peer changes its perimeter between years, explain the effect before calculating growth. A merger, demerger or newly controlled SPV can create apparent revenue growth without equivalent organic expansion.

3. Build the income statement

Collect revenue from operations, other income, operating expenses, EBITDA or operating profit, depreciation, finance costs, exceptional items, tax, profit attributable to owners and non-controlling interests. Keep other income separate from operating revenue. For developers, inspect contract revenue, project sales, construction income and revenue recognized over time or at a point in time.

4. Reconcile profit to cash

Extract cash flow from operations, inventory purchases, customer advances, receivables and payables. Calculate operating-cash-flow margin and the ratio of operating cash flow to profit after tax. A profit supported by customer collections is not equivalent to a profit created by fair-value gains or an accounting reclassification.

5. Map debt and financing

Record gross debt, cash, net debt, finance costs, lease liabilities and loans from promoters or related parties. Calculate interest coverage using a consistently defined operating-profit measure. For a group containing NBFCs, distinguish borrowing used for lending from debt used to fund construction; combining them can make leverage appear worse or better than the project business actually is.

6. Adjust the narrative for one-offs

List exceptional gains and losses, fair-value changes, impairment, settlements, discontinued operations and associate remeasurement. Do not erase these items from reported profit; show reported earnings first, then explain how recurring operations might differ. Label every adjustment and state whether management describes it as recurring.

7. Add operating evidence

For real-estate peers, collect project completion percentage, area sold, bookings, collections, unsold inventory, launches, possession dates and regulatory approvals where disclosed. For contractors, collect order book, execution, receivable ageing and retention money. These indicators help test whether revenue growth reflects physical progress or only accounting timing.

8. Date market multiples

Market capitalisation, enterprise value, price-to-earnings, price-to-book and price-to-sales change daily. Put the market date and share count beside each ratio. A price-to-earnings ratio is not meaningful for a loss-making company; use price-to-book or enterprise-value measures cautiously and explain their limitations.

Metrics to place in the peer table

Category Metric Calculation or definition Why it matters
Scale Revenue from operations Audited operating revenue for the matched period Shows activity, but not profitability or cash quality.
Growth Year-over-year revenue growth (Current revenue ÷ prior revenue) − 1 Must be adjusted for acquisitions, perimeter changes and restatements.
Operating performance EBITDA and operating margin EBITDA ÷ revenue Useful only when companies classify project costs consistently.
Profitability Profit after tax and net margin Profit after tax ÷ revenue Captures financing, tax, associates and non-operating items.
Cash Operating cash flow and conversion Operating cash flow; operating cash flow ÷ profit after tax Tests whether earnings turn into cash; negative conversion needs an explanation.
Funding Debt, net debt and finance cost Borrowings less cash; finance cost from the income statement Separates operating weakness from interest burden.
Coverage Interest coverage Consistent operating-profit measure ÷ finance cost Low or negative coverage signals refinancing and execution risk.
Per-share EPS and diluted share count Reported basic and diluted EPS with shares outstanding Capital raises, splits and dilution can invalidate raw EPS comparisons.
Returns ROE and ROIC Profit ÷ average equity; after-tax operating profit ÷ invested capital Compare only when equity, debt and one-off items are measured consistently.
Property operations Inventory, sold area, bookings and collections Use disclosures for the same date and project set Shows demand and execution behind recognized revenue.
Valuation Market capitalisation, EV, P/E, P/B and P/S Market date and enterprise-value bridge required Links operating performance to investor expectations.
Quality controls Fair-value, exceptional and associate effects Show each material item separately Prevents a one-time gain or loss from defining the peer ranking.

Why revenue rose while profit fell

Nimbus’s FY2025–26 filing reports a ₹1,154.89 lakh loss from fair-value changes in investee-company equity shares measured at fair value through profit or loss (FVTPL). That loss affects reported earnings even though it is not the same as a decline in construction volume or apartment collections. It should be shown as a distinct bridge item, not silently excluded and not treated as project revenue.

Other possible bridges include a change in project mix, higher construction or subcontracting costs, finance costs on delayed projects, impairment, associate losses, tax effects and the timing of revenue recognition. The filing figures alone do not establish which of these explains every rupee of the year-on-year swing. A sound comparison therefore presents the reported loss, identifies the disclosed fair-value charge, and marks any unquantified operating explanation as unestablished rather than guessing.

Use this bridge for Nimbus and every peer:

Bridge line Question to answer
Revenue change Did additional projects, higher completion, acquisitions or a changed consolidation perimeter create the increase?
Gross or project margin Did land, materials, subcontracting or project provisions consume the incremental revenue?
Operating expenses Did employee, selling, administrative or legal costs rise faster than revenue?
Finance costs Did borrowings, delays or capitalized-interest reversals increase the interest burden?
Associates and joint ventures Did equity-accounted losses or gains change the group result without changing consolidated revenue?
Fair-value and exceptional items Were investments remeasured, impaired or settled during the year?
Tax and non-controlling interests Did tax recognition or minority allocations alter profit attributable to owners?

How to present Nimbus against peers

Use a two-layer table. The first layer contains the strictly comparable consolidated metrics. The second is a scope and quality panel that prevents a misleading ranking.

Company Period and basis Revenue Revenue growth EBITDA margin Net margin Operating cash flow Net debt Material one-offs
Nimbus Projects FY2025–26, consolidated ₹22,875.62 lakh 28.30% Obtain from audited statement; not stated in the supplied figures (38.47%) Obtain from cash-flow statement; not stated in the supplied figures Obtain from balance sheet; not stated in the supplied figures ₹1,154.89 lakh FVTPL fair-value loss disclosed
Peer 1 Matched consolidated period Report audited value Calculate from prior year Calculate consistently Calculate consistently Report audited value Report audited value List disclosed items
Peer 2 Matched consolidated period Report audited value Calculate from prior year Calculate consistently Calculate consistently Report audited value Report audited value List disclosed items

“Not stated in the supplied figures” is preferable to a guessed margin or debt ratio. Complete those cells from the company’s audited statements before publication or omit the metric from the ranking. Never infer EBITDA from revenue and net profit when depreciation, finance costs and fair-value movements are unknown.

Common comparison mistakes

Mixing parent and group accounts

This can make Nimbus appear tiny on revenue but heavily loss-making, or make a peer appear more profitable simply because its subsidiaries are included. Keep the basis visible in every table heading.

Calling a screener match a business peer

Market-data “related stocks” often reflect size, price movement or database classifications rather than operating similarity. Read the business description, segment note and principal subsidiaries before inclusion.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Ignoring consolidation mechanics

A 95%-controlled partnership consolidated like a subsidiary is not economically identical to an associate accounted for under the equity method. Record the ownership and accounting treatment alongside the figures.

Ranking on revenue alone

Revenue can rise while margins, cash conversion and solvency weaken. Pair growth with operating margin, cash flow, finance cost, project inventory and collections.

Stripping out every loss

Fair-value losses and impairments are real reported effects. Show them separately, explain their nature and, if useful, provide a clearly labelled recurring-operating view; do not replace statutory profit with an invented “adjusted” number.

Using undated market multiples

A price-to-book ratio without a market date and share count is not reproducible. Freeze the date, document the calculation and note whether the company is loss-making.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Comparing different project stages

A developer handing over completed inventory may recognize revenue while another is still acquiring land. Add bookings, collections, completion and unsold stock to explain timing rather than treating timing as management quality.

A decision framework for readers

After filling the table, classify Nimbus on three separate axes instead of issuing one unsupported rank:

  • Operating scale: Is consolidated revenue and project activity growing relative to genuinely similar companies?
  • Earnings quality: Are margins and cash conversion supported by projects, or dominated by finance, associate and fair-value movements?
  • Financial resilience: Can the group fund completion, service debt and absorb delays using cash, customer advances and committed financing?

A company can score well on scale and poorly on earnings quality. Nimbus’s FY2025–26 result illustrates why those dimensions must remain separate: the consolidated top line increased, while reported profitability reversed and a disclosed FVTPL loss affected comprehensive performance. The appropriate conclusion is conditional until operating margins, cash flow, debt and project disclosures are placed beside the peer figures.

Sources and freshness controls

Use Nimbus Projects’ audited FY2025–26 filing and FY2024–25 annual report for statutory numbers, consolidation details and accounting notes. Use the market-data presentation attributed to S&P Global Market Intelligence only as a secondary check on the revenue series. Recheck annual results, listing status, market data and update dates before publication because these facts can change after the stated retrieval date of October 19, 2026.

Save the filing date, page or note reference, currency unit, period, consolidation basis and market date for every cell. When a company restates a prior year or changes an accounting policy, preserve the original and restated values and explain which one drives the growth calculation.
