The safest way to clean a Secretlab TITAN Evo is to identify its upholstery first, remove loose dust with a soft upholstery brush, blot spills immediately, then use only a slightly damp microfiber cloth or a cleaner made for that material. Let every cleaned surface air-dry completely before sitting. Never scrub fabric stains, use hot water, soak the chair, or wash a SKINS cover while it is still attached.
TITAN Evo chairs can use several very different coverings. NanoGen Hybrid Leatherette, NEO Hybrid Leatherette and PRIME 2.0 Leatherette tolerate quick wipe-downs; SoftWeave and SoftWeave Plus need blotting and careful fabric treatment; NAPA leather needs conditioning; and microsuede, Alcantara and Dinamica accents should be kept away from water. The procedure below separates those cases so a cleaning method that is safe for one surface does not damage another.
Identify the upholstery before applying anything
Look at your order details, chair documentation or the upholstery description for your exact TITAN Evo configuration. Do not assume that a fabric-looking panel is interchangeable with leatherette, or that a removable SKINS cover can be treated like the upholstery beneath it. When a chair has multiple materials, follow the stricter instructions for each panel and keep cleaners on the material for which they are intended.

“Water-resistant” does not mean waterproof. It gives you time to wipe a spill from the surface; it does not make soaking, steam cleaning or flooded seams safe. For leatherette, use as little liquid as possible. For NAPA leather and water-sensitive accents, treat any liquid as an emergency.

Gather supplies and prepare the chair
Have a vacuum with a soft brush attachment, clean microfiber cloths, dry absorbent cloths or plain paper towels, and a material-appropriate cleaner. A dedicated leatherette cleaner is for leatherette panels. A dedicated fabric upholstery foam cleaner is for stubborn SoftWeave Plus spots. A high-quality leather conditioner is for NAPA leather only. Keep a separate cloth for each product so residue from one cleaner does not transfer to another surface.
- Unplug nearby electronics and move the chair where air can circulate around it.
- Remove cushions, pillows or accessories that block seams and crevices.
- Test any dedicated cleaner on a concealed area first and wait for it to dry before treating a visible panel.
- Read the cleaner’s label for material restrictions; the chair’s upholstery instructions take priority over a generic cleaning label.
- Do not mix cleaners, bleach, solvents, disinfectants or household degreasers.
- Keep zippers, adjustment mechanisms and electrical components dry.
Use a light touch. Pressing a damp cloth into padding can drive moisture below the upholstery, where drying is slower and odor or mildew risk is greater.
The safe cleaning sequence
Use this order for every TITAN Evo cleaning session, then apply the material-specific changes in the following sections.
- Remove loose dirt. Vacuum the seat, backrest, sides and creases with the soft brush attachment. The brush reduces the chance of scratching leatherette or leather. Work slowly around seams rather than dragging a hard nozzle across the surface.
- Deal with a fresh spill immediately. On leatherette, use a cloth only slightly dampened with water and wipe the affected area. On fabric, place a dry absorbent cloth or paper towel over the liquid and press lightly to lift it. Replace the cloth as it becomes wet.
- Do not rub fabric stains. Rubbing can spread the stain and force it deeper into the weave. Hot water can set a fabric stain, so use cool or room-temperature treatment only.
- Apply the correct cleaner when needed. For deeper leatherette cleaning, spray a small amount of dedicated leather cleaner onto a clean microfiber cloth, never directly onto the chair, and gently wipe. For a stubborn SoftWeave Plus mark, put dedicated fabric foam cleaner on a clean microfiber cloth and wipe in a circular motion. Keep that foam away from non-SoftWeave Plus areas.
- Remove residue if the product directs you to do so. Use a separate cloth that is clean and only lightly dampened, without flooding the upholstery.
- Air-dry completely. Leave the chair unused until the upholstery is fully dry. Do not accelerate drying with a heat gun, hair dryer on high heat, radiator or direct intense sunlight.
Cleaning NanoGen, NEO and PRIME 2.0 leatherette
Routine dust and grime
Vacuum with the soft brush first. For fingerprints, skin oil and ordinary dust, wipe with a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water. Use overlapping passes instead of vigorous scrubbing, and dry any visible moisture with a second cloth.
Deeper cleaning
When a film remains after a water wipe, use a dedicated leatherette or leather cleaner. Spray a small amount onto the cloth, gently wipe a small section, and turn the cloth to a clean side as it picks up soil. Applying product to the cloth controls the amount of liquid and prevents spray from reaching stitching, controls or the floor.

Spills and stains
Because NanoGen and NEO are water-resistant, a prompt wipe usually prevents a liquid from penetrating. PRIME 2.0 is an easy-clean, stain-resistant leatherette, but the same low-moisture approach is safest. Avoid allowing colored drinks, cosmetics or food oils to sit; surface resistance gives you a recovery window, not permission to leave contaminants in place.
Protective habits
- Blot or wipe spills as soon as they occur.
- Keep sharp belt hardware, rivets and pet claws from dragging across the surface.
- Do not use abrasive sponges, melamine foam, alcohol-heavy wipes or furniture polish unless the product is explicitly approved for your exact leatherette.
- Do not condition leatherette as if it were NAPA leather; oily conditioners can leave a film and change the feel.
Cleaning SoftWeave and SoftWeave Plus fabric
Regular maintenance
SoftWeave is breathable and benefits from frequent vacuuming. Use the soft brush attachment over the seat, backrest and seams to lift crumbs, hair and loose grit before they become embedded. Empty the vacuum promptly if it contains fine dust that could be blown back onto the chair.

Fresh liquid spills
Immediately place a dry, absorbent cloth or plain paper towel on the spill. Press and lift repeatedly; do not drag the cloth sideways. Continue with fresh dry sections until little moisture transfers. Do not use hot water: heat can set some stains in fabric and make later removal harder.
Stubborn spots on SoftWeave Plus
Use a dedicated fabric upholstery foam cleaner only on the appropriate SoftWeave Plus fabric. Put the foam on a clean microfiber cloth, then wipe the spot in a circular motion. Keep the foam off leatherette, NAPA leather, microsuede, Alcantara, Dinamica and other non-SoftWeave Plus panels. Use the smallest amount that covers the mark, and allow the fabric to air-dry completely before judging the result.
When a mark remains
Do not escalate immediately to hotter water, aggressive brushing or repeated soaking. Repeated rubbing can roughen the weave and spread an oily mark. If a stain has dried, vacuum first, follow the fabric cleaner’s label, and make one controlled treatment rather than several wet attempts. A persistent discoloration may have chemically changed the dye or fiber; more product is not necessarily a safer remedy.

Cleaning and conditioning NAPA genuine leather
NAPA leather has pores and is not water-resistant. Absorb a spill immediately with a dry cloth, using pressure rather than rubbing. Once the excess is removed, gently wipe with a microfiber cloth that is only slightly dampened with water. Never pour water onto the panel or leave a wet cloth on it.
Vacuum NAPA leather with the soft brush attachment to remove grit that could abrade the finish. For protection, Secretlab’s care guidance recommends a high-quality leather conditioner frequently, or at least once every three months, to keep the leather fresh and supple. Apply conditioner sparingly according to its label, test an inconspicuous area, and let the surface absorb and dry before use. A conditioner intended for faux leather, vinyl or fabric is not a substitute for a genuine-leather conditioner.
Keep NAPA leather away from direct heat and prolonged intense sunlight when possible. Heat can accelerate drying of natural leather, while concentrated sunlight can change color unevenly. Do not use household oils, shoe polish, saddle soap or solvent cleaners unless the product specifically states that it is suitable for finished NAPA upholstery.
Handling microsuede, Alcantara and Dinamica accents
These materials require a dry method because the care guidance says to keep them away from water. Wipe loose dirt with a dry microfiber cloth, moving against the grain so particles lift rather than settle. For a spill, blot promptly with a dry cloth. Printed paper towels can transfer ink, so use unprinted absorbent material instead.
For a mark that does not lift dry, use a specialist solution made for the exact material and follow its instructions. Do not substitute SoftWeave foam, leather cleaner or a general-purpose upholstery spray. If you cannot identify the accent material or the correct specialist product, stop after dry blotting and consult the chair’s upholstery documentation rather than experimenting on a visible panel.

How to wash TITAN Evo SKINS covers
Always remove a SKINS cover from the TITAN Evo before washing. Washing it while attached can leave moisture in the chair and can strain zippers or seams.
- Unzip and remove the cover carefully, following the cover’s seams instead of pulling on decorative areas.
- Close all zippers before placing the cover in the washer.
- Turn the cover inside out.
- Machine wash in cold water on the gentle or delicate cycle.
- Do not use bleach or dry-clean the cover.
- Tumble dry on low heat. If ironing is necessary, use low heat and do not iron decorations.
- Reinstall only when the cover is completely dry and the chair upholstery beneath it is dry and free of debris.
Do not treat most SKINS dirt or stains with SoftWeave Plus foam cleaner. The cover is a separate washable textile, so use the wash method above rather than applying a cleaner designed for the fixed upholstery.

Adopt a spill routine
Keep a clean microfiber cloth near the chair, especially if you eat or drink at the desk. The first response should be absorption or a light wipe, not a search for a strong chemical. Blot fabric; wipe leatherette; absorb NAPA leather and water-sensitive accents.
Control transfer from clothing and objects
New denim, dark garments, body oils, hair products and hand lotions can transfer color or residue to light upholstery. Let lotions and hair products dry before contact, and avoid placing wet coats, bags or abrasive hardware on the chair. A washable SKINS cover can add a removable barrier, but it still needs to be removed and washed according to its instructions.
Schedule dry maintenance
Vacuum whenever crumbs or visible dust appear and include seams, the underside of the seat edge and the gap around the backrest. More frequent light vacuuming is safer than infrequent aggressive scrubbing. Wipe leatherette when fingerprints or grime are visible; do not apply cleaner simply because a calendar says to.

Condition only genuine leather
NAPA leather benefits from a high-quality conditioner often or at least every three months. Leatherette, SoftWeave, microsuede, Alcantara and Dinamica do not use that same conditioning routine. Applying conditioner to the wrong material can create a slick film, attract dust or alter the texture.

Common mistakes and recovery steps
Using hot water on fabric
Hot water can set a stain in SoftWeave. Stop adding heat, blot with a dry cloth, and allow the area to dry. Once dry, follow the dedicated fabric cleaner’s instructions for a small, controlled treatment.
Spraying cleaner directly on the chair
Direct spraying can send liquid into seams, controls or padding. Blot away excess without rubbing, then switch to applying a small amount of the correct product to a microfiber cloth.
Scrubbing a fabric mark
Hard brushing can spread the stain and disturb the weave. Stop, let the area settle, vacuum when dry and use a gentle circular wipe with the appropriate SoftWeave Plus foam if the panel is eligible.
Using fabric foam on another material
Do not use SoftWeave Plus foam on leatherette, NAPA leather, microsuede, Alcantara, Dinamica or SKINS unless the product documentation explicitly allows it. Remove residue only with a compatible, minimally damp cloth and let the surface dry.
Putting a SKINS cover in the washer while attached
Remove it completely, close zippers, turn it inside out and use the cold gentle or delicate cycle. Do not bleach or dry-clean it, and keep heat low during tumble drying.
Sitting on upholstery that is still damp
Stop using the chair and let it air-dry fully. Body weight can push moisture deeper into padding and create a larger damp area than the original spot.
A practical maintenance schedule
- After every spill: Absorb or wipe immediately using the method for the specific material.
- Weekly or whenever dirt is visible: Vacuum with the soft brush, including seams and crevices.
- When leatherette feels dirty: Use a water-dampened microfiber cloth; reserve dedicated cleaner for residue or deeper cleaning.
- When SoftWeave Plus has a stubborn spot: Use dedicated fabric foam on a cloth, not directly on the chair, and only on SoftWeave Plus.
- At least every three months for NAPA leather: Apply a high-quality leather conditioner, or do so more often if the care instructions for your conditioner require it.
- When SKINS needs washing: Remove it first and follow the cold, inside-out, gentle-cycle instructions.
- Before regular use after any wet cleaning: Check that the entire treated area is dry, including seams and edges.
Final safety checklist
Before you start, confirm the upholstery type. Vacuum with a soft brush. Use water sparingly and at room temperature. Blot fabric instead of rubbing it. Apply cleaner to a microfiber cloth rather than spraying the chair. Keep fabric foam on SoftWeave Plus only, keep water away from microsuede, Alcantara and Dinamica, and reserve conditioner for NAPA leather. Remove SKINS before washing. Finally, allow every surface to air-dry completely before sitting.
