For a bearer prize bond in Pakistan, submit the prescribed claim form, a copy of your valid CNIC, the original winning bond and a photocopy of the bond signed on the back. National Savings says claims up to Rs. 1,250 can be filed at specified National Savings, scheduled-bank or State Bank branches; claims above that amount go to State Bank branches. The claim deadline is six years from the draw. Registered premium prize bonds use a different process: winnings are credited to the investor’s bank account without a separate claim form.
First identify which type of prize bond you have
The claim process depends on whether the winning instrument is a bearer bond or a registered premium prize bond.

National Savings describes a bearer bond as belonging to its holder, like currency notes. That distinction matters: the physical instrument is central to a bearer-bond claim.

How to claim a bearer prize bond
- Check the draw result and wait several working days. National Savings says a claim can usually be lodged after several working days while winning-bond lists are prepared and distributed. Its FAQ gives differing estimates, so do not treat a particular day as a guaranteed earliest filing date; check with the office where you plan to submit.
- Get the claim form. The State Bank of Pakistan forms index lists the Prize Money Claim Application Form PB-23. National Savings says the claim form is free.
- Prepare the documents. Bring a photocopy of your valid CNIC, the original winning bond, and a photocopy of the bond signed on its back by you.
- Submit at an eligible office. National Savings guidance directs claims up to Rs. 1,250 to a National Savings Centre, an authorized scheduled-bank branch or a State Bank branch. Claims above Rs. 1,250 are directed to State Bank branches. A bank’s presence in a list of participating banks does not mean every branch accepts claims: confirm that your intended branch is designated before travelling.
- File within the deadline. The claim must be made within six years of the draw date.
Tax deducted from the prize
National Savings currently displays withholding tax rates of 15% for filers and 30% for non-filers, deducted when prize money is paid. These are the rates shown in its official guidance accessed on October 4, 2026; tax rules can change, so confirm the applicable rate when claiming.

Damaged, lost or multiple winning bonds
Damaged bond
National Savings says a damaged bond may be considered for a claim subject to clearance under the rules. Its FAQ does not set out the assessment procedure, so contact the intended claim office before submitting a damaged instrument.
Lost bearer bond
National Savings explains that a bearer bond belongs to the person holding it and that payment is not stopped simply because a bond has been reported lost. The reviewed official guidance does not describe a routine replacement or recovery process for a lost bearer bond. Do not assume that reporting it lost will preserve or transfer your right to claim.

Prizes from more than one draw
Claims for two separate draws can be submitted together using separate applications, provided each claim is still within six years of its own draw date.
