QED’s researched product pages describe a cable and connectivity range, not a lineup of speakers. So choosing “QED speakers” for streaming means choosing speakers and an amplifier that suit your system, then using an appropriate QED cable if it fits the connections. The sources do not establish a current QED speaker-model shortlist; a specific recommendation depends on your budget, room, amplifier and the manufacturers’ current specifications.
Does QED make speakers?
The QED pages relevant here cover cables and adapters. QED’s Connect range includes products for different connections, while its Connect Speaker Cable is described as connecting speakers to an amplifier or AV receiver. These sources support choosing a QED cable for a speaker system, not comparing QED loudspeaker models.

There is no substantiated current QED speaker comparison here, nor model-specific guidance for room size, budget, sensitivity or listening preferences. To get a meaningful speaker shortlist, first identify your amplifier and budget, then compare current speaker-manufacturer specifications and, where possible, audition suitable options.
Choose the right system architecture
Passive speakers
Passive speakers require a separate amplifier. A basic streaming chain is a streaming source, an amplifier, passive speakers and speaker cable. QED’s 2024 brochure depicts the streamer-to-stereo-amplifier connection separately from the amplifier-to-speaker cable connection: QED Brochure (2024).

- Air Gap dielectric for lower capacitance and better timing
- X-Tube technology for low inductance and better current delivery
- Pure 99.999% oxygen-free copper conductors
- Ideal for long cable runs with large cross-sectional area
- Pre-terminated with Airloc Heat Shrink 4mm Banana Plugs
Active or powered speakers
Active speakers have amplification built in, so a separate power amplifier may not be needed. Check the specific speaker’s documentation to see what it includes and which inputs it accepts. The QED speaker-cable guidance cited here addresses wiring speakers to an amplifier or AV receiver; it does not establish the connections required by every active-speaker system.
All-in-one streaming amplifiers
Some devices combine streaming and amplification. If yours does, the streamer and amplifier in the basic chain may be one component. Confirm in its manual which streaming services or inputs it supports and whether its speaker outputs suit the speakers you are considering.

Check speaker and amplifier compatibility
Compare the speaker’s published nominal impedance with the amplifier manufacturer’s supported load and other requirements. Follow the manual for the exact amplifier model rather than treating an example from another product as a universal rule.
For example, Sonos says its Amp can drive speakers with a nominal impedance above 4 ohms and provides separate power-rating guidance in its Amp Guide. That guidance applies to Sonos Amp; it should not be generalized to other amplifiers. Likewise, QED’s support article about speaker switches discusses a particular switching and load scenario, not compatibility rules for all amplifiers: QED support: speaker switches and 6-ohm speakers.

Match the streaming source to the amplifier
Work out whether streaming comes from the amplifier itself or a separate phone, computer, TV, streamer or DAC. Then match the source’s available output to an input on the amplifier. QED lists USB, 3.5 mm and optical cables alongside speaker cable in its Connect range, but no one cable type suits every system. Choose based on the ports and supported connection types on your actual components.
Select speaker cable for the physical connection
QED positions its Connect Speaker Cable between speakers and an amplifier or AV receiver. Before buying, check that the cable length reaches between your components and that its termination works with their speaker terminals; the product page establishes its intended use, not that one length or connector fits every setup.

- NEW X-Tube Plus combines X-Tube and Aircore for consistent frequency performance
- Hybrid ultra-pure copper conductor for improved signal retention
- Low Loss Ultra-Uniform Dielectric insulation reduces signal loss
- Airloc Forté banana plugs for improved conductivity and reliability
- Award-winning cable design recognized by multiple audio publications
QED’s product page states that the cable has 37 strands and 99.99% oxygen-free copper conductors. Those are construction details, not evidence by themselves of better streaming, compatibility with a particular speaker, or an audible improvement.

Room dimensions, speaker placement and the listening level you want are relevant to choosing speakers, but the cited sources do not provide a model-specific room-size chart or thresholds. Use the speaker maker’s placement and setup guidance, and compare options against your room and intended listening level rather than relying on an unsupported size rule. A final choice also requires the speakers’ current specifications and the amplifier’s manual.
