Lies of P’s Steam listing highlights dynamic weapon combinations, Legion Arms, and abilities. Consider whether those customization elements sound more appealing than a wider range of approaches to combat and character creation.

Evaluate difficulty by its structure, not its reputation
Rather than looking for a universal ranking, consider what makes a challenge demanding for you: learning enemy patterns, repeating attempts, checkpoint placement, or mastering a particular defensive response.
Checkpoints and repeated attempts
Bandai Namco describes Dark Souls as deeply challenging and identifies Bonfires as checkpoints. That gives you a concrete feature to consider, but the description does not establish a numerical comparison with other games.

Defensive mechanics can shape the experience
The Lies of P Steam listing labels the game difficult. A Steam discussion comment about parrying offers an individual player’s perspective, not an official difficulty specification or a representative measure of player experience.
The available descriptions do not support an authoritative, controlled difficulty ranking across these games. Treat difficulty labels and reputation as clues, then compare the mechanics and challenge patterns you actually want.

Decide how much freedom you want to explore
If you want open landscapes and choices about where to go, Elden Ring’s publisher describes vast landscapes, connected dungeons, and multiple ways to approach exploration. That is evidence of its advertised structure, not a guarantee that every player will find it more accessible or enjoyable.
Compare build and progression features
Look at the kinds of choices you want to make as you play: character creation, weapon selection, combinations, or special abilities. Elden Ring’s Steam and publisher descriptions support character building as a comparison point. Lies of P’s Steam description foregrounds adapting weapons and combining weapon components with Legion Arms and abilities.
