Steam and Epic show Path of Exile hours in their game libraries. Console players must use the playtime features built into PlayStation or Xbox, while the Grinding Gear Games (GGG) standalone client has no documented public counter that totals your hours. No single public tool is documented to merge Steam, Epic, standalone, PlayStation and Xbox history, so treat each figure as platform-specific.
What each playtime counter actually measures
Before checking a number, identify which account and clock produced it. A storefront counter records sessions launched through that storefront. It is not necessarily the same as time spent actively controlling a character: the game can remain open while you are in a menu, paused, disconnected, or away from the keyboard. A console annual report has a different scope again, and a total supplied by GGG Support may be based on server records rather than launcher runtime.
Use the number for the question you are trying to answer. If you want to know how much time your Steam installation has been running, use Steam. If you want an estimate of time associated with your entire GGG account, ask Support whether they can provide an account-level figure. Do not add separate platform totals unless you intentionally want a rough personal estimate; overlapping sessions, migrated accounts and different definitions of “playtime” can make the sum misleading.
Check Path of Exile hours on Steam
Steam displays playtime on the Path of Exile library page. The Steam version is listed under app ID 238960, which helps you distinguish the game from unrelated entries or shortcuts.

Steps in the Steam client
- Sign in to the Steam account that you use to play Path of Exile.
- Open Library.
- Select Path of Exile. If search returns several results, choose the official game entry associated with app ID 238960.
- Read the playtime shown on the game page near the main Play control.
The value is tied to that Steam account and its Steam-launched sessions. It does not automatically include sessions started with the Epic Games Launcher, the GGG standalone client, PlayStation, or Xbox. If you have used more than one Steam account, each account has its own counter.
If Steam shows no hours or the wrong game
- Confirm that you are signed in to the account that owns or has played the game; Steam library pages are personalized.
- Check that you selected Path of Exile rather than a shortcut you created yourself. A shortcut may not carry Steam’s normal playtime tracking.
- Allow the client to finish synchronizing after closing the game, then reopen the library page. A value can take time to update after an active session.
- Remember that Steam’s figure covers only launches recorded by Steam. It cannot recover hours from another client.
Check Path of Exile hours in the Epic Games Launcher
Epic exposes two labels for the same general information. In the library’s list view, the column is called Time Played. On the game’s three-dot menu, the detail is labeled You’ve Played. Epic Games Store Support describes the list-view column as displaying playtime for games you have played.
Method 1: use the Time Played column
- Sign in to the Epic Games Launcher.
- Open Library.
- Switch to the list-view icon so the library displays columns.
- Find Path of Exile and read the Time Played value in its row.
Method 2: open You’ve Played from the game menu
- Open Library and locate Path of Exile.
- Click the three-dot menu beside the title.
- Read the value shown as You’ve Played.
Both views report Epic’s record for sessions associated with that Epic account. They do not merge Steam, standalone-client or console sessions. If you have more than one Epic account, switch to the account that actually launched the game before interpreting the value.

When Epic’s number looks incomplete
- Check the account identity first; a different Epic login has a separate library history.
- Verify that you are viewing the list rather than a tile-only layout when looking for Time Played.
- Use the three-dot menu as an alternative if the column is hidden by the current library layout.
- Do not treat the Epic number as a server-side total for every character. It is a record of Epic-launched activity.
Find playtime for the GGG standalone client
The standalone Windows client is different from the Steam and Epic editions because it does not expose a documented public playtime field in the launcher or a self-service account page. GGG’s privacy policy says the company processes gameplay data, including play time, and identifies account identifiers for Steam, Epic, PlayStation and Xbox. That confirms that playtime-related data can exist in GGG’s systems, but it does not document a page where you can sign in and read one combined total.
What you can check yourself
- Look through the standalone launcher and your account pages for a playtime field, but do not assume a local log is an authoritative lifetime total.
- Keep separate notes for characters, leagues or dates if you need a personal estimate. A local installation may not represent sessions played on another computer.
- Do not infer account-wide hours from a single character’s level, league history or achievement progress; those are not documented as a conversion to playtime.
Ask GGG Support for an account question
Players commonly report contacting GGG Support to request an account total. This is a practical support request reported by the community, not an officially published self-service procedure or a guaranteed feature. Support may decline, provide a qualified estimate, or use records that do not match a storefront counter.
When contacting Support, explain that you are asking for playtime associated with your GGG account and state which clients or platforms you used. Include the account email and character names only through GGG’s official support channel. Never send your password, authentication codes or payment details. Ask Support to clarify what their figure includes—for example, whether it covers only the standalone client, all linked platforms, current characters, or historical records—before comparing it with Steam or Epic.

Check Path of Exile playtime on PlayStation
PlayStation’s available counters depend on the console’s profile features and on Sony’s reporting periods. Sony’s 2025 PlayStation Wrap-Up announcement said eligible PS4 and PS5 players could view total hours played and their most-played games during the Wrap-Up access period from December 9, 2025, through January 8, 2026.
Use the console or profile activity view
- Sign in to the PlayStation profile used to play Path of Exile.
- Open the profile, game library or gaming-activity area where your console lists play history.
- Select Path of Exile if it appears and read the displayed hours.
Menu names and availability can vary by console generation, account region and Sony’s current interface. Wrap-Up is seasonal rather than a permanent live counter: after the access window closes, its annual summary may no longer be available. A future Wrap-Up can use different dates or eligibility rules, so do not assume that a 2025 report remains accessible year-round.
A PlayStation figure applies to activity recorded for that PlayStation profile. It does not automatically include time from Steam, Epic, the standalone client or Xbox, even if you use the same email address or GGG account.

Check Path of Exile playtime on Xbox
Xbox can expose game activity through the console or Xbox account/profile interface. GGG’s privacy policy confirms Xbox account integration, but no current official Xbox help page in the available material documents exact labels or a fixed menu path for Path of Exile. Consequently, the wording and location of the counter may differ by console software and account interface.
General Xbox route
- Sign in to the Xbox profile that played Path of Exile.
- Open the profile, games or gaming-activity area on the console or Xbox account interface.
- Find Path of Exile in the list of games and inspect any displayed playtime or activity value.
- If no value is shown, check the game’s profile page and current console help prompts rather than relying on a third-party calculator.
If the counter is missing, contact GGG Support for an account question and identify the Xbox account or character involved. Support is the appropriate escalation for account records; the existence of Xbox integration does not guarantee that a public, lifetime-hours field is available to players.

Compare the counters before deciding which number to trust
These services answer different questions. The following comparison keeps the scope and limitations visible instead of treating every number as equivalent.

Four questions to ask about any displayed number
- Scope: Is it one storefront, one console profile or an account-level GGG record?
- Time basis: Does it count launcher/runtime time, profile activity or a server-derived measure of play?
- Coverage: Does it include only current activity, or is historical and deleted-character coverage explained?
- Availability: Is it an always-on menu value or a seasonal report such as Wrap-Up?
For a platform-specific question, use the counter belonging to that platform. For a cross-platform question, label the result as an estimate and preserve each platform’s value separately.
How to estimate a cross-platform total without overstating accuracy
There is no documented unified public counter that merges Steam, Epic, standalone, PlayStation and Xbox history. You can still build a personal estimate, but the method should make its uncertainty obvious.
- Record the Steam value and the Epic value separately, including the account used for each.
- Record any PlayStation or Xbox value with the date and the reporting period, especially if it came from an annual summary.
- Ask GGG Support whether a supplied account figure covers any of those same periods or platforms before adding it.
- Remove obvious overlap, such as a period when you migrated from one launcher to another but continued playing the same account.
- Publish or share the result as an estimate, not as an official lifetime total, and keep the underlying platform numbers for audit.
Do not add an account-level GGG figure to storefront totals unless Support explains that the figures cover non-overlapping activity. A server record and a launcher counter can count the same session differently.

The game is missing from the library
- Confirm the account currently signed in is the one that launched Path of Exile.
- Search the full title rather than relying on a shortcut or favorites filter.
- On Steam, verify that you selected the official listing associated with app ID 238960.
- On Epic, return to Library and check both tile and list layouts.
The counter is lower than expected
- Identify every client you used. Steam cannot know about Epic or standalone sessions, and console profiles cannot automatically import PC launcher time.
- Check whether you changed accounts. A second Steam, Epic, PlayStation or Xbox profile starts a separate platform history.
- Consider update timing. Close the game cleanly, wait for the launcher or console to synchronize, and check again.
- Remember that a counter may measure the client being open rather than only active combat or map time. A lower or higher value than your personal estimate does not by itself indicate data loss.
You need a historical or account-wide answer
- Storefront menus are not documented as complete GGG-account ledgers, particularly when several platforms are involved.
- For standalone or account questions, contact GGG Support and ask what records their response covers.
- For PlayStation, check whether the relevant annual Wrap-Up is still within its access period; the 2025 period ended January 8, 2026.
- For Xbox, use the current profile interface and escalate to Support if no activity value is exposed.
You want to compare characters rather than platforms
None of the documented platform views provides a reliable per-character active-playtime breakdown. Keep platform totals separate from character progress, and do not convert levels, leagues or achievement counts into hours.
Which method should you use?
- Played through Steam: open Steam Library and read the Path of Exile value beside the Play control.
- Played through Epic: use the Time Played column or the title menu’s You’ve Played entry.
- Played through the standalone client: there is no documented public self-service total; ask GGG Support if an account record is important.
- Played on PlayStation: use the console/profile activity view when available, or the seasonal Wrap-Up during its access window.
- Played on Xbox: inspect the console or Xbox profile’s game activity; labels may vary, and Support is the fallback for account questions.
Keep the platform and date beside every value you save. That small record prevents a storefront runtime number, a seasonal console report and a possible server-derived Support figure from being mistaken for one identical measure.
