Sign in to the Google Account you want to check, then open Gemini’s model selector. The choices shown there are the models that session can currently select; Google warns that model names, versions, and availability can change.
Check the model selector on web or mobile
-
Open gemini.google.com or the Gemini mobile app, and sign in to the Google Account you want to check. Google requires sign-in to switch models. Some web features may work without signing in, but that does not show what the signed-in account can select. See Google’s sign-in requirements.
-
In the web app, look below the prompt box for the model name and click it. In the mobile app, tap the model name inside the prompt box. Google documents these selector locations in its instructions for computer and Android.
-
Read the options displayed. Those are the choices available to select in that session; choose one to use it.

Make sure you are checking the right account
Personal, work, and school accounts do not necessarily have the same eligibility or options. If you use more than one Google Account, confirm which one is signed in before interpreting the list. Work access may depend on a qualifying Workspace edition, while school access may require the institution’s administrator to enable Gemini. Organizations can also control capabilities. Google outlines these conditions in its sign-in guidance and work and school account help.
Why your available models may differ
-
Account and plan: Google AI plans for personal accounts may expand access to features and models. Plan-based limits apply, and a plan label alone does not confirm which models appear in your picker. Google says availability and limits may change on its subscriber limits and upgrades page.

-
Location, language, and device: Google says the Gemini web app is available in more than 70 languages and over 230 countries and territories, but this does not mean every model is available to every account in every supported place. Mobile availability can differ from web availability. See Google’s web app availability information.

If a model you expect is missing
-
Confirm that the correct personal, work, or school account is signed in.
-
Check whether your work or school administrator needs to enable access or whether your organization’s account meets Google’s eligibility requirements.
-
Check Google’s current availability and plan-limit help for your location, app, and account type. Availability on the web does not guarantee the same choices on mobile.

Reopen the selector and use its current options as the practical answer for that session. Do not treat an old list as a guarantee: Google says model names, versions, availability, and limits may change.
Choosing among the models shown
Compare only the options your selector actually lists. Google’s descriptions characterize Flash-Lite as speed-oriented, Flash as balancing speed and reasoning, and Pro as suited to more complex math and coding. Labels and availability can change; check the current picker and Google’s model-switching guidance rather than assuming a particular lineup.
