Then check any component or configuration conditions listed there. If the server is behind the applicable fix—or runs an unsupported release—use Zimbra’s release-specific patch instructions and verify the installed version afterward.
Find the fixed release for the issue you are checking
Zimbra’s Security Advisories is the central index for matching individual issues to fixed releases. Search for the relevant CVE or issue, then compare its fixed-release entry with the server’s installed Zimbra Collaboration version and patch level.
Do not treat a CVE by itself as proof that a particular server is vulnerable. The advisory maps issues to releases, and its entries may apply only to a particular component or configuration. For example, the command-injection issue in the SNMP monitoring component listed in the 10.1.20 release notes applies when SNMP notifications are enabled. Check the conditions stated for the specific issue before deciding whether they match your installation.
The advisory says its table references supported versions, and warns that older unsupported versions may have the same vulnerabilities. An older release’s absence from the table is not evidence that it is safe.

Check the installed version and support status
- Record the installed release and patch level. Use your server’s administrative environment to establish the exact version. The vendor materials cited here do not specify a version-query command, so rely on a command only if it is documented for your deployment.
- Match the version to the advisory entry. Open the Zimbra Security Advisories, find the relevant issue or CVE, and compare the installed release and patch level with its fixed-release listing.
- Check affected components and conditions. Confirm whether the advisory identifies a component, feature, or configuration requirement that applies to your server.
- Assess support for both Zimbra and the operating system. If the release is unsupported, plan to move to a supported release even if the advisory does not list that older version. Also check the target release’s operating-system support before choosing an upgrade path.
The newest release identified in the vendor materials cited here is Zimbra Daffodil 10.1.21, released September 24, 2026. Its release notes list security fixes involving stored cross-site scripting in the Classic and Modern Web Clients, WebDAV MFA token validation, password recovery, OpenJDK, NGINX, and OnlyOffice integration. The advisory maps issues individually: some newer entries list 10.1.21 as the fix, while several list 10.1.20. The applicable target therefore depends on the issue you are checking, not simply on the newest release number.
For another example of an issue-specific entry, the advisory lists CVE-2026-49975 as fixed in 10.1.18 and shows a CVSS score of 7.5. That score describes the vulnerability’s severity; it does not indicate how many servers are exposed.

Apply the vendor update for your release and platform
Zimbra’s advisory gives general guidance to update using yum update or apt update and points administrators to its download page. These examples are not a complete, universal installation sequence. Use the Patch Installation procedure linked from the release notes for the target release and follow the instructions for your operating system and upgrade path.
- Choose the target release that fixes the issue and is supported for your environment.
- Open that release’s Zimbra Tech Center notes and follow its Patch Installation procedure.
- Use the operating-system-specific instructions and any applicable upgrade-path requirements in the vendor procedure; do not assume that a single package-manager command covers every deployment.
- After the update, verify the installed Zimbra release and patch level in the administrative environment, then compare them with the fixed-release entry again.
The vendor materials cited here do not establish one set of prerequisites, backup steps, service-interruption expectations, or cross-version upgrade instructions for every deployment. Follow the release-specific procedure applicable to your host rather than inferring those details from the general package-manager examples.

Check operating-system compatibility before planning
Zimbra 10.1.21’s release notes say Ubuntu 18.04 support will be deprecated beginning with the next release, while Ubuntu 24.04 LTS support became available with 10.1.17. These platform notes can affect which supported update path is appropriate. Review the target release notes for your operating system as well as the security advisory’s fixed version.
For a server that is already on an unsupported Zimbra release, the vendor recommends upgrading to a supported release as soon as possible. Treat the task as a supported upgrade or migration plan, not as proof of safety based on an omitted advisory entry.
